REI’S POV:
“Rosie?” I opened the door of her little shop while the bell above the door announced my presence. “I am back.” I heard her calling from inside of the shop. I quickly followed her voice only to find her working on her products and the fragrant from processed apples hit me strongly into my nose. “That’s an amazing smell.” I commented almost forgetting about the reason why I had come.
“Thank you. I am surprised you actually remember where I live after a month being locked alone in your room.” Rosie sounded hurt and her tone was scolding. I had no reason to oppose her since I knew you deserved such harsh words from her. Not only I had secluded myself from my pack which led to a little disaster but I also didn’t let Rosie come to me.
“I am deeply sorry about that. I should not lock myself and let those emotions sink me into sadness.” I apologized to her but I knew this would need way more than just a few nice words for her to forgive me. “You knew that something like that might happen and you were already prepared for losing some warriors from your pack yet when you came back to your home, you not only let him get into your mind but he also brought back memories that you should overcome already long time ago. You were not the only one who was brought back to your past that day and yet you didn’t care about the thoughts and emotions of anyone else, except yours. What kind of Luna you are?” She was definitely sounding like a scolding mom. I was grateful for her words no matter how much pain they inflicted. She was right about everything.
“Rosie I am truly and deeply sorry about what I did but right now I have a problem. I need your help urgently.” I didn’t mean to sound abrupt or disrespectful. I was already prepared to accept her scolding and blaming for my previous behavior but I remembered the reason why I had rushed to her in the first place.
She had finally turned to me ready to add a little bit more scolding but seeing the worries and urgency in my eyes, she stopped herself from saying any other words and only narrowed her eyebrows on me ready to hear my words.
“So what happened so acute that you had to interrupt my scolding?” She said sort of coldly with a strong voice and I made note for myself to really make a proper excuse once we are done with the current problem. “I will skip the time I spent in my room and about my dreams I had lately since they are not so important but today in my dream I made a wish and when I left my room my wish somehow became true. No one in the pack knows who I am. I was actually not sure if you would remember me too but I was counting on your protective shields and spell you placed around the city. It seems I was right and you still do remember me.” I was speaking quickly almost without breathing since I tried to explain the situation as fast as possible.
“You did what?” Rosie’s voice came out extremely loud and I could hear not only worries but also anger in her tone. “What did you wish for exactly?” She added right after her first question and I had narrowed my lips into a thin line from being ashamed to repeat the wish I had made during my sleep in my dream. “It was actually not completely wishful thinking. I didn’t say I wish or something like that. It’s just that a little thought came into my mind while I was in my dreamland and I said that maybe it was not that bad of an idea if they would forget me. It was not the first time I had actually thought something like that. To be honest it came to my mind today especially because I noticed that they stopped knocking onto my door trying to get me out or talk to me. I realized they were slowly forgetting me and suddenly the thought of letting them forget popped up in my mind.” I tried to explain to her the whole situation I was in.
“How many times did you think about this and when did this thought appear in your mind?” Rosie’s tone was strange, holding not only an urge but also fear in it and I started to feel that maybe my problem was deeper than I thought. At least now I was sure that it was actually my fault and my doing so I should be definitely the one to fix it.
“First time I thought about this maybe like two weeks ago when they were abruptly knocking onto my door. Calen was coming to me every few hours barging on my door and trying to get me out. I didn’t know what I was thinking back then and honestly I am not so sure why I kept myself locked for almost a month. To be honest it doesn’t make much sense to me right now either.” I continued explaining and I slowly remembered the dreams I had during the past month. “It felt like I was supposed to stay in my dreamland, whenever I wanted to leave the images of my dead parents appeared in my mind reminding me of the view I saw when we came back to my pack.” I said trying to remember exactly what was happening in my dreams.
“Was someone there with you?” This question Rosie gave me was strange. I wanted to answer no but when I opened my mouth to answer her I felt like this answer was not correct. “I am not sure.” I said after several attempts to answer her without success and she watched me as I was struggling with my own resolutions.
“Those dreams were not normal dreams and the fact that you don’t remember clearly is even stranger. Let’s go back to your pack and let me see how much damage you cause.” Rosie offered and my mood lightened up knowing that Rosie despite the fact of being angry with me was more than willing to help me get my family and my pack back.
Rosie closed the fire as she was boiling apples to create her apple marmalade and we went out of her shop. “Rosie. Is this woman really my mate?” We both were stopped by Calen who was standing right beside the shop probably waiting for us. “I am afraid she is.” Rosie said, giving me a teasing look. “What is going on here? Why don't I remember her?” He asked and I could hear distress in his voice. He was probably beating himself trying to remember about me and it looked like he was questioning his wolf all along as well.
“I will explain everything later but right now I need to figure out what your lovely mate did to create such a mess right after we came back from that cursed land.” Rosie said and this time there was no teasing tone, no jokes, only her pure disappointment in me and I could not blame her less for that.
