Taylor pov

I had spent most of the day away from the kingdom I knew if i didnt get back soon,. they would start worrying, So when i got home i made sure some of the kids knew i was back that way no one would think anything else. I decide once i got everything in the house i would let my cat out and go for a hunt or run, i knew she been itching to get out so i was going to let her out for awhile. I didn’t see Callahan anywhere, He was probably with his mate spending time with her, I shouldn't be upset at all it's not like we were a couple, it's not like we had s*x or he promised me the world or said he loved me He never said anything of that we didn’t even have s*x, we had made out and kissed but that's about it nothing else, I’m just glad we didn’t do anything, i knew he had other girls in his room i knew he slept with them, A part of me was a little jealous, but i was over it, I got everything in the house put away,

“Come on Taylor, I want out so i can hunt,”

“Alright alright already, let me get out of the house before we shift.” i walked onto the porch noticing that the king was home, he was driving up with his guards, im happy he made it home, he waved at me when he saw me i waved back, I walked out to the woods i took my clothes off then shifted, Kimmie was excited she wanted so much to go hunt, I ran off scenting that there was large prey ahead, maybe a deer or a monkey did i mention that our kingdom was in the middle of the sss, there are all kings of animals here, lots of trees flowers and everything else, i got to the edge of the border when i saw it, a large deer, i hid like leopard should hide during their hunt for their prey, I found her, she was eating the grass, i could tell Kimmie was hungry for it, so i let her take the lead, I watched through her eyes as she watched the deer cloesly, she scooted on her belly closer to it, whe the time was right, she jumped up jumped on the deers back, the deer was trying to buck it off, but it fell to the ground Kimmie took that chance grabbed it by the throat ending its life,she had a feast with the deer, when she was done she was happy, we ran toward home satisfied and full, I was almost home when I smelled a familar scent, it was Callahan. i really didn’t want to speak with him, So i jumped into a tree that was close to my house, i jumped down on my porch from the tree limb shifted then walked into the house, im not even sure if he even saw me, but when i got inside i put some clothes on because i knew he would be knocking on my door soon wondering why i wasnt there to meet the new queen, sure enough about thirty minutes later, there was a knock on my door, I rolled my eyes answering it, He was about to knock again when i opened the door, he quickly put his hand down,

‘What do you need Callahan? I need to get some sleep, Before tomorrows training,” I could tell he was trying to think of something to say, he just stared at me looking at me, shaking his head. then he finally found his words.

‘I came over to let you know I didn't find my mate tonight, Taylor, I was hoping we could talk and maybe be friends. You didn’t have to run away like you did today, i know you will probably find your mate next week on your birthday, I won't ask you to be my girlfriend until after you find him, if you don’t then we will talk about it,” I looked at him in shock, my mouth dropped open, he was telling me that if i don't find my mate next week, we will talk about dating, is he really serious about this, i wasn’t mad. I was just more shocked than anything else. I could only shake my head, I think it was best that we could just stay friends, maybe his mate is in another pack who knows.

‘Callahan, I'm not trying to be rude or mean, i'm sorry for how i spoken when I answered the door. but listen honey, i think you should look for your mate in another pack, she might be there, i don’t want you to give up looking for her because of me. I know we might have had something. But it's over now. i knew it was when i left the party, because i knew you would find her, And i'm okay with that. it's fine i'm alright, I promise i am, i was trying to not shed tears, i really wanted him to grab me put me in his arms and kiss me. I could tell he was surprised by what I had said. He reached to touch me. but i moved out of the way, i didn’t mean to hurt him. i really didn’t i just wanted him to be happy thats all,

“Alright Taylor, We can be friends, I'd rather have that with you and not have you in my life, get your sleep., i will see you tomorrow.” He turned walking away, I honestly wanted to call him back, jump in his arms and not let him go. But the only thing I did was watch him walk away with his head held high, I slowly shut the door and sat on the couch and wondered why i just let him go. Maybe it was for the best, But i never meant to hurt him.

Callahan pov

I saw that she was back. I was going to go talk to her but she came back out, went into the woods and shifted into her Leopard, damn I needed to talk to her, I wanted to see her, she'll come back and I'll be waiting for her. I waited for a few hours, I didn't want to be sitting on her front porch like a stalker, I knew she was out there somewhere hunting. I heard her growl knowing well enough she hunted down a prey for her cat.

“Why don't we just go hunt her down you know she don't want to talk to us when she gets back,”

“Listen, just let me do it my way okay, If i flat out tell her she won’t believe me, she won't know for another few weeks, i have to ease it onto her.”

“I swear the moon goddess gave me a dummy for a human,” I knew she was back i could smell her scent, the forest and sunflowers, i watched as she jumped into a tree closest to her house then jumped down onto her porch shifted then headed inside, i have her a few minutes to get settled and dressed, I hurried to walk on the porch knocking hoping she would answer the door, I was stunned when she opened the door her scent hit me like a ton of rocks i couldn't talk, i wanted to just grab her and tell her, but i just couldn't move,

‘What do you need Callahan? I need to get some sleep. Before tomorrow's training,” I knew I was a jackass when I said what I said, but she was being a b***h talking to me the way she did. I think she thought I had found my mate. so i just fired back at her, i didn't mean to upset her but i guess my ego got the best of me,

‘I came over to let you know I didn't find my mate tonight, I was hoping we could talk and maybe be friends. You didn’t have to run away like you did today, i know you will probably find your mate in a weeks on your birthday, I wont ask you to be my girlfriend until after you find him, if you don’t then we will talk about it,” the look she gave me said it all she was upset, and pissed at the same time. it was like i was making her my second choice if i don't find my mate anywhere, so she fired back at me,

‘Callahan, I'm not trying to be rude or mean, I'm sorry for how i spoken when I answered the door. but listen honey, i think you should look for your mate in another pack, she might be there, i don’t want you to give up looking for her because of me. I know we might have had something. But it's over now. i knew it was when i left the party, because i knew you would find her, And i'm okay with that. its fine im alright, I promise i am, I knew she was upset, and all I wanted to do was hold her in my arms to tell her that she was my mate, my cat was hissing at me telling me i was a fool for not doing it, i knew she was trying not to cry, she was fighting back tears i could tell, and to tell you the truth so was i, I sighed feeling defeated I caved in letting her have her way, there was no use to saying anything right now,

Alright Taylor, We can be friends, i rather have that with you and not have you in my life, get your sleep., i will see you tomorrow.” I left after that, I was trying so hard not to run back up those steps take her in my arms and not let her go but i needed her to know we were mates as well and she wont know for another few weeks, I didn’t want to scare her then i would never get a chance to be near her again, ill try and talk to her tomorrow, i'll see how it goes tomorrow morning, That is if she wants to talk to me, we will see tomorrow, or i'll just order her to stay and talk to me, i know i'm not the king yet, but i still have that power to order someone to stay and they won't be able to disobey me, we will see,
