As Caroline entered the kitchen, she greeted her guests by saying, "You may have a seat, and I'll quickly re-boil the kettle." Caroline then proceeded to do what she needed to do in the kitchen. He sat down next to me without saying a word, and the room was completely silent until he asked, "so how are things going at work?" The silence broke when he asked the question. I simply made a request in an effort to alleviate some of the tension that was mounting in the room. While rubbing his hands together, he stated, "No, I'm looking into the arson case where Megan was injured, allegedly, it was someone who burned the building on purpose."
