Chapter Three

983 Words
When the bell rang, I tried to stay calm as I can be as I walk through the crowd of students here in the cafeteria who sometimes look at me, where I feels judged. I have been in Eldoria Academy for four days now, and I could tell that these elite students are not the same students I hang out and socialize with back in Michigan. It is so hard to fit in with these elite students, this was a place only for them, where the elite families of this town sent their offspring to hone their extraordinary talents, and a stark contrast to the everyday struggles of the common folk. Eldoria Town is known for it’s towering skyscrapers scraped the sky and affluent families ruled from their high-rise penthouses, there existed an institution that stood as a symbol of privilege and prestige. They own this town, they build this town. In Eldoria town, the school are divided to two, Eldoria Academy where the elite students are, and the Eldoriana High School, where the ‘not-so-elite’ families sent their child. That is why students most often look at me, questioning why am I here, instead in the Eldoriana High School. But the admin of the school board put me here, even when my dad and I applied at the next door academy. “Elena!” Olivia called my name from the end of the cafeteria where she and her friends are having lunch. I walk there and sat with them. “I heard what happened. Are you okay?” Olivia asks about what happened yesterday night, where I witnessed a wolf transforming into a man, where Mason, claimed me to be his mate, where I lived nightmare in a reality. But then, someone saw me, lying in the middle of the streets, unconscious. Couldn’t remember how I got in that position. But I remember him bllowing some powder at me, then nothing. If I see that person, I would punch him in the face for leaving me unconscious in the middle of the street. Something bad could’ve happen to me! “What exactly did you heard?” I asks her, confirming what she thought had happened to me. “There’s a rumour flying that you were lucky enough not to be eaten by a wolf.” Olivia didn’t finished her sentence when one of her friends, Jimmy chuckled from what Olivia answered to me. “What?” Olivia asks to him. “That’s not exactly the rumors that we heard, don’t we Olivia?” Jimmy has a scars on his face, on his lower lip to be exact. It looked like it was scratch by a big cat. I wanted to asks how did he get the scar but Olivia told me that he does not want talking about the scar, it only gives him pain from recalling the memory that causes it. “People were saying you were r*ped and lucky enough not to get killed… and not be eaten by a wolf.” Olivia corrected her first sentence, being honest to me. If she can be honest, then she can answer the question that still stuck in my mind right now. “Is Werewolf real? Lycan?” I didn’t know that, the question I asks will made them stop eating their lunch, and made them look to each other, like their eyes are giving signal on to what to say, or do next. Jimmy, Olivia, Chen, and Polly, all looking to each other, with surprise on their facial expression. I am not i***t to not know that they are hiding something, that they have a secret, only they know, and does not want to share it with me. And I don’t blame them. Who am I to know? I’m just the new kid on the block. “Why did you asks that?” I hear the anxious on Olivia’s voice. “What made you think they are real? Because we believe that a myth, should stay a myth, and should not be mixed up with reality.” She added. “I’m just curious.” I do not want them to know what truly happened to me yesterday. I’ll let them think what they want to think, but if I told them that I saw a wolf, trying to kill me then transform into a human, mistaken me as someone I do not know of, they would not believe me. They would just think it that I am losing it. I just got here not even a week, and people do not treat me the way people treat you in Michigan, I do not want to add that awkwardness to myself right now, proving that I am not worthy enough to be known. “You see Elena. Eldoria is known to be the town around forest, a town with high buildings and skyscrapers, where mysteries are behind the trees. But we know something that is not a mystery… That Eldoria town is surrounded by wolves, living in the forest around. Wolf… Not werewolf.” Jimmy answered. I have not known them that well, but I could tell a little thing about them. Jimmy, he is serious. I don’t see him smile that very often. So it is new to me for him to speak, in his serious mood. “Werewolf are not real… I don’t know what happened to you yesterday, but I can assure you it is nothing.” Olivia held my hand and smiles, telling me that whatever I am thinking, I shouldn’t be thinking. “Maybe it is just a trauma response. You got yourself in trouble and was left alone unconscious in the middle of the street.” Chen speaks, the smart one, not because he is Asian, but because he is just smart. They continue their lunch and so did I… When someone caught my attention. Mason.
