Caged Between Two Alphas

Chapter : 12. New home..

Alice’s point of view :-

Through the window, I noticed the car driving all the way to the richest part of the city. Houses here are very expensive and spread in a wide range of lands in here. I have never been to this part of the city because I had no place or work in here. But from this day forward, this is where I will live. Or I should say caged.

When the car started slowing down, I realized we have reached to my new home. I peeked outside one more time to see a few people standing in front of a huge mansion with cameras. I should be worried about all those reporters, but instead I was worried about the house. It’s so big. I might even get lost in it. And it looks so expensive from outside. I wonder how it will look from the inside.

I didn’t notice when the car stopped. But when the driver opened the door for me, I came back to my senses. Taking a big gulp, I finally stepped outside slowly. But as soon as I got out of the car, all the crowd surrounded me and started asking several questions.

“Mam.. Mamm.. Are you happy about the wedding? Where’s Mr. Morales? Is it true that you are a human? How did you two meet? Are you and Mr. Morales together for a long time? Since when were you planning this wedding? Why did you keep your relationship a secret? What are your thoughts about being a human and an alpha couple?” And many more..

They were fussing over me so much that I was thinking about getting back inside the car again to escape them. But thankfully, someone came to my rescue in time.

“Guards. Clear the way for us. You know the media is not allowed in or house premises. Then why are they here? Get them out of here. Alice. Come with me. We should get inside.” I looked up to find the second alpha Eric, guarding me from the crowd. He took my hand and led me inside the house while the security guards tried their best to push those people away from us. He made sure no one can come close to me.

“I’m sorry. I should have waited for you to arrive first. I didn’t know all of those reporters would gather in front of the house so soon. We tried to keep this wedding a secret, but still the news leaked. I apologize that you had to face all those questions.”

“It’s okey. It was not your responsibility to..”

I don’t know what I was thinking that I blabbed out those words. When he apologized, I was reminding myself that it should be my husband who needed to apologize because now my safety is his responsibility. But he’s not here with me. But when I already let it slip out of my mouth, I covered it instantly to shut myself up. I looked up at his face in fear that he might be angry because I was insulting his friend. But instead of anger, I saw pity in his eyes.

“I know what you are thinking. And I also know that Austin shouldn’t treat you like this. But no one can control him. He always lives his life his own way. But you don’t have to hesitate to say anything to me. Think of me as your friend. I will be there whenever you need me. You can trust me.” I don’t know why his words were giving me comfort. How come an alpha like him is so nice?

But I know my place. No matter what they say, I should never let my guard down. I have always heard that alphas are short tempered. One mistake and they can snap my neck in a blink. I have to stay cautious. So, I gave him a small nod before he took me inside the house.

The house looks bigger and more expensive from inside. The surroundings were glowing with marble. There’s everything anyone ever needs is present in here and in their modern versions. As I entered through the main door, I found the living room on the left and a huge dining table on the right. There’s a room beside it, which is probably the kitchen. There’s a huge stair going upwards from the front that leads up to the second floor. And a side stair that leads to the side roof. The house is so big that I wonder how many rooms are on all floors.

“Welcome to your new home, Alice. I hope you like it. I have arranged everything for you. Your clothes, your shoes, and every necessary thing a girl will ever need. It’s all up in your room. Come with me. I will show you around.”

“Granny. I am going to get changed. If Austin comes back, tell him to come to my room once. I have something to discuss with him.” As I went to her, Eric excused himself and went to his room that’s upstairs.

“Okey. Let’s start from here. This is the living room. That’s the kitchen. You will find everything you need to cook in there. And yes, I want you to cook every meal. We do have a lot of servants and maids to help with house works. But I want you to cook for your family. I’m sure you have heard that our heart leads by our stomach. So, I want you to impress your husband through food. The rest of the works like cleaning and laundry, is for the maids. But try to make your presence visible to Austin as much as you can. You are a smart girl to figure out how. The storerooms outside. And that room is for guests, although we never get one. Now let’s go upstairs to where our rooms are.”

The house is divided into two sides on the first floor. Once we got up along the stairs, I saw two rooms on the far right and one in the middle and the rest of it goes the side ways.

“That room on the right side is Eric’s. The next one is empty. This one in the middle is mine. And that one beside mine is Josie’s. Let’s go and see her room.” She took me to Josie’s room and opened it for me to see. It was a perfect room for a little girl. The entire room is light colored and with a lot of stars all around. Even the ceiling looks like a starry night. And there’s a bed in the center where Josie’s is sleeping peacefully with a doll.

“I kept her close to me because I was the one who looked after her since she was born. But now that you are here, you can shift her close to you if you want.”

“It’s okay. Umm.. Let’s give her a few days to adjust to me before shifting her. It would be better for her.” I know everything is changing too soon for a little girl like her. Shifting her room so fast might affect her mental health in between all these things. So, I suggested giving her some time to adjust.

“You are right. Too much pushing won’t be good for her. Let’s give her time to bond with you. Now let’s go and see your room.” We took a turn and got in front of a few rows of rooms. Why are there so many rooms? This side looks even bigger than the front.

“A lot of rooms are still empty because we were only four members till now. But I guess soon it will start to fill up.” I don’t know what she meant by that, but she had a smirk on her face.

“This here is the library where Josie and I spend most of our times. The next one of it is Austin’s office. He likes to keep his business separated from his personal life. And the very last one in the row is Austin’s room, and now yours. You must be wondering what is below this side of the building. There’s a garden below this. Kind of like a greenhouse, where we grow some vegetables and flowers. We can have a visit there some other time. Let’s go and see your room.” She led me inside the room, and I was stunned to see how big the room is. And that was not even the end. There’s a balcony from this room with huge glass doors in between. It’s like a modern palace.

“Austin usually doesn’t let anyone come to his room, except Josie. Not even me. But I am invading his room today to make a place for you. I have arranged some dresses for you that I want you to wear them from now on. You are the wife of an alpha. You should start looking like one. Keep yourself always maintained and pretty. If you think you need something more, you can ask the guards and they will take you to shopping anytime you want. You are a member of the house too. So, don’t hesitate to order or make yourself heard by others. I am giving you the freedom to do what you want. You can get changed now and rest. I will call you when it’s time for dinner. You are new here, so get used to this place first before starting to work.” She left me in the room after saying that. But everything she said seemed like she brought me here to work or to keep her grandson entertained. Is it me or she the same as the other female alphas?

Now that I am in my new room and all alone, I thought about exploring the room a little. Calling it a room would be less. It’s a house on its own in here. The king-sized bed in the middle is enough for six people to sleep in it. There’s a curvy modern sofa on a side. There’s also a vanity place with a huge mirror and a beautiful stool right beside the door. There are all kinds of makeup equipment on it that I will ever need. On the side of the sofa, there’s a door that leads to another room and on the side of the vanity, there was the glass window that leads to the balcony.

I thought about checking out the balcony first. Opening the door, I went outside and got mesmerized. There’s a huge jacuzzi on the balcony, surrounded by a few plants in pots. The entire balcony was caged by glass, making it look more beautiful to the eyes. But the sun is setting down and the temperature is dropping. It’s way more windy in here than on the ground below. So, I closed the door and went back inside to be warmed.

Now it’s time to see what’s behind the door on the other side. Opening the door of the other side, I found two more rooms inside. There’s a walk-in closet right beside the bathroom, but separated by a hazy glass door. The closet is full of clothes and shoes and I can see what Caroline means. On one side of the closet, there’s only men’s clothes and shoes while on the other is women's. She gave me an entire side of his closet. I hope he doesn’t get mad to see that.

Next, I went to check the bathroom and I have to say I have never seen such a luxurious bathroom before. There’s a bathtub, a shower, a huge mirror with basin, hairdrier, hair straightener and curler and everything.. I don’t know if these things are here from before or is it Caroline’s doing, but it’s making me scared. This is way too much than I expected or deserved.

With a thumping heart, I went back to the closet to choose something to change into. But after seeing the clothes Caroline arranged for me, I had to sit down on the floor and sigh. All the clothes for me are very short and revealing. The dresses would barely reach up to my knees. There're long jackets and clothes, but it’s for outside. I have nothing comfortable to wear at home. My new home has everything in it, but nothing that I would be happy with. This is horrible..
