{Emily}
Today was game day. But we weren't going against Rutherford High anymore. It'll spark talk if two covens were battling after they've declared future peace. Things were fairly normal besides my hate-love relationship with Orion.
We were battling with Edgewood High. In the girl's locker room, the tension between the two teams only grew because of their snarkiness.
"Who do they think they are dressing like that?" Aniyah, pureblood born vampire, and Edgewood High's girls' volleyball team captain, was whispering amongst her team members.
"It seems that someone doesn't know how to keep their mouth shut," Jasmine growled while slipping on her uniform. It consisted of simple spandex shorts and a red/black shirt that had our school name etched into it.
"Jasmine, we don't need to spark a fight prior to a game," I reprimand.
"I don't think the foxes can hold back any longer," Jasmine mumbled as Venus took the stand and punched one of Edgewood High's girls right in the jaw. What followed was chaos. The other Alpha-Females jumped in.
"I said no fight," I hissed and proceeded to head over to the bawl of girls fighting. Unfortunately, Aniyah saw fit to landed a punch on me.
Blood dribbled from the scratch on my cheek. "To hell with this," I muttered and slammed into Aniyah. Chaos resumed as bodies slammed onto lockers and walls. The ruckus could be heard outside so it didn't surprise me when our coach began blowing her whistle to split us up but nothing worked.
Edgewood High's coach also scrambled in at a loss for words as she spotted me and Aniyah swinging kicks and punches at each other. My coach screeched: "GET HELP!"
The track and football coach who were going to watch the game stumbled inside. "SEPARATE THE CAPTAINS AND HAUL THE REST OUTSIDE"
I could hear the murmurs of the audience outside as they clambered at the locker room entrances. I had Aniyah pinned beneath me until I saw security guards pulling everyone apart and dragging them outside. Security guards grabbed Aniyah and me by our waists to pull us apart. Shouts could still be heard outside as the fighting resumed.
The security guards dragged us outside. The gym was in a state of chaos. Some girls still flung punches at each other.
"THAT IS ENOUGH," Coach barked and the girls fell silent. Jasmine released someone's pony-tail as they were all lined up against the wall. Coach signaled for the guards to let Aniyah and I go. "Explain yourselves captains!"
Aniyah glared at me. "This one and her group of sluts started it."
"I'm afraid that is a lie," I growled back. "Everyone saw how your fist was the first one to fly in the air."
"One of your girls hit one of mine," she protested and pointed at Venus.
"Care to explain why?" I smirked at her ashen face. Her cheek was slightly bruising.
Coach sighed. "The game is suspended."
"Not before I do this," Aniyah retorted and I thought she was charging at me but she slammed her fist onto the ground, releasing her pureblood powers. The ground crumbled beneath us as her team quickly got out of the way. Pureblood have power over the elements so it was simple for us to control the earth.
"DON'T-" I tried stopping her but she already created an enormous hole beneath my team and I. The floor beneath was replaced with a never-ending hole as we fell.
My hand grabbed onto the edge of the remaining floor beyond the hole as Jasmine grabbed my foot. This way, we formed a chain, with Daniella at the very end. Aniyah stared at me with a sneer.
"You i***t," I sighed. "You're coven will have to reverse the property damage."
"That's if you can get out of this situation," she grinned.
"Don't underestimate me," I warned and started hauling myself up but the ground began to crumble when I touched it. I notice the dome she built around the area so that no one could interrupt. "You're insane."
"Let's just say that your coven owed my coven a debt and it'll be repaid with your death."
I swung my ankle lightly to give Jasmine a signal. Fear washed over her features but she nodded. She released my ankle and that gave me time to haul my body out. I crashed my forehead onto Aniyah's and she was wiped out, her dome disappearing. Quickly, I threw myself back into the hole and grabbed Jasmine's hands.
I felt my feet slipping from the ground but cool hands wrapped around my ankles. "It's okay, Emily. I'm right here," Orion's voice was calm and soothing.
"Thank god," I whispered and looked back at his smiling lips as he began to pull us up with the help of Isaac and Conrad.
I realized that the Alpha-Females were morphing the ground back to normal as they were the last ones to be pulled out. I forgot their abilities would come in handy during these moments. A strange feeling washed over me as I saw Daniella run into Orion's arms. He was comforting her. It's like the world disappeared around them and only they existed.
However, Conrad was another person that stood awkwardly to the side. Of course! His brother has a relationship with his mate. It seems like this plot twist was sucked right out of a fictional world. Conrad was being betrayed by his brother and mate. Conrad didn't even do anything to stop this madness either. A cold fury and jealousy washed over me as I tried to maintain calm.
What was I expecting? I knew Orion might have f****d around with someone else prior to meeting with me but I never imagined it would be my sister.
"Em, are you okay?" Jasmine asked.
"I'm perfectly fine," I muttered as Orion's eyes found mine. Panic struck in his eyes and he released Daniella who wore a confused look. I gave him a cold shrug. I wasn't at all surprised by this and he was ashamed of that.
"The girls and I are going out tonight. You coming?"
I took a break from eye contact with Orion. "You can count on my presence."
"Great. Make sure to wear something sexy."
