Chapter 5

{Orion} Finding my mate was never on my mind. It never has been on my mind. I wouldn't want to burden someone with the scars and emotions I hold back. Middletown High isn't precisely heaven. It's more like I have to support the beings that I hate the most. Vampires. But that was until a girl starting driving me wild. Emily Le Doux. A pureblood vampire of the Blood's Eclipse Coven. As it turns out, that girl is my mate. My soulmate. I was destined to love a girl who belongs to the species that I hate. They murdered my family.  Her scent was intoxicating. Whenever she walked by I would always get a gust of her rose-scented perfume. I struggled to remain passive. There are many guys surrounding her. Because of that girl, I was near murdering Axel. What I wanted most was to ravish her. Slam her against a nearby wall and take her.  It was impossible. She wasn't desperate for my attention but she was killing me on the inside. It killed to be unable to touch something that belonged to you. But she is a vampire and that was where I drew my line. It's futile to fight the bond that has been placed between us.  My fists were clenched to my side as I watched her prance around in a revealing tank top and shorts that hug her ass. Something went wrong. Her body was trembling as she hurried out of the gym. The girls that belong to Emily's coven were quick to rush out of the gym.  We waiting at our cars for the girls to come out. The four peas in a pod. Vanessa, Venus, Vivian, and Daniella. It stung to watch as they had someone to kiss when they came out. Daniella's case was different. The situation between her and my brother Conrad is awkward. Daniella and I are to blame. My desperation for someone to have and love lead me to Daniella. My brother's mate. I wasn't sure if what I felt for her was love but we terminated all relations with each other when Conrad and the others found out. My mind couldn't help but drift to Emily. What would she think about what happened between me and Daniella? I was the odd one out. The four peas in a pod piled out in a fit of giggles. I didn't pay attention because I still worried about Emily. I never saw her this agitated and shaky. She was always composed and cold. The Ice Princess. My Princess. *** She didn't come to school in the next three days. No one that belonged to her coven attended. Something serious must have happened. Maybe death knocked on their door. ***
