Chapter Six :I love you

Michael’s POV

Why didn’t she tell me? I asked myself as I drove home, I reached the gates to my mansion, pressing the remote to open the gates and driving 5kms to the house. I parked the car in the car port and went into the mansion, I lived alone with the maid and the butler who lived in the quarters, taking my tie and jacket off putting on the couch I went to the bar, got a bottle and glass to pour myself some whiskey I needed to clear my thoughts.

Lisa and Anthony? Now that’s something I never thought I could see in my life, I received a text from mother, “tomorrow 7 O’clock at the Hussar restaurant meet the chairman’s daughter” I finished reading it and threw the phone on the table, just continued drinking after a few glasses I grabbed my phone and went upstairs to my room, I took off my clothes and got into a t-shirt and pyjamas turning on the aircon. I guess I was destined to be alone I thought to myself

I woke up to the sound of my alarm and I knew it was 5am, I dragged myself out of bed, picked up the remote for the curtains and windows as they opened so I could see the sun rise as I prepared for work. I went to bathroom, turned on the shower as I enjoyed the warm water. It was a Saturday so I would work mostly from home but today I decided to go for work.

I quickly got dressed and went to have my breakfast, Maria my cook was aware that I needed my breakfast at 5:45am ready at the table, I reached the table and the breakfast was served. I finished eating ready to drive out. I checked my phone and found several messages and missed calls from Lisa. I opened the texts “Please pick up your phone, we need to talk” I opened another one “Am sorry! Please call or text that you are okay” I scoffed at this, Anyway I needed to call her back just so that I could not worry her.

I called her and she picked up her phone at the second ring “Hey! Are you okay?” She answered sounding worried. “Hey! I am fine, I found your missed calls” I said sounding low

“Mikey, I wanted to tell you! I just didn’t find the right words to use” She said

“Lisa, it’s fine I just wanted to let you know that I am okay. I am driving out to meet a client let’s talk another time” I said cutting the call I got into my BMW 7 Series, putting on my seat beat and driving out for the office.

“Gabby! Gabby! Woke up you will be late for work!” Mother shouted as she shook me so that I could wake up.

“Mmmmm What time is it?” I waking up and removing my hair from my face.

“What time is it? I asked her

“It’s 45 mins past 6am” She said, 6am it rang in my head I jumped up from bed getting out, rushing to the bathroom.

“Why didn’t you wake me up earlier?” I shouted as I ran up and down,

I quickly brushed my teeth and washed my face. I rushed to my room taking off my pyjamas. I put on my bra, pulled out a vest, Jean and Shirt. I quickly pulled on some canvas, grabbed my phone from my side table running down. I got my bag from the table I left it last night.

“Gabby! Your coffee!” Mum shouted but I had already left the room and was outside

“Good Morning Gabriella!” Mrs Watson greeted me as I had just passed her without greeting me

“Good Morning Mrs Watson!” I shouted waving at her,

I ran as fast as I could to the bus station but I only saw a glimpse of it as it turned into the main street leading to the restaurant.

I had to go to the subway now to make it for the 7:30am train, and it was a bit costly for me.

I ran as fast as I could to the main road to go to the subway, I stood by the traffic lights paying more attention to the lights when Nick stopped the car.

“Did someone send an SOS?” He asked me I looked at him and he was smiling

“Nick! What are you doing here?” I asked him looking surprised.

“Get in before the light turn green.” He opened the door and I quickly got in.

“Nick what are you doing here?” I asked him

“I knew you would oversleep after our fight so decided to come take you for work. Am cool right?” He said I looked at him and he seemed to be okay, I smiled knowing that I didn’t lose this man

“Nick! Am sorry about last night, I didn’t mean to upset you” I said and he got my hand in his but I just kept looking at him.

“I know you tried to help! That’s why I love you” he said bringing my hand to his mouth

“Thank you for understanding” I said

“Please just delete his number!” He said looking at me

“your wish is my command” I answered as I deleted that man’s number from my call log.

He dropped me off in front of the restaurant and he drove away but not before kissing me.

I stood there watching him drive away. I entered the restaurant through the front door and went round to sign in. “Did Nick drop you off today as well?” Rita asked me as I found her already changed into her uniform.

“Yes. He did” I answered smiling,

“Do you love him?” she asked while waiting for me

“I do. 150%” I replied.

“I hope he feels the same way” she said leaving me as I changed into something.

I know he can never cheat on me that's for sure. If only I knew what tonight had in stock for me.
