“That was surprisingly good,” Jake announced after mopping up the last of his second helping. Damian raised an eyebrow at him. “Why surprising? You always enjoyed my cooking.” The other man shrugged. “I mean for such a simple meal, I guess.” “Hmm. You certainly haven’t lost your appetite.” “Are you calling me a hog?” Jake leaned back in his chair. “Not exactly, but you’ve always enjoyed a lot of food.” He grinned and rose to clear the table. Jake patted his stomach and sighed.
