In the last months, we’d grown inseparable. He didn’t have a lot of free time, but whatever hours he did have, he gave them all to me. And his son. I was at his loft this afternoon. Sitting at the kitchen island, I watched Nick work his magic. His back was to me, and my eyes moved over his broad shoulders, his narrow hips, his tight, maddening ass. He swayed his hips, as he tossed, chopped, and stirred, while in the background, Elvis’s reverberating voice swung me back and forth, between that night, so very long ago, when Nick had spun me around the living room, and today, where Nick was still dancing me around.
