Lexi and George got in his car and they drove of as Lexi tightly held on to her clutch bag that had her weapon in it. Why was she after George, was it because of the fact that Thompson's girlfriend had a thing with him or because she wanted the virus and she also wanted to kill everyone that had a hand in killing Thompson.
Lexi: this is a beautiful car..
George: thanks but I prefer the term machine. This is not just an ordinary car.
She smiled for lack of knowledge about cars but who cared about cars anyway, after she was done with him, he wouldn't even be in a position to drive.
Lexi: so where are we going to?
George: coffee house, they do the best coffee and besides, a beautiful girl deserved a beautiful place..
Lexi: thanks. Coffee house should be fine.
George: so tell me. What do you do and why did you visit our offices?
Lexi: I have a friend who told me you guys give the best services when it comes to home decors and stuff. I've been to your furniture shop and it's amazing.
George: anything you like in particular?
Lexi: yeah, the dresser. I think I should get that but then again I just got my new apartment and I want it fully furnished. My friend directed me to your offices, she said if I speak to you personally you would give me a good deal.
He smiled as he looked at her well exposed thighs ready to brush his hands on them but he had to keep them to himself bearing in mind that she was a potential client and he didn't want to loose the deal.
George: and who is this friend of yours beautiful?
Lexi: her name is vera.
George looked at her briefly then focused on the road again. Vera was Thompson's girlfriend and ever since he died she had not seen George claiming she was involved in the funeral arrangements and stuff given the fact that Thompson was going to be buried that coming weekend.
George: wow, vera never told me she has such a beautiful friend.
Lexi: well, should be because I'm not so outgoing but she sure mentioned a few things about you.
George pulled over by the parking to the coffee shop, got out of the car then opened the door for Lexi and closed it as he held her waist from the back and led her inside.
He was such a gentleman and Lexi enjoyed that feeling.
George picked a table away from the window, probably avoiding being spotted by one of his many girlfriends. Lexi was way too beautiful to let go just like that and he couldn't hide the fact that he wanted to have more than business..
George: you have a beautiful smile by the way, it comes out perfect with that dimple.
Lexi: thank you. You really know how to play with your words.
George signalled the waiter and he came almost immediately. They both ordered for coffee and Lexi ordered for some cookies along with it.
Lexi: so, are you married?
George: married, ah no.. marriage is a big step and one has to be very sure about it.
Lexi: yeah true. I was honestly hoping you are not.
He took that as a compliment and he smiled. He didn't know that Lexi was hoping he wasn't married so that she wouldn't have to feel guilty for leaving the kids fatherless.
The waiter brought their order and they talked alot for the better part of that evening.
Martin kept checking the time hoping Lexi would walk in any time but she didn't, that was way after Stella left and Martin was left thinking of everything that Stella and him had talked about. Gloria didn't seem to have taken seriously what Martin had told her about Lexi and now it was worst that her father was back after years of disappearing on them, Lexi hated that man and she swore to Martin she would have nothing to do with him and if he dared showed up in their home, she would poison him.
Martin: what if she really does now that she has a killer within her?
He asked himself pacing with his hands on his waist then he stopped suddenly and picked his phone from the couch where he had been sitting and called Lexi hoping she would pick and tell him where she was.
Lexi: oops, that's my phone. Can I pick it?
George: sure. Go ahead.
Lexi: Martin...
Martin: babe where are you?
Lexi: out with a friend. What do you want?
Martin: I just miss my woman. what, can't I call your phone anymore?
Lexi: no, that's not what I meant.
Martin: I want to come pick you up and take you out for dinner this evening.
Lexi: I will get a cab home. I'm a bit busy right now.
Martin: busy doing what?
Lexi: talking to a client.
Martin was puzzled. What client was she talking about because she had not been working for like two months since she got very sick and all her duties were deligated to her colleagues.
Martin: okay, what time are you coming over?
Lexi: in the next hour.
Martin: okay, so should I prepare dinner from home?
Lexi: I will be okay with whatever you decide to do.
She hanged up even before he could say another word.
Lexi: sorry about that.
She said taking a sip of her coffee staring into George's eyes..
George was lost in thoughts for a while then he realized that Lexi seemed like a totally different person when she talked on the phone...
George: you seem annoyed
Lexi: yeah, that's a friend I used to stay with before I got my apartment. I told her I would go pick the stuff I left at her place and she keeps asking when I'm going. She seems to take so much control of my life and it's annoying at times.
George: yeah, I know how friends behave sometimes and I think I have a solution to that.
Lexi raised her eyebrows out of curiosity and waited for him to spil.
George: I can have you settled in an apartment of your choice if you want, I mean it will keep you away from the control freek.
Lexi: mmh.. that's a very tempting offer but what's the catch?
George: well, you can give me some of that sugar.. you keep me satisfied you get everything you want.
Lexi: and I bet you tell that to all the women you find attractive.
George: I flirt with them but I haven't offered them that much. I'm not just attracted to you. I want you.
There was a bit of an awkward silence between them and Lexi couldn't get the mug off her mouth. Her plans to kill George were being slowed down by his charms. Why didn't she kill him in the car like she killed the taxi driver, I mean she had a chance to but she decided to have coffee and flirt around with him.
George: just say the word and it's done.
Lexi: what about Vera, from the way she speaks of you. It seems like you guys are deep into some s**t. I know she likes you.
George: well, vera shot her shot and I kept turning her down but she would never stop pestering me. I gave her good s*x, thinking we would be done after that but she can't keep off. I think if I tell her I'm committed to someone else, she will stop.
Lexi: well like I said, I just got my apartment and another one won't be necessary.
George: right.
He seemed disappointed but Lexi didn't care about what he had to offer. She just kept thinking how she would get an opportunity to kill him. Accepting this coffee thing was a bad idea because now she was second guessing.
George: are you done with your coffee, maybe we should get going so that we beat the traffic.
Lexi: yes I am. Thanks for the coffee.
George: anytime beautiful.
George cleared the bills then held Lexi's waist as he led her out. He opened the door to the car and she got in then got to the other side, got in and drove off.
A thought crossed Martin's mind and he decided to get to it. Martin thought that if he put a camera in the house and some listening devices as well, he would be able to know every move Lexi would be making, who she would be talking to and every place she would be going to.
He sat down with his phone and googled the home hidden camera and a full page of people offering those services was displayed with their price range. He was keen to find something that Lexi would not easily notice because a CCTV was pretty obvious..
He found a bulb like camera that was fixed like a normal bulb and could be managed from the phone. It costed around Ksh 4000 so he could use one for their bedroom and another along the corridor. That would capture the living room and some part of the kitchen.
Martin: this is nice.
He said as he got the contact and called the number that was displayed there. Martin talked to the guy and after talking to him, the guy agreed to take the job but because it was already late, he would show up the following day.
Martin was satisfied and as soon as he was done with the call, he went to the kitchen and started preparing dinner for Lexi. Martin knew what was happening to Lexi wasn't something she would wish for so he wanted them to sit down and talk then maybe see the way forward on their relationship. Martin had two things in mind, to convince her and get her mental state checked, or to leave her and move in with his life as Stella had advised.
One hour later George parked his car right in front of the gate to Martin's apartment. He insisted on dropping Lexi off and he wouldn't take no for an answer so Lexi agreed to be dropped home.
George: I had a good time with you and I wish we can do this more often.
Lexi: I know me too but there won't be a next time.
George: why not. Was I that boring?
Lexi: oh come on, no. I loved your company to be honest and I would do this again but Vera is my friend and...
George: I understand.
He cut her short then they were left staring at each other and George moved in close enough to want to give her a kiss..
George: I've been drying to kiss those soft beautiful lips, please let me enjoy the taste just this once..
She shied off but he held her chin and looked into her eyes..
George: please...
He whispered moving even closer and Lexi responded by moving in too and kissing him. He held her neck gently and slowly the kiss became more passionate and intense that Lexi had to pull away..
Lexi: sorry. I have to get going.
George: okay, but can I see you again.. please?
Did he not understand when Lexi told him there won't be a next time?
Lexi: I will think about it.
George: okay. Goodnight beautiful..
Lexi: goodnight.
She walked inside the gate and heard George start the car before she completely walked away towards the apartments.
Stella was disturbed by everything that Martin had told her. Stella was Martin's younger sister and she loved Martin so much that she would literally give up her life for him.
When Stella's parents died in a fatal road accident, Martin was only 18 years and Stella was 13 years by then. The family took everything that Stella's parents had and the relatives that took them in just gave them hell for a home. Martin ran away one night after he was thoroughly beaten for talking blame after stella falling with a tray of plates and breaking all of them. That night, her aunty Luna had seen off the Mary go round visitors she had and both martin and Stella were forced to wash the plates that the guest had used. Stella wiped the plates and arranged them in a tray and started walking with them to the cabinet when she slid on the tiles and fell. All the plates broke into pieces and scattered on the floor.
When their aunt Luna came back, Martin said he was the one who had broken the plates and he was beaten like a stray dog then he ran away from home and never went back.
Martin became a street kid and got a hang of the city life. He was introduced to robbery and he started by snatching people's phones by the windows in traffic then he graduated to robbery with violence kind of missions something that saw him to where he was. It wasn't easy getting out of that life but he somehow did.
Stella called her cop friend Remi whom they had been friends since high school. Remi loved Stella alot and was also so into Martin but she never got a chance with him because Martin loved Lexi way too much.
Remi: hey girlfriend..
Stella: hey you... So what are you doing right now?
Remi: nothing really. It's my rest day.
Stella: and you never thought of coming to see me?
Remi: do I really rest Stella, I was at the station for the better part of the afternoon but the good thing is that I won't have to report to work in the morning.
Stella: great, can you get a cab and come over...I've got sugar for your tea girl. Wait.. I mean to say you and my brother could finally have a chance.
Remi: what, did they break up?
Stella: stop asking questions girl, just get here.
Remi: I'm on my way..
Stella ended the call and smiled.
Lexi opened the door and when she didn't find Martin in the living room she went to the kitchen and he was there listening to music from his phone as he winded up on his cooking.
Lexi: hey handsome..
She said walking seductively towards him and kissing him passionately raising her leg to his hip and he lifted her up and had her sit on the kitchen counter.
She put her purse away and started unbuttoning Martin's shirt kissing his neck and his chest.
Martin couldn't resist because if he upset the other side of her, she would just run off on him again.
Lexi: I missed you.
She said slidding her hand on his chest all the way to his back and pulling him to her.
He unbuttoned her dress and kissed her cleavage then stared right into her eyes and she looked away to avoid eye contact with him...
Martin: food is ready. Maybe you should freshen up then you come we eat.
Lexi: can I eat you instead?
He smiled then nodded.
Martin: yeah, but after we have had dinner..
She agreed to his plan and he helped her down the kitchen counter. She picked her purse and walked out of the kitchen the same way she walked in.
Martin took a deep breath then set the table the way he wanted to and when he was done he sat there waiting for her to come down..
"I've been trying to kiss those soft beautiful lips, please let me enjoy the taste just this once"
She remembered George's words as she touched her lips and had a flash of the passionate kiss they had shared in the car.
"No Lexi. Stop being stupid. You have a mission and you have to see it to completion"
She told herself as she got out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her waist.
Lexi changed into her sexy nightdress then left her hair flow and she walked to the dining where Martin was waiting. He watched her walk towards him with her n*****s pointing through her silky short night dress and that turned him on so bad he could not forcus on anything else.
Lexi: I'm ready for dinner babe and the food smells so nice.
She said opening all the lids and checking the food then she smiled at him and planted a wet kiss on his mouth before she finally got to sit.
He cleared his throat and sat up as Lexi served her plate.
Martin: so, how was your day love?
Lexi: good.
That's all she had to say because she didn't want to tell Martin that the other her went to a date with a man she was supposed to kill and ended up kissing him.
Martin: you set me up today.
Lexi: I did?
Martin: you don't remember?
Lexi: no. What did I do?
Martin: if you don't remember then I would rather not bring it up.
Lexi: okay, so how was your day?
Martin: it was okay. Stella came over. She said hi.
Lexi: I miss Stella, it has been a while when did she come back?
Martin: a few days ago.
Lexi: and you didn't tell me?
Martin: you haven't been exactly easy to talk to.
Lexi: I'm sorry. There's just so much going on.
Martin: you want to talk about it?
Lexi: I went home and found my father there. I got so mad that I felt like if I had a gun, I would have put an end to his life.
Martin: he is your dad Lexi.
Lexi: I know that. Let's not talk about him. I want to continue with the wedding plans. I want to officially become your wife and I don't want to go back home.
Martin was not sure of what to say to that. He wasn't even sure if he wanted to marry her in her state especially after the talk with Stella. What if she turned on him and killed him instead? He loved her but he also knew she was not stable and could not commit to her just yet. Martin had a plan and he hoped the plan would work.
Lexi: baby did you hear me?
Martin: yes I did. We will get married but I need to work on a few things first. Maybe you can just move in with me if you don't want to stay at home.
Lexi: the wedding is important.
Martin: of cause it is and you are mine.. it doesn't matter where I marry you from. I love you Lexi..
Lexi: aww, that's so sweet babe.
She got up from her seat and walked up to him and sat on him then kissed him and he kissed her back then carried her to their room and gently lay her on the bed and started kissing her and just as she was beginning to get the hang of it, he pulled a small syringe with a needle on it and plunged it inside her neck and in a few seconds, she lay still.
Martin then got off her, dressed her up in sweat pants and a T-shirt then called Dr. Boaz who said he was already on his way...
