Loneliness

Chapter Seven, A few more days rolled down the horizon. There wasn’t any change in Hades’s behavior. He was the same cold. Grumpy person, even after giving Daisy the apology letter. The same routine came back. He leaves early and comes back late. The only time pass was Holly. But he could never replace a human being, right? Yet another evening came by after Daisy finished her classes, she sat on the sofa watching TV, but her mind wasn’t on the TV program. She mindlessly stroked Holly's fur, who was cradled on her lap. She zoned out, thinking how her life took a massive turn. Furthermore, she never liked silence,, but now it seems like she’s gradually to this silence. Each and every adjusting to moment she missed her family and friends even though she frequently ringed them up. She didn’t invite any of her friends here since she was unsure how Hades will react. The chances of him reacting positively to this is practically zero. So, she thought of not taking that step. The doorbell rang, pulling Daisy out of her trance. “Who could that be? Hades knows the passcode.”, she asked herself She looked at the intercom and saw Spencer, her best friend who is also Hades cousin, standing outside. He waved at her. She instantly opened the door and hugged him. The past month of seeing none of her friends really frustrated her. Now seeing Spencer after a month made her overwhelmed as she pulled him into a tight friendly hug. He chuckled and hugged her back. “Hey. How are you?” Spencer asked as soon as they both pulled away from the hug. “I’m fine. What about you?” Daisy asked as her voice held excitement, “I’m doing good.” “Come inside.” Daisy welcomed him. “What brings you here?”, she asked Spencer, motioning him to sit down on the sofa, He took the seat opposite of her. “I used to visit Hades earlier. After coming back from US, I didn’t get enough time to meet him. And I already informed him,, and he told me that he would come home early today. So yeah. I came, and now I can catch up with you too.” He chuckled. Daisy smiled at him, Spencer and Hades were close too and also shared a brotherly bond. “I’ll bring you coffee.” Daisy stood up and Spencer nodded, smiling at her. She made a cup of coffee for both of them. They chatted for almost half an hour about random topics, but mainly revolved around the recent happenings in their college. Later than Spencer suggested playing video games and hence another one hour passed by playing games. That was so much fun for Daisy. She missed this so much. Now she felt like how she endured one month of loneliness in this massive mansion. “It's already half past seven. Is he like this every day? Coming home late?”, Spencer asked for which Daisy just nodded, making him sigh. “Do you have your guitar with you?”, He asked. “Yes”, Daisy excitedly chimed in. He giggled and followed her to the balcony after taking the guitar from her room. “It's so good playing guitar while watching the sunset with a cup of coffee by the side. You know that feels heaven.”, Daisy said, looking at the view the late evening offered them. The sky tinted pinkish orange as chirping birds made their way towards their nests. The sunset looked gorgeous against the thick canopy of trees. Spencer chuckled hearing her. Another half an hour passed by as Daisy played guitar while Spencer sang with his angelic voice hitting each and every high notes. Daisy badly wanted to reunite with her music band at college. And thankfully, Spencer also informed that next month their University will hold the University Festival. For which Daisy was super excited. Their concentration was distracted by the ear-piercing sound of something breaking. Most precisely, the shattering sounds of glasses and vases echoed through the surrounding. “What was that?” Spencer asked with widened eyes. “I don't know. Let's check!” .
