Chapter 14
That night Carlos couldn’t sleep once again. He was up wondering if what the doctor, Beto, and Eugenio had said were true. Was this guilt making his imagination run wild? He remembered that time Beto had referred to. He was being teased mercilessly for being slightly effeminate, and it got to the point that he just didn’t know where to go or who to turn to. That was when Jackson showed up.
Strong and powerful, Jackson was there to give Carlos advice on how to handle bullies. Dressed in a red and black plaid shirt, Jackson always showed up when Carlos needed him. He gave him fighting tips and told him what to say. Jackson was his best friend, one he could really count on. The only problem was that Jackson wasn’t really there. Jackson was only a figment of Carlos’s imagination.
