Hi, I'm Aleister, a special kid atleast that's what my mom told me and that's kinda very hard to believe. You see I was born with an empty card, yeah that's right, my card was plane black with nothing written on it. Growing up I thought I was going to be a dark card user but as time flew by I realized that my card was actually empty and useless. Being the only kid with an empty card I was really famous in Taling city, a not so large city in Valmouth one of the seven nations. Every one knew the kid with an empty card. As a result he got bullied a lot in school and everywhere he went he would hear things like. "look, it's the kid with the empty card" "I heard he had a twin brother" "Yeah, and he's even a light card user" Aleister could hear adults gossip as he walked to school, where he stayed was not far from he's school. Yeah, he's was a twin and he's brother was the star of Taling city. He was a light card user, light card users were hard to find these days and when one appeared in Taling city he became the talk of the city making things worse for Aleister. At a point Aleister hated his brother for being a light card user but as he grew older he had to let go of the hatred he felt towards his twin James but they still didn't have a good relationship, apart from the fact that they looked almost alike you could not tell they were brothers from the way they behaved. Finally, Aleister arrived at school, he walked straight to his classroom avoiding the gaze of everyone one present in the walk way. "Yo, null is here someone shouted as Aleister entered his class. Null was one of the many names he was called. "Finally, how dare you make me wait" another student said as he stood and walked towards Aleister. Nick Alvis,an earth elemental, he was the son of the ruler of Taling city's largest district. Reynold Alvis. Taling city had four district, each lead by different nobles reporting to Talings city ruler. "So you thought you could get away right" Nick said as he blocked Aleister's path. "I don't know what you're talking about" Aleister replied with his head facing the ground, after all this was a world were only the strong survived. "You think I didn't notice you trailing Eve yesterday huh" Eve was every young boys dream girl here in Taling, she was the daughter of Taling city's ruler. A young beautiful girl with white hair, she a dual elemental card user, she possessed water and air elements. Nick's father had a good relationship with Eve's father, they knew each other from childhood so Nick decided that he would take Eve as his wife. "I did no such thing" "Then are you calling me a lier, I warned you so many times to stay away from her but you refused" "I'm sorry, I promise it won't repeat itself" Aleister could only beg as he knew what was coming next. "I'm sure it won't" "Just let him be Nick" a girl's voice could be heard not too far from were the drama was happening. It was Eve, she was staring at Nick, she was not nice at all to Aleister, he was the creep that would follow her around in school and would be caught staring at her for no reason but she didn't like the way Nick handles things. The room was silent for a while after Eve spoke. "Everyone settle down" their class teacher broke the silence as he walked into the class. "This isn't over" Nick whispered into Aleister's ear as he walked passed him. Aleister walk to his sit, the last time he heard that from Nick, he was in the hospital for two days. Although James was present in the class he could care less about his brother. "You guys are aware of the competition coming up soon right?" "Yes" "Good, my advice for you is to give it your all as this would determine if you would get into a college or not." Every two years there's a competition in the whole of Valmouth that determines if a child would be admitted into any of the four colleges in the nation and the competition would be held this year, different representative from each college would be present in all the cities of Valmouth to pick students that did well in the competition. This competition was since as the college entrance exam, Aleister had backed out from attending any college once he lost hope of ever being a card user, so he payed little attention to what the teacher was saying.
