I wake up to sunlight screaming through the unfamiliar space.
I groan and slowly sit up realizing I genuinely have no idea where I am.
A pang of panic courses through me. The bed I'm on is insanely large and the entire room is glass. luckily it seems the location is deep within the woods, there's no sign of human life for miles out.
I look behind me to see slightly scorched sheets. It's been a while since that's happended. I used to shift in my sleep when I was young, before I found the suppressants.
Only then does my body register the bubbled skin on my palms. I wince while trying the stretch my hands open. How lucky am I to be a monster that isn't immune to it's own magic.
I attempt to stretch out my severely burnt palms again and yelp.
