I could see the terror in his features as the question left my lips. His hands shook slightly, but he only tightened them around me.
I place my palm on his cheek and scratch at his facial hair.
"Hey, look at me. I promise I'm not going to be mad at anything you could say to me Hades. You could say I'm a f**k and dump and I wouldn't be mad. I just want to know, so I don't end up hurting myself, in the process."
He sighs deeply and calms himself, his eyes latch onto mine, like he's searching for his answer in them.
"Girlfriend?"
I smirk at his one word answer, like he couldn't muster the strength to say anything else.
"I'm okay with that, if it's truly what you want. You know what you're getting into with me, just be sure you're ready for my baggage."
