Throughout the rest of the afternoon, we were moving from one place to another. Spa, salon and every other place. I almost thought Alexander has forgotten about us. He barely spare us a glance. He speaks or make a movement when he's needed and surprisingly, the staffs doesn't seem to be glancing my way that much.
"Where do you think we're going next?" Claire whispered to me as we made our way to the car after we're done with the salon. "Where if not home"
"It'll be better. Before I like going for shopping but after today's encounter, I'm beginning to hate shoppings" She confessed. I almost burst into a fit of laughter. Who was the one getting excited about us going out? Now she hates shopping.
We settled the bags inside the booth then advance inside the car. Alexander ignites the engine to life and step on the accelerator. Silence was maintained. I rested my hands on my forehead and close my eyes eager to see myself at home. I don't think I would be able to lift a finger. However, my eyes instantly snapped open when I heard Claires voice. "Are we going somewhere again. Mr Alexander?"
I glanced through the almost dark surrounding. It wasn't the way that will lead us back home. "Mr Alexander, I thought we'd call it a day?" I asked too. Yet, his eyes were fixated on the road completely ignoring our rambling.
"If you're even thinking about going to another shopping mall, then I'm sorry to say I'm not interested. Can't you see we've been moving around all day?" I was on the verge of getting pissed. The silence that prevailed added more to my pissed off self. I stopped trying to talk and rest my back down closing my eyes on the accord.
The car came to a half in front of an unfamiliar building. I wouldn't say I didn't piqued my interest. However, the anger that build inside me surpass the surprise. I turned to him in anger. "What is this supposed to mean?"
And he ignored me for the third time unlocking the car door. "I will explain everything later. Come down for now" He finally opened his mouth.
I folded my arms across my chest. "I'm not going to move an inch from this car until you tell me where you're taking us" I exclaimed, sitting more comfortably.
I heard him intake a sharp breath, raking his hands through his hair. "Like I said, I will explain everything later. We're running late"
"You are running late" I corrected. He went silent for a moment. He can't expect me to just agree to him without a sole reason. If he's not going to tell me where he's taking me, then he can keep wasting his time for all I care. What I didn't expect is to see my legs dangling around.
"What the hell! Put me down this instant!"
"Since you decided to be stubborn, I have no other choice" With all my commotion and smacking his back, he didn't put me down or attempt to. And what makes matters worst, is the fact that Claire was enjoying the event. I passed her a death glare. I will deal with her later.
I heard a door being open and close and then Alexander decided to put me down. "What are you doing Mr Alexander" I walked up to the door when I felt it locked up.
"And why did you lock the door? Are you trying to kidnap me? Why? What did I do?" I bombard all at once getting irritated.
Alexander only stood calm. "Do you have problem with hearing?" I asked flinging my hand in the air.
"Can you at least keep quite for a minute. Just a minute" The way he said it made me roll my eyes and I kept shut at that. I shouldn't be wasting my energy on him. He can do what he dimmed fit. A pile of two minutes silence fell on us. I was seated on the Queen sized bed and waiting for him to finish his thinking. As the way he kept a neutral face, tells me he's in thinking.
"I want you to listen to me clearly for what I'm about to tell you" My eyebrows creased in question.
"Go on" I ushered.
"You'll be meeting my family later. So-"
"Dressed like this?"
Alexander snapped his eyes shut and opened them again. "Why is is that you never listen. Allow me to finish talking first" His voice sound like someone who is annoyed.
I formed my lips into a thin line, folding my arms across the chest. Alexander spared me a small look then continued talking.
"Claire will help you dress up. My family are not easy to mingle with. I'm afraid to say that, it will be hard for the first time. Which is why I'm telling you before hand. However, when you get to know them more, most especially my grandfather, then it will be good"
"I don't care about that. I will just be myself. It's not that I care whether they like me or not. I only here because I'm on contract with you" I explained. I didn't miss a small surprise on his face.
"Alright then. Its settled. I will be right behind the door. I will be back later when you're done" I only managed to nod. And watch him disappear out of the door. In not less than five minutes, Claire walk in.
"Hey babe" She ushered guiding herself inside. I passed her a dirty glare.
"Drop the babe act. Who were you laughing at earlier" She stared at me wide eyed.
"Me? I didn't laugh" She tried to defend.
"Don't play dumb with me. You were obviously enjoying Alexander misbehaving with me"
"I don't think using the word 'Misbehaving' is appropriate. It sound cheesy" Claire and her nagging. Dragging the discussing will only make me angry.
"Whatever. I bet Alexander himself has explained everything to you. So, let's get this over with"
"Girl getting excited to meet her in-laws" She chuckled out. I smack her in return.
Thirty minutes later and Claire is done doing her wonders on me. Turning my head here and there. Out of the dresses we bought, we choose an emerald green dress. It has a low slit at the back and a cape on the shoulder area. "Wow, who is this gorgeous woman in front of me" Claire cheered.
I scanned myself in the mirror. Truth be told, I know I looked different. The woman I'm seeing in the mirror is a different woman. The glow is there. "Alexander won't be able to take his eyes off you. He'd be charmed. I kn-" Her words came to a halt when the door was pushed open.
