THE SUN WAS a bright pale yellow as it started its descent into the west. The sand underneath them felt like sugar with its softness. It was nothing like the beach back home, where the sand had a rougher texture. People dotted the sandy shore everywhere to watch the night spectacle. Of course, it was easier to be awake to watch the sunset than it was to see it rise, so it had a greater audience. Selby’s hand caressed her skin as his arm wrapped around her back.
