Hollis and Vanni had no problem slipping into the roles they’d played the other times they’d been at the club. Hollis headed straight to the bar while Vanni veered off toward the dance floor, both searching for the man. Apparently the combination of it being Sunday, plus the fact that someone was targeting gays, had kept a lot of men away because the dance floor was only half full. Vanni watched for a few minutes, and then crossed to the bar where he took a seat at the opposite end from where Hollis stood. Once he had a beer in hand he rested his elbows on the bar while he watched the room in the mirror between the shelves of liquor. Fifteen minutes later he felt someone tap his shoulder.
