Chapter 10
As Vanni and Hollis entered the club, together but acting like they were just two men who’d been stuck next to each other in line, Hollis said under his breath, “I don’t remember…” Then he closed his mouth when he realized he’d been talking out loud, albeit quietly.
Vanni overheard him nonetheless and shot him a thoughtful look. “Done this scene before huh? Undercover?”
“Yes,” Hollis said a bit too quickly as he headed to the bar.
Uh huh, Vanni thought doubtfully. You agreed too fast, and were too eager to get away from me afterwards. Sure it was part of the plan that they only be together some of the time but still. He shook his head then began to check out the men at the tables and on what he could see of the dance floor at the back of the club.
