Chapter 3

2927 Words
Niklaus Not many females grab my attention but this one did. I had no idea why. Was it because she walked in on me killing that man the other night or was is because of her aura. I couldn't place my finger on it. I shook my head and sat down at my desk while looking out into the night sky from my window. "Nik?" I heard my sister. "In here!" I shouted, showing my whereabouts. She barged into my office and stood next to me at my desk looking out the window with me before heaving a sigh. "What for this time brother?" She simply asked. "Because you can't keep your mouth shut." I told her. She sighed heavily again before looking at me. "I honestly don't know why I put up with you and your projects." She huffed. I smiled then faced her. "The gang is not a project it is a means to an end." I told her leaning back in my chair. "You don't even do what normal gangs do. You have them searching the earth for artifacts that have been long lost." She scowls pouting her lips. I chuckle, causing her to roll her eyes. "So you would rather me sell drugs and weapons?" I asked her mockingly. "No." She shook her head slightly. Then she left. I went back to looking out of the window and at the full moon and bright stars. I couldn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t get that women out of my mind, why did I feel like I needed to get to know her. She was just some stripper that happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time the other night. She probably saw me as some horny man wanting to play. I shook my head at the thought and turned to my computer. Maybe I will see her again. I am the gang leader to fearful gang but they haven't had much crime activity since I've had them searching the earth for long lost artifacts that belonged to my mother. I'm also something else but we will keep that a secret for now. Natasha I woke up at around 10 A.M. the last few nights I have been dancing for Dolly instead of waiting tables I would refuse but I love to dance I just hate the men watching but Jack helps me through by pulling funny faces at me every now and then. I haven't seen that man in a couple of days which has easied the thought of him a little. I get up out of bed and take a long needed hot shower. It's my day off, finally! All of my bills have been paid so the rest of my money I can spend on whatever. So I have decided to go shopping for some new clothes and maybe a few items for work. I get out of the shower and dry my body then pin my hair up into a messy bun. I get dressed in light blue skinny jeans and a light blue cropped jumper. I grab my purse, carkey's and phone before putting them into my handbag. I look at myself in my full length mirror and nod my head, I don't look to awful and I'm not impressing anyone so this will do. Minimal make up is my kind of thing so some pink lipgloss and a bit of mascara will do to complete my look. I smile at myself in the mirror then head out into the living room. The apartment is empty as Jesse is away on a buisness trip for a few days. I make sure I have everything before locking the apartment door and placing the keys into my handbag and heading down to the parking garage. The shopping mall isn't far from where I live so I won't have to drive for very long. Which I am glad as I am starving, my first stop will have to be the bakery at the enterance to the shopping mall. They make the best croissants and their tea is to die for.  *** I smile as I walk into the bakery and order my usual. I can smell the freshly baked croissants coming out of the oven and the tea brewing.  I loved coming here the food was great. Once I got my order I sat down next to a window that showed some of the shopping mall. There were women with their partners walking around hand in hand. The men usually had the job of carrying the bags around while the women window shopped or dragged them into various stores. I chuckled when I saw a young couple about my age, the women jumped up and down in excitement then grabbed her partners hand and dragged him into a jewellery store. His face was a picture. I finished my croissant and then left to bakery with my tea. 'Hmmm, where do I want to go first?' I asked myself. I looked at the names of the stores, when my eyes landed on one I smiled and headed into that direction. I threw my tea into a bin just outside of the store then headed in. It was the largest store in the shopping mall, and it hand 3 floors. I found the elevator and climbed the floors until I reached the top one. The first floor was all mens clothes and the second was babies and childrens clothes. The last and very top floor was all womens clothes, there was lingerie, trousers, tops of all kinds, dresses and even shoes. It was one of my favourite stores as it had everything a women could wear. I picked up a basket. I went straight to the jeans aisle and scowered the racks, I found the skinny jean section and when through them, there was ripped jeans, faded, ankle grazers, the works, I found a few in my size and they all fit my style, three pairs where ripped in different colours and 2 were faded. I went over to the shirts once I put them into my basket. I found they had a new section in and it was all disney stuff. I jumped with glee, I\'m a sucker for Disney even if I\'m 22. I picked up a oversized jumper in my size that had Thumper on it and I just stuffed it into the basket, I couldn\'t help it I was in my element. Every women loves shopping... As long as it\'s for her self. Once I was done I went to the counter and everything came to 300 Dollars. I smiled as I pulled out the cash from my purse and handed it to the cashier. She was shocked I had so much cash on me. She counted it and smiled. "Here is your bags miss!" She smiled as she passed me two extra large bags with all my clothes in. "Thank you." I said as I took the bags from her. I walked out smiling. Not paying any attention to where I was going I walked into a hard wall, or more actually a hard chest and abs. "Oh my god. I am so sorry!" I squealed as I picked up the bag I had dropped. "Don't worry about it." The man said as he reached for my bag at the same time. We touched each others hands and the retracted away. I looked up to see who the man was and it was him. Again, the man from the club, the one that was watching me in the alleyway when I was on my break. "We need to stop bumping into each other." He said as he handed me my bag. I took it from his hand and my jaw dropped. He chuckled. "I know you." I blurted out. "I believe we have met before, yes." He said casually, rubbing the back of his neck. "Nope, before that." I snapped. It was as if I had woken from memory loss. I could remember him telling me to forget. Why was he telling me to forget. He looked rather shocked then furrowed his eyebrows. "What do you mean before?" He asked rather sternly. "The first time I bumped into you in the alley behind the club." I said almost asking. Niklaus How was she remembering? Was she breaking through the compulsion, or did she know of my kind? I didn\\\\\\\'t see any jewellery on her indicating protection from me or my kind. Or was she taking the herb that prevents compulsion. "The first time we bumped into each other what do you remember?" I ask her, folding my arms over my chest. She gestured to a bench just outside the store we were currently in. I nodded and went and sat down. She sat with me, I could hear her taking a slow deep breath before looking at me. "I only remember you telling me to forget something, and that you wished you could have met me in better circumstances." She looked at me confused. I placed my head in my hands and mulled over what she could remember. I thought maybe I should tell her the truth, but I couldn\\\\\\\'t do that, I had moved to this town for the protection of my family. I looked back at her and gave her a half smile, her ginger hair was shining as sun came through the large windows around the shopping mall. "I was rather angry with my brother as he had left me for a strange women he didn\\\\\\\'t know, I may have shouted at you a little out of anger, so I told you to forget what I said to you and that I wished we met when I was angry with my brother and in a bloody rage." I said, looking into her large blue eyes. She smiled at me, then looked at the floor. "I understand why you told me to forget, not the best first impression." She said looking back at me. "Exactly."  "Anyway I best be going, I have some shopping to do." She said as she got up from the bench.  I stood up myself and gave her a smile before bidding her a due and leaving. I rang my close friend as I needed advise, I wanted to know how she was breaking through the compulsion and if it would go further than just the odd thing said. "Hello." The female voice came from over the phone. "Violet, I calling in a favor. Meet me at the mansion in twenty minutes." I told her. "Okay Nik, see you shortly." I could tell she was smiling from the tone of her voice I smiled before hanging up the phone.  I hand only came here to pick up a suit, not to bump into that beauty again. I didn\\\\\\\'t want to continuously bump into her, once the was any type of feeling the compulsion would cease to work. I shook my head as I went into the Tailor\\\\\\\'s shop and waited for him to retrieve my suit. *** I got home and Violet was waiting in my office for me, my sister was politely chatting with as I entered. I placed my suit by its hand on the peg on the back of the door before I went and sat at my desk. I folded my arms and waited for them to finish conversing. The both looked at me and nodded. Izabella hugged Violet before leaving. I smiled at her and then looked to Violet. She came and sat down in one of the arms chairs opposing my chair. "What is the favor you need?" She asked crossing her legs. "I need answers on a serious matter." I told her. She c****d a brow, it was extremely rare I asked for answers from someone else, I\'d been round long enough to know a lot more than anyone else, but magic was a lesser topic I knew little about. "Okay, tell me." She simply stated. "Is it possible for someone to break through the compulsion even if they are not taking or wearing the herb?" I asked.  She thought for a second then shook her head. "The only other way to break the compulsion is to have a witch, does this person know a witch?" She asked. "Not as far as I am aware, she seems to just be a typical human girl." I explained and she thought for a bit before answering, "Then it is not possible, the spell to break compulsion is a deadly process even for a skilled and powerful witch. And if she is not taking or wearing the herb I don\'t understand how she is breaking the compulsion. I can look through my books to see if there is anything in them." She told me before uncrossing her legs. I nodded and signalled that she was allowed to leave, I heaved a sigh as the door to my office shut and I was now left alone.  "You are a mystery." I said to myself as I turn my office chair to look out the large window, that lead out to a balconey. *** Sometime later the sun had fallen and the moon had risen, at this time the moon was visable but the sky was painted a reddish pink colour, I smiled, the sky indicated the change in weather. Winter was short in this state and it was almost over, we never had snow just frost and ice, and the ice was rather thin, England's winter was much worse than here and in England the weather usually couldn't decide what it was doing. I smiled again and turned to my desk, there was a sharp knock at the door and I looked up. "Enter." I called. Izabella entered, shutting the door and walking to my side. You didn't come down for dinner." She stated simply.  I looked at her then back to my desk at the scattered papers and the dust collecting on my computer. "I had work to do Bella." I told her. She scoffed and walked to the door before she left she looked at me. "Brother, you don't need this M.O.B. you have a family." She said as she walked out. I rolled my eyes, I didnt need the M.O.B but I wanted it. I am feared in the supernatural world why not the human world too. I had the largest M.O.B of America at my beckon and call. Most of them were compeled while the few that knew of me on a personal level knew never to cross me and to just obey my orders. I heaved a sigh once again, I couldn't get the situation with the girl from the club out of my mind. I hoped she didn't fully remember what had happened that night,  Natasha I had gotten home a few hours ago and I couldn't get that man off of my mind. I decided a long bath should help but it didn't, I mulled over our conversation at the mall. Did I really walk in on him when he was having a fit over his brother leaving him. No really? Was He that immature, no, he looked to be in his mid-twenties the same as his brother, where they close in birth or are they faternal twins. They looked nothing alike but the man kept calling Marshall brother. I don't know, I slouched into the bath allowing only my face to pop out of the water. I closed my eyes and breathed out loudly. ***  I laid in bed after the long bath, I was dressed in disney PJ's. I slowly fell to sleep. After a few hours I started to dream. The dream felt as if it was a memory, I was at work and it was my break time, I had finished my usual shots of Tequilla and was heading out the back door for a cigarette. As I lit it I could hear grunts and groans of pain so I went around the corner to the other side of the alleyway, The place looked like something from a horror movie. There was blooded painting the floor and a man clutching his chest before falling. As he fell another man came into view, it was the same man from the bar, the sandy blonde hair and blue eyes closely matching mine, I couldn't forget his face, he was so handsome. He looked at me rather pissed off and ran at me, I was to focused on the man dead on the floor to notice he was stood infront of me. He shook me and demanded I looked at him, when I didn't I looked into his eyes and it was as if his eyes were controlling me, I heard him repeat the same words. 'Forget what you saw, forget you say me, forget that you saw a dead man in the alleyway, go back to work and fnish your shift.' The he turned me away and I walked away as if nothing had happened as if I didn't witness a man die infront of me. I didn't understand. I jumped out off sleep and felt the sweat pouring from me, I headache attacked me and I groan and laid back down on the bed and curled up into a ball. I regulated my breathing and then thought about the dream, but it wasn't a dream I was thinking of it was an event that had actually happened. I gasped at the realisation. ****
