Today started just like any other. I got up and had breakfast, and then me and Dad went to the basement for training. After training, I showered and went out shopping for groceries.
A couple of hours later, I returned home with the groceries to find the Beta, taking my parents from our house. I knew I had to remain calm. Snow was growling protectively in my head.
"Hello Mum, Dad, where are you going," I asked, curiously and calmly.
"Beta Jones said Alpha James wants to speak with us at the packhouse, baby girl. Oohh, before we go, there was a phone call for you, it was the call you were waiting for, to do with that fashion show and getting a couple of your dress designs on their cat walk. I told her, you would call her back today. Well done, baby, we are soo proud of you. We always will be. We love you with all our hearts," Dad said calmly, pulling me and Mum into a warm embrace with a huge smile on his face.
"Thank you so much for telling me. I live to make you both proud and I love you both too. I will call them right away. And I will see you both later," I replied, trying to keep my tone level.
"We will see you later, honey," Mum smiled, kissing my cheek.
"Come on, get a move on Alpha James wants to see you both now. Violet, make sure you stay indoors and do not leave the house," Beta Jones ordered, through gritted teeth.
I nodded and waved bye to Dad and Mum, before grabbing the groceries and heading indoors. The moment the door shut, a strange feeling hit me. That maybe the last time I ever see my parents. But, Dad said the code word. I knew I didn't have long, but I still had to wait until nightfall. Leave this place under the cover of the dark.
I rushed to put the shopping away, before racing upstairs into my room. I looked around my bedroom. What do I do first? I grabbed my go-handbag out from under my bed, placing it on my bed, before turning and pulling out my car keys from my bedside drawer. I put the keys in my jean pocket. I have prepared for this my whole life, and yet I never felt this stressed before.
I stopped, taking a deep breath. I opened my wardrobe. It was a small walk-in wardrobe. I sped around it, taking my clothes off the shelves and placing them in my extra large suitcase. Once the shelves were empty of clothes, I turned my attention to the clothes on the hangers. I took the clothing from the hangers and folded it before putting it in the suitcase. I folded it in such a hurry it appeared like it had been thrown in. Next, I emptied the drawers of all my lingerie, socks, tights, and swimwear. I zipped it up, before checking the time. They have been with Alpha James for two hours now. I need to pick up the pace.
I grabbed my large suitcase, and began chucking all my shoes and bags in there. I made quick work of that, because I literally threw them in. I grabbed my sketch books, and pens and pencils too, putting them in the suitcase too. I zipped it up.
I took one last look at my room. There was not anything else I needed. I saw the photo frame on my side that contained a photo of me and my parents. I put that in my handbag. I had to take it. Now, it was time to load the car.
I carried two boxes full of my fashion designing materials and tools downstairs, and into the garage. I unlocked the car, opened the boot and put the boxes inside. I shut the boot and ran back upstairs into my room. I grabbed both my suitcases and carried them downstairs. Opening the boot again and putting my suitcases inside.
Shit!! Tolietries, I knew I had forgotten something. I raced back upstairs and into my ensuite bathroom. I grabbed my washbag, put shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion, razors and feminine products, inside it. I also grabbed my make-up bag from the ensuite. I went back to my wardrobe and grabbed the dresses that were in the dress bags. There were six of them. I carried them downstairs and into the garage. I put them all in the boot and shut it. I locked the car and put the keys back in my pocket.
I returned to my room, sat on my bed, and plugged in the new phone that was stored in my handbag. I allowed it to charge fully, and by that point the sun was setting and Snow was getting impatient, pacing in my head.
"I don't like waiting. We should kill Alpha James and save our parents," Snow grumbled.
"If we do that, he will know what we are. He put us in prison, then he will force us to mate his son. Do you want that? I don't, and neither do our parents. We have to leave as soon as it gets dark," I replied, looking out the window.
I have to admit, I hate waiting too. My eyes blurred over for a moment. When my vision cleared, I was able to see my parents. Dad was badly beaten. I could feel his pain. Mum was crying, she had been beaten too. Alpha James struck Mum, before shouting, "What is your daughter? Are you trying to raise her to kill me?"
Mum just shook her head, "We will never tell you anything. We love our daughter. We would die to keep her safe."
"As you wish, but she won't ever be safe," hissed Alpha James, as he snapped Dad's neck before turning and snapping Mum's neck.
Suddenly, I was back in my room. The pain I felt, I knew they were gone. Snow was howling loudly in my head. Tears streamed down my face. I have to move now.
I pulled my charger from the socket and threw it in my handbag. Grabbing my phone and jacket, before racing downstairs. I raced into my parents' office. I grabbed four photo albums. I don't know why I ran there but I did.
I quickly made my way through the kitchen and into the garage. I heard a lot of movement in the distance, as I unlocked my car. Putting my handbag and the photo albums in the car on the passenger seat, before putting my jacket on. I slipped into my car, shut the door and put my seat belt on. I locked the car doors, as I heard a knock at the front door. They are here for me. I turned the engine on, and slammed my foot down on the escalator. The car sped off, smashing through the garage doors.
I didn't stop or slow down. I drove as fast as I could. I got on to the freeway off of the Blue Moon packlands. I pulled my phone out, and held down number 2 on the dialing screen. It speed dialled my Auntie Zara. It began ringing.
"Hello Violet, are you okay," Zara's voice came through the phone.
"Listen, I am on my way to you now. Mum and Dad are dead. Alpha James killed them. He was going to force me to mate with his son. I am on the freeway now," I sobbed.
"Finn, get up. We need to see King Robert now. I will tell King Robert, you are on your way here. Drive safe," Zara sniffled.
I could tell she was holding back the tears, as was I.
"I should be there by dawn. See you soon," I replied, before cutting off the phone.
I reached into my handbag with one hand, pulled out my MP3 player and plugged it in to my aux in port. Then I hit play. I turned the music up loud. I kept checking my rear view mirrors to make sure I wasn't being followed. Thankfully, there is not much traffic on the road at this time of night. Six hour drive, until I reach the Lycan pack, and Zara and Finn. Six hours until dawn. Snow was pacing in my head, whining. She hated that we couldn't protect our parents, but they always said it was their responsibility to protect us, not the other way around.
"Snow, I know you hate this. I do too. But, let's promise each other something. Let's promise that we will make them proud of us, that when we have our own pups we will tell them of their grandparents' brave sacrifice and tell tales of our parents to them," I declared to her.
Snow nodded in my mind. It cheered her up knowing one day we would make them proud and tell our children of their grandparents. With our promise to one another, we continued pressing on to the Lycan pack.
