“Lock her in!”
The Alpha’s voice came aloud to the men who held me bound.
I weep as I am cast into the dungeon.
It was a dark place and it was empty.
Thank goodness for the holes in the wall through which light from outside reflected through.
It would have been complete darkness in here.
I crawled around as I could still feel the sharp pain in my back. It aches.
My wolf was quiet. A terrible being. Only helps in the most awkward situation.
I hadn’t recovered fully.
I couldn’t blame Laura or the other lady, they couldn’t have done anything. He was the Alpha and his words were final.
I sat on the ground and wept bitterly.
I thought my suffering had come to an end.
I just got myself into another.
I was alone for days and felt like ending my life with my bare hands.
But I couldn’t.
The air was polluted and I felt nauseated.
“How do I survive this hell?” I pondered.
Just while I sat there in isolation, I went deep into thought.
The thoughts of my baby sister invaded my mind and tears rolled down my eyes.
I remember that fateful night.
It was serene, I recall.
My hometown, that night.
The streets was at peace. Mother was already asleep and Father was on a call and seemed to be in a hot argument with the person on the phone.
I was just in front of the house with my baby sister after I had patted my brother to sleep inside.
She loved to sit outside and watch the stars so I did that every night with her.
It makes her fall asleep.
She tried calling the attention of Father to a beautiful single star in the sky but he was occupied with the call and didn’t respond.
“Hey, I’m here. Dad would join us when he is done, alright? I said softly as I played with her cute little hands.
If only I knew the night would end badly, I would have taken her inside.
I blame myself sometimes for allowing her stay up late.
While we were staring at the starry sky, an awkward silence hovered the air.
The crickets stopped chirping and it was like everything stood still
Even Father noticed and he stopped and looked back at us.
His nose got bigger like he was trying to catch a scent. It happened in a flash.
A huge wolf flew across, snatching my sister from my hands.
It held her in its mouth.
I was still a teenager and I never thought of transforming.
I stood up immediately to defend myself. Father taught us a few moves and I was ready to put them to use.
My sister cried out as she hangs downwards from the wolf’s big teeth.
Before I knew it, I saw another wolf attacked my father pulling him into the woods.
“Please don’t hurt her,” I said, out of fear.
The wolf didn’t think twice. He stared at me and in the blink of an eye, he threw my sister into the air and opened his mouth wide to catch her.
He tore her to pieces right in front of me
“Nooooooooooooo!” I screamed.
I couldn’t do anything.
I stared in fright as he tore my sister’s body in bits and ate her flesh.
I lost myself in that spot and everything became dark and bloody.
I couldn’t watch the sight.
I couldn’t even recognize her anymore.
Apparently, everywhere was raided and I could hear screams of pain and agony from all over.
Blood splashed and stained the buildings and street floors.
I stood still.
My mother rushed out and seeing the almost unrecognized structure of her daughter lying in front of the wolf, she screamed and fell on her knees.
I didn’t understand one thing.
“Why the wolf stood in front of her body and didn’t move afterwards?” It stood there and stared at us like it was expecting us to attack.
Well, Mother later did.
After falling on her knees, she transformed and snarled at the wolf.
It stepped back and I saw mother attack it.
They rolled down the grass field in front of the house.
My body still couldn’t move like I was paralyzed.
I just stood. A massive shock, you would call it. I Just watched my sister murdered in cold blood.
I could feel blood rushing through my veins as I stood there but I still didn’t move.
My eyes were heavy and it was difficult to look to the side.
Someone hit me.
“Get inside, Bella,” the lady shouted.
She lived close to our house. She dragged me as I didn’t answer and locked the door behind her.
It was then I fell to the ground and hit my head on the floorboard.
As I dive into unconsciousness, I could still hear the screams from outside but this time around, they had become feint.
And before I knew it, I was in motion.
All I could hear was “Don’t stop,”
I was on someone’s shoulder who I believed was my father, the insignia on his cloth came in my line of sight as I opened my eyes slightly as he ran.
Mother was beside him and my younger brother kept crying as Mother held his hands and her legs were moving fast.
I don’t know where we were heading to but I figured Father and Mother were able to get out of the house safely from the werewolf
But were we being followed or chased? That I don’t know.
I saw another figure running beside Mother.
It must be our neighbor. The one who dragged me away from the horrific scene outside then.
She was also on the run with us.
“I think they are onto us, Jim,” I heard her say to my father.
“We can make it. Just keep going.”
“I’d distract them. You guys go on ahead,” she said.
“No, don’t,” Father warned but I saw her turn into a wolf and turned back.
She sacrificed herself to save us.
“Bella! Bella!! Bella!!!”
“Wake up!” a voice echoed in my ears, snapping me out of my thoughts.
I opened my eyes to find out I was still in the dungeon
But my attention caught something else.
The owner of the voice was standing right in from me.
“It can’t be. No! How did you……….”
