Chapter 2: Angel

1396 Words
5 years ago Valentino Romano's POV I felt weak and dizzy with the lack of food and water in my body. I looked around in the streets but my vision blurred. I shook my head to get my vision back as I kept swaying side to side losing energy. I felt like the world was spinning as I looked up at the dark starry sky. Just then a voice called out to me. It was so angelic and musical to my ears but I didn't know where it was coming from.  "Sir, are you ok?" a female voice asked me. I slowly opened my eyes as they were closed due to the dizziness and saw a blurred figure in front of me. It looked like a young girl probably a young teen. She came closer to me and helped me sit up straight. I could hear some ruffling sounds as she took something out of a bag. I then felt an object on my lips, "Here drink some water" she offered. I opened my lips and took big gulps of water as she held my head softly. I then held the water bottle and chugged all the water down my throat so fast as I was so thirsty.  Once I finished drinking the water my vision slowly became clear. I looked up at the girl who was so kind to help me. My eyes first locked in with her beautiful emerald green eyes. It was like I was bewitched by her eyes. They were so powerful yet so beautiful. My eyes then travelled down to her cute small red button nose. I then looked down to her pink plump lips which had a cute smile on. She was so beautiful and innocent. She tilted her head and looked at me in confusion. "Are you ok sir?" she asked me with her sweet voice. I nodded at her as I couldn't find my voice to speak. She then looked at my arms and legs and gasped as she took in all my wounds with her beautiful wide eyes. She was so cute. "Oh my, sir you are hurt" she said as she sat crossed legs on the floor in front of me. She softly touched my cut making me hiss which made her flinch back. "I am sorry" she apologised as I stared at her face with so many emotions I didn't even understood myself.  She then got her bag and started to take something out. Her tongue was stuck out of her lips which made me chuckle silently. She looked around 14 or 15 years old. She then took out a plastic box container and placed it on my lap. She started to take something else out of her bag which made me look at her in confusion.  'How much things did she have in her bag?', I asked mentally as I laughed on that thought. She took out a little leather pouch and unzipped it. She then started to clean my wounds and lastly stuck on a cute smiley faced plaster on my cuts which made me chuckle as she smiled at me. Her smile, it was so enchanting, so angelic. She then took the plastic container from my lap that she put their earlier and opened it. In the box was a sandwich with an apple and a chocolate bar. "Here have this, you must be hungry" she said as she pushed the box towards me. I felt so much warmth by her affection as tears swelled in my eyes. Her face changed into a sad one as she wiped my tears with her warm hands. "Don't cry, I will pray to god for you, he will sort out all your problems" she said sweetly which made me smile at her. I was so affected by her attitude towards me. She was so kind, so generous. No one has shown me so much emotion since I became homeless. In fact no one has shown me so much affection in my whole life exluding my beautiful, loving mother. Looks like god really sent me help, he sent me an angel. I looked at the sandwich in hunger as my stomach growled. I licked my lips and then looked back at her. She was waiting for me to eat but I was confused why her box was filled with food. It looked like her lunch for school but why wasn't it empty. "A-are you not hungry?" I asked her for the first time. She smiled at me and said "No, and don't worry you can eat this, I don't eat at school" she said but I felt bad, she must be hungry. She looked at me as if she understood what I was thinking. "Please, don't worry about me, you can eat this" she said ever so kindly. I was so thankful to her and dug into the food like a mad man. She chuckled at me as I ate. Her laugh was music to my ears.  "What are you doing on the streets so late at night?" I asked her in concern as she was really young and a lot of crime happens on the streets at night. She smiled at me and said "I come here to feed the poor, I get happiness through it and plus I know self-defence so the streets don't scare me" she said with confident. I was so impressed with her. What a kind heart she has.  She then took out her wallet and took out £50. She took my hand and placed the money in my hands. I looked at her with wide eyes and shook my head rejecting so much money. £50 was a lot. "Please don't reject this, you need it more than me. I am from a rich family but all they ever do is waste money, they don't know the value of money, so please accept this, it will make me happy" she said softly placing the money tightly in my palm.  She was so different and rare. There weren't many people like her making me want to protect her and hide her from the evil world. I felt a need to protect her but shrugged the feeling off. She was so kind and I was touched by her sweet talks and guesters. "Thank you so much" I said as I hugged her tightly making her gasp in shock. I felt so much warmth and comfort from her hug. She patted my back and hugged me back wishing me all the best. I didn't want her to go, I wanted her to stay with me forever but she had a family to go back to.  "Thank you" I thanked her once again with a tear in my eye. She smiled at me then took something off from her neck. It was a long necklace that had a small crystal to it at the bottom. She placed the necklace over my head onto my neck and said, "If you are in need of  any money then you could sell this, it's worth a lot of money, it will help you a lot" She said but little did she know I was going to cherish this for life. This was going to be a memory of her to me and I will never take it off.  I realized I didn't know the young dove's name. "What is your na-" just when I was going to complete my sentence her phone rang. She jumped slightly and attended her call. She frowned and then cut the call. She looked back at me and walked towards me, bending down to get her bag. "I have to go sir, my mother is waiting for me, she is worried so I have to leave. I wish you all the best, May god be with you always" She said with a smile and ran away. I shouted for her but she disappeared in the darkness. I didn't even get to know her name but I am sure it would have been beautiful just like her. I touched the necklace she gave me and smiled. "I hope to meet you soon dove, very soon". **** Present  "Where are you my little dove?, I miss you so much" I whispered as I kissed the crystal that was connected with the chain around my kneck.
