CHAPTER 03 : BLACK BOX

THE NOISE became louder as the growlings from the second floor overpowered their fear.
"Please let me through---" due to the crowd, Roes was dragged down and got herself back to the lower ground.
After reaching the ground they immediately spotted the dead body in the hallway and recognized the same teacher they were much familiar with.
"I-Its Sir Bessemor!!!"
"AH!!"
The noise became louder again, they all started to panic and ran in every direction, spreading like ants.
Roes can't help but to panic too, still tried to go upstairs but everytime, she's being bumped and finally lose grip of the black box. It slide towards the dead body of their teacher.
But from all of the noise and fears, the dead body who was lying down twitched in an unnoticed manner but Roes saw it, her eyes widened and fear finally crawled into her body and mind.
"This can't be..."
She froze as the dead body continued to twitch, the skin were tearing down and the flesh started to get exposed in the air, oozing with black blood.
It growled.
All of the students present froze.
"W-What's happening now?" a girl cried looking at the body rising from the ground.
"Run."
"RUN!!!!"
They all frantically moved to and fro and the noises made the dead body moved in a swifter manner and jumped in towards the nearest student. It plunged like of a savage animal and teared off it's skin, they've witnessed the flesh being bit down as the blood splashed all around.
"AHHH!!!!!" Compare to before they were all running in no directions which made the 'monster' come to them easily.
And the growling from the second floor became louder too, 'those' were also going downward.
Roes immediately ran for the black box shivering, "I need.... I need to secure this first." She took it on her chest.
She rose up but froze, as the 'monster' was facing her. Sir Bessemor may have been the most strict person but they all knew his appearance with the squidward-like face and too much unfriendliness however, it was too different as far as Roes remembered, all she can see is his eyes was bloodshot red, paled skin and dark veins were visible in his face. It was bending it's stretched upper body to face her head to head, black and red liquids can be seen all over his body.
The girl shivered in utmost fear not intending to move an inch but all of a sudden, the monster went away when another scream was heard from other direction. It left her as if she's not visible to its sight.
Roes heaved to take some air, she didn't breathe from the fear as the monster faced her head on. Due to this, her lungs which were just recovered started to ache again. She panted but was determined to get herself out of here and continued to walk out without turning back.
Finally reaching the outside made Roes witnessed how the Academy was already in severe crisis. Fires were already consuming the east building. The students were screaming, wounded and dead, and some have been infected. Black and red blood was oozing out of their eyes or nose, they don't run like humans... they were more like savage beasts chasing those who were trying to escape.
"Help! H-Help me!" one girl cried in front of her touching Roes bare hands with blood.
"H-Help I need to get outside I need to-----augh--augh." the girl whose eyes are bloodshot begged as she trembled and stutter. But her body suddenly twitched in an unpleasant manner and her eyeballs are already white from rolling.
Roes stepped back and ran.
"I-I'm sorry." she's worried about Mila and the others but she kept hold of the Doctor's last instruction to her. To keep the black box safe and get out from here.
When she passed down a small alley in between the east and main building, someone took her arm and dragged her there.
"Sshh!" it was Troy
"The others are here. Come!" he dragged her towards the deeper part of the Alley, going to the eastyard of the Academy where the edge of the borders are in.
"Troy?" she whispered
The boy turned to her and winked.
She sighed in relief, "Where's the others?"
"Here, but not everyone." he answered as they reached the open space where a thick wall was just between them and the dark woods.
At the right side were a small storage room.
"How about Mila?" she asked
"Don't worry, that woman was quick enough."
She sighed in relief again, atleast things were lighter in her chest.
They knocked on the panel door.
"Password.." the one from inside responded
"Zombie Attack." Troy answered
"Wrong."
"WHAT?!" Troy exclaimed
"We changed it a minute ago." the guy inside remarked
"Don't make me bust this door Jin." Troy warned.
"Oh yeah?" Jin replied.
"You-----Ah!" someone bumped into him inside
"Don't Mila! We don't know if it's infected or in a critical stage of transforming! We must reaffirm their sanity!"
"Shut up Jin, if Troy's infected I'm just gonna aim for the head, right--straight up slashing." the girl's voice inside took something as she opened the door slowly.
Mila peaked and her eyes widened as she saw Roes. "Hey Chicken!!" she slammed the door open and approached Roes leaving the sickle behind.
"Where have you been?!" Mila asked completely concerned.
She froze as she saw the blood on Roes hands and whispered, "Are you bitten?"
But it didn't escape from Jin's ears, "BITTEN?!" he immediately took the sickle and courageously approached Roes.
"Hey, Hey, Hey Jin calm down a bit." Troy stopped him "You're over reacting."
"I am not. Are you sure she's not infected? Even a scratch can make her transform into something.... You see there!" Jin, the geek is in panic in his own way.
Troy is convinced and turned to Roes, "Are you bitten or do you have any wounds?"
Roes shaked her head. "No, none."
"Then that blood, where's that came from?" Jin asked.
"From the girl who asked for my help." she answered
"Where's she?" Jin asked
"Got transformed." Roes replied honestly
"See!!---" but they all stopped when they heard some growling coming their way.
"Hurry! Hurry! Go inside!"
"B-But---" Jin argued but he was dragged along inside the dark and small storage room.
"We don't even know if she's infected or not!" Jin added when they finally entered and closed the door shut.
"Shut up Jin or I'll bust your mouth down until you die." Mila warned.
"Such muscles Milatrix." Troy remarked
"You too?" Mila asked
"Can you all shut up? They're near!" they all turned to someone who talked at the dark corner of the room, it was Connan.
"They'll come if they'll come, do you think the door can protect us? Can we even manage to kill one with these gardening tools?" Troy stated pointing to the sickle and water container.
"Yes! If you just stop bringing someone over here!" Jin argued back, he was the who originally hid here and got seen by Troy then upon surveying when the infection got spread, he saw Mila and Connan in panic in the area and immediately guided them here.
"You're just a douche Jinn~~~" Troy pinched his cheeks, expressing his temper.
"I'm serious about this," he took Troy's hands off on him "...the attacks has already appeared 2 days ago in the country. And you the, hermit people of Holshire didn't knew about this because you completely disregarded the local news!" Jin expressed himself
"Do you mean the trending issue about the zombie apocalypse?" Troy retorted
"And those with the viral videos?" Mila added frowned in confusion
Jin eyed her, "Why do you look so unsure, disgusted and frowning? Even now, you don't believe that it's already a start of zombie apocalypse?" he remarked as he got closer
"Get your face out of mine." She took his face out of her sight "It's just that... it's too sudden."
Roes remembered something, "Mila your mother..." but she stopped when Mila's head went low
Mila started in a grim tone, "She didn't come, she contacted me 3 days ago and since then, we haven't contacted each other. When I called her earlier... It's still out of reach."
"Didn't I told you Zombie Apocalypse started 2 days ago? That's the reason why the Academy shuts its gate!" Jin in an arrogant tone and Troy managed to hit him with his elbow.
"So it's either we die or be transformed as dead walks." Cannon stated in the corner, having the look of someone who lost all hope.
"Exactly." Jin agreed expressing his acceptance to this fate.
Silence occured in the dark room. A very depressing atmosphere sucked them all up.
"Well..." Roes courageously broke the frustrating silence
"...I've got something that I was instructed to fulfill in an utmost importance but... haven't explained much about it but I think this deals with the current occurrences."
She pointed out the black box.
