The two girls spent the whole evening binging on supernatural reruns while ogling Sam and Dean.
“Come on Livy don’t tell me you are one of those girls that just drool over brainless Dean.” Olivia gasped as if horrified,
“How dare you call my boyfriend brainless.” Rose couldn’t help but bust out into a fit of giggles, to which Olivia joined in. When the girls wound down Olivia said,
“Ya know I never had this before.”
“A supernatural marathon?”
“No a friend.” Rose highly doubted that. Olivia was drop dead gorgeous. Olivia had curves that any woman would die for, not to mention a nice tan beautiful long black hair.
“I find that hard to believe, who wouldn’t want to be your friend?” Olivia looked down as a sign of uncertainty.
“Most people only want to be friends with me cause of my dad or step-brother.”
“Who are your dad and stepbrother?” Rose asked completely clueless.
“You really don’t know do you?” Olivia asked in shock.
“No, I told you I’m not from Chicago, I had to fight to get my parents to let me come here, they don’t think I will make it here. That I’m too naive,” Rose stated embarrassed.
“Well I don’t believe that!” Olivia said vehemently, and rose wanted to believe her. However Roselyn knew her parents were right. Rose spent her whole high school career studying, the one time she ventured out, prom night it was a disaster. Rose didn’t want to think about why her social life was nonexistent, she wanted to hear why Olivia thought hers was.
“Well they have their reasons, but tell me about yours.”
“Well my dad was a boxer, and he trains MMA fighters.” Rose must be missing something.
“I don’t get it.” Olivia looked at her like she was dumb, heck maybe she was. She really didn’t have a social life, or social media after the event.
“Dad’s fighters go to the UFC.” She remembered that Kevin James movie “here comes the boom” where he trained and got to the climax of the movie and fight in a UFC match. Roselyn understood that was the equivalent to “making it” the same way every hockey player wanted to make it in the NHL or baseball player wanted to play in the NBL. Sadly it just didn’t mean much to her cause she didn’t watch sports.
“I’m not being an i***t or obtuse, I just don’t play or watch sports, so I don’t see why this is such a big deal for you. I mean I’m not belittling what your father and stepbrother are doing by any means. I think it’s great. I just don’t get why you wouldn’t have any friends.”
“Well no one wanted to be friends with me. The guys in school wanted to use me to try and train with my dad. The girls in school were like the girls from tonight, they wanted to use me to get introduced to fighters so they could hook up with them. You are literally the first person who left a party of fighters to hang out with me, just me.” Olivia explained fully to Rose, and she couldn’t imagine living like that. Always being used by people.
“People are assh*les.” Rose said simply. Olivia let out a small chuckle,
“Yeah they really are.” Olivia sighed sadly.
“I won’t lie I had no idea those guys from the party were fighters, but even if I did I would have left with you, they scared me.” Rose admitted. Olivia looked at her with sympathy,
“I’m sorry we should have just went to the club, but everyone insisted we go to Kane’s.”
“It’s ok, the club would have scared me too, I’m definitely not what you would call a social butterfly.” Rose was embarrassed to admit it.
“We can change that, I mean it’s college, it the time to find yourself.” Olivia encouraged and Rose thought about it.
“Yeah I definitely want to find out who I am, what about you?”
“Yeah I want to find out who I am too,” Olivia said.
“Sounds like a plan!” Rose was so excited to have a friend for the first time in her life. She just hoped the rug wouldn’t get pulled out from her.
Kane POV
Kane was winding down his daily work out by pounding away at the punching bag. The familiar wack was easing his earlier anger.

Kane heard Joey come up behind him.
“Hey kid you want to tell me what earlier with Jake was about?”
“Whose Jake?” Kane said trying to play dumb. Kane knew who Joe meant even if he didn’t know the dumb kids name.
“Don’t give me that sh*t, your sparring session earlier when you totally massacred that poor young kid.” Joe said giving him a firm tone that meant he wasn’t putting up with Kane’s bullshit.
“That kid has a smart mouth,” Kane stated.
“Explain.” Kane told him what had happened last night. When he was done Joey let out a loud sigh,
“Look Kane you know I love you like my own son, always have and always will. But you need to figure out a way to deal with your anger, this is going too far.”
“But-“ he tried protesting but Joe simply held up his hand, s**t Kane knew that face.
“You think I haven’t had to deal with this crap my whole life, people hurting my daughter trying to get to me? If I dealt with it like you did I’d be in jail by now.” Kane let out a loud sigh, hating how he disappointed Joey. Joe clapped a hand over his shoulder,
“We will figure it out Kane, good news looks like we get to add some one else to Sunday supper,” Kane was confused for a minute. Then he realized who Joe meant and he couldn’t help but feel sorry for the poor girl. Joey Romano was one hundred percent Italian, and Sunday dinner was always a big affair. It took his mom years for her to fit in with his family, if he remembered correctly Joey actually had to sit his traditional Italian mother down and have a talk with her saying if his family didn’t accept him and his mother there would he no more Sunday dinners. Kane respected him tenfold after that, he wanted to call him dad, but something always held him back. He wasn’t sure exactly what it was. Kane went back to punching the bag.
