The Ryder Legacy

Mr. and Mrs. Liam Ryder, a sophisticated business person, were among the wealthiest couples in town and they were blessed with a son, after fifteen years of marriage,Ethan Pierce Ryder.
He was their only child in the world and they provide for him everything anybody can think of in this world.
One day as they're watching TV in one of the spacious and cozy living rooms in the mansion. Ethan's mom, Mrs Ryder, moved closer to her husband and said,"Liam, don't you think it's time Ethan got married?
He's twenty_six already, and we need to make sure the continuation of our family's legacy moves on forever."
Her husband,Mr.Ryder shook his head to show sign of agreement to his wife's suggestion.
"Sure,my dear.We must talk to Ethan to get married soon,he is now a grown man.
The future of our business empire depends on him."he said, nodding his head as he continued watching the TV.
They sent for Ethan,who was in the mansion already to say hi to his parents.
Ethan Mom,Mrs. Ryder started the discussion. "Ethan, dear, we think it's time you get married.
You're no more a baby, you are twenty-six this year, and we are not getting younger too."she looked at her husband before continuing her speech, so what we're trying to tell you is that you should try as much as possible to bring a wife for us."she said softly.
Ethan was not comfortable with his parents idea,he readjusted himself in his seat, avoiding eye contact with his parents.
"Dad,Mom,I am sorry,l don't prepare for any marriage presently. I have other plans and goals to focus on."Ethan said looking down.
Ethan Dad,Mr. Ryder frowned.and shouted.
"What do you mean, Ethan."Plans and goals? You mean you don't have a girlfriend at your age? What could be more essential than this business empire? What could be more important than this family's legacy?
"You have to be serious with your life, Ethan."Mr Ryder said, stood up and left.
Mrs Ryder held her son's hand to talk but Ethan spoke before she could even say anything.
"I know exactly what you want to say,Mom, but i'm not ready for marriage now, when the time comes,l will surely notify you,
"Can l focus on my business and my goals for a while?"
Mrs Ryder sighed, trying to reason with her son?"
"But you can copy with marriage and your goals together, see Ethan, your parents are not getting younger,we need to see our grandchildren and the future of this prestigious family's legacy.
Mrs. Ryder's expression turned stern. "Ethan, we won't take this from you.
You must do as we say and marry a good woman. We've already arranged a few pretty girls for you to select."
"Mom, you and Dad, did what?" Ethan's face looks pale immediately.
My parents really want me to get married."he whispered to himself looking at his mom's eyeballs.
He knew he had to do something fast to convince them, so he stood up and put his hand across his mom's shoulder .
"Mom,l will take my leave now and call you back later."Ethan Pierce said.
"Okay, my dear." and don't forget our discussion."Mrs Ryder said to her son.
"Okay,Mom. I will."he said and peck her mother cheeks before he left the mansion
Ethan was laying on his bed, lost in thought, remembering his discussion with his parents a few days ago.
He had just returned from a business trip abroad and was still trying to process their words.
Suddenly,his phone rang and he picked it up.
"Hello, Ethan, my son,"her Mom said.
"Hello, Mom,"he replied .
"We've already arranged a few pretty girls for you to select." Ethan is trying to recollect what his Mom said.
"I couldn't believe what I was hearing from Mom.
"Which pretty girls,Mom."Ethan Pierce asked immediately.
"Yes, Ethan, because we haven't seen you with any girl before, and we're desperate for you to settle down and give us grandchildren,"Mrs Ryder answered.
"I was frustrated" Are you guys desperate to that extent? Ethan asked her mom.
"You are always talking about family legacy and business empire.
"Can't you just let me live my life?"he added.
Mr. Liam Ryder, Ethan's father , collected the phone from his wife and chimed in, his voice firm.
"Ethan, we're only thinking about your future. We want to see you happy, with a good wife and children. That's what this family needs from you presently."
He shook his head as if they were seeing him.
"But I'm only twenty-six! I just want to focus on my own goals and dreams before I get married?"
Etha mother's expression softened slightly. "Ethan, we just want what's best for you. And what's best for you is a good marriage and making your own family."
"Fine, I'll consider your decision, But I'm not promising anything for now."he sighed and felt trapped.
"That's all we ask for, son,"his father said.
He couldn't believe that his parents were trying to control his life, and he wasn't sure how much longer he could tolerate it.
"To be sincere, I am not ready for any marriage now , since she left me for another man."he murmured to himself.
He stood and gazed at the wall,he quickly pushed his thinking aside and gazed at the wall clock again, he remembered his appointment with Avira and sprang into action.
He changed into another outfit and took his car keys, and went out of his apartment. He made a sign to the security man to open the gate and he sped off towards Avira's house.
As he was driving to Avira house, Ethan was eager to see Avira's beautiful face again and chat with her.
"I don't know why, but I just love being around her," he whispered to himself, a smile spreading across his face.
When he arrived at her house, Ethan parked outside the gate and horn to notify her of his presence. He waited patiently, his eyes fixed on the door, looking forward to seeing her.
He picked her phone and dialed Avira's phone number,but it was switched off.
He dropped the phone and focused on the house gate.
Avira had already dressed and was waiting patiently for Ethan. She would peeped from the gate and checked lf the car was parked outside since she already has a low battery.
After some moments, Avira appeared, looking beautiful in her yellow sundress. Ethan's heart skipped a beat as he looked at her,
"Hi, Ethan!" Avira called out, walking towards the gate. "You're right on time!"
Ethan smiled,happy to see her. "Hi, Avira! You look beautiful today."
Avira blushed, unlocking the gate. "Thanks, Ethan. Shall we?."
As Ethan drove towards the road,he felt grateful for this chance encounter.
He was excited to spend more time with Avira and get to know more about her .
Ethan and Avira drove to one of the city's biggest and beautiful restaurants in the city that belongs to the family, where Ethan had made a reservation earlier for both of them.
As both of them entered the restaurant, Avira's eyes widened in surprise, taking in the elegant decor and interior. She didn't say a word, simply pretending but admiring the beauty around her.
Ethan smiled and could read her mood immediately, happy to see Avira so impressed about the restaurant. He called the waitress over, who presented them with menu books.
"Select anything you like, Avira," "Order your favorite dishes and drinks. Tonight, it's my treat."Ethan said,his eyes beaming with happiness.
"Thank you, Ethan. You're too kind."Avira's face lit up with a smile.
The waitress handed over the menu book to Avira.
She collected the menu book from the waitress and glanced through it. Ethan asked Avira about her preferences. They chatted and laughed, enjoying each other's company.
When the food arrived, they ate each bite with joy , relishing the flavors and textures.
As they are eating Ethan turns to Avira, "Avira, I want to assist you. I know you're working at the dancing club, but I don't think it's a good fit for you. You deserve better."
"What do you mean?"Avira looked up.
"I can offer you a job at one of our companies. You'll have a stable income and a respectable position. No more stripping or going home in the late nights."Ethan said readjusted his seat
"Really? You'd do that for me?"Avira's eyes widened.
"Of course, Avira. I want to help you build a better life. What do you say?" Ethan said and nodded.
