Chapter 2: Confrontation

"How could you both do this to me?!" Katie asked in a hurt and angry tone. "And here I thought, I'll surprise you Charles, but I was the one who's surprised by the two of you! " she added mockingly.

"Darling!" Charlie said in a calming voice. "This is not what you think. I can explain!" He said earnestly while putting his clothes to rights. "We're just practicing our lines and then... then... we just ended up being carried away... "

Katie's eyes narrowed. "Do you really take me for a fool?! Who would believe such a lie?" Katie laughed mockingly as she shook her head.

When Charlie started walking towards Katie, she took a step back as she looked at him in disdain and disgust.

"Darling Katie, please... " Charlie said almost pleadingly

"Stop calling me that!" Katie glared at him. "And stop looking at me as if you're the aggrieved party here. When you're the one who's cheating behind my back with my so-called 'friend'."

"But Katie-" still Charlie was trying to reason out.

"Don't make anymore lies. I guess this is a good thing that I found about you cheating on me before the wedding."

Charlie's eyes widened. He could already imagine the shame it will bring to him and his family once everyone found out why the wedding will be canceled. the media will definitely feast on the news. lt'll be his downfall and the end of his career. His parents might even disown him because of the humiliation he'll bring to his family name.

"We can't cancel the wedding, Katie. Please. It'll cause a huge scene and scandal." He pleaded.

Katie rolled her eyes. "You should've thought of that before you decided to cheat on me behind my back with my so called friend, Charles. So don't expect that there's still a wedding that's going to happen. I'm not that stupid and a doormat."

Charles expression was remorseful and panicked, he was trying to think of a way to stop getting things out of hand. He really can't afford for his career and reputation to be ruined. He's a famous actor, and he has a lot of movies and series projects and endorsements contracts scheduled and agreed upon. And he didn't want to admit it, but Katie was more popular than him, that's why being link and engaged to Katie really bring more luck for him. He became even more popular. Katie was one of those so-called Hollywood sweethearts. So when people started knowing about why they canceled the wedding, everyone will symphatize with Katie while he'll be in ruins. Charlie can't help but berate himself with his stupidity. Why did he even let Sandra seduce him here in his hotel room at the middle of filming his current film.

Yeah, Charlie and Sandra was fooling around behind Katie's back for a while now. Sandra was jealous and envious with Katie's soaring and successful career, being the hollywood sweetheart that the media and people adored, lots of projects and has a handsome and equally successful and popular fiance, so Sandra decided to seduce Charlie. It started a few weeks before Charlie proposed to Katie and they got engaged. While Charlie tried to resist Sandra's flirting and seduction at first. He has a succesful, beautiful and popular girlfriend, what man can ask for more, right? Specially when most guys would wish they were him or jealous of him, dating the beautiful and famous Katie Park.

But then, he and Katie are always so busy with their career. Most of the time, since Katie has multiple projects going on at the same time, she's always going from one place to another. Then one time when Charlie and Sandra happened to be doing a movie together, him at a lead role while Sandra as one of the supporting characters. Sandra will always come on to him and flirt none stop. At first, he couldn't believe that Sandra would do that since she was a friend of Katie. And he hated to admit it but he was only a man and a human and became weak with Sandra's seduction.

Out of guilt and regret, after that project was done and both he and Katie has a free schedule together, he proposed to her. Thinking that everything will be alright once they were engage to be married, and that Sandra would back off. Sandra continued her pursuit of him. Charlie was weakened by her seduction, until they ended up having an affair behind Katie's back. Charlie was scared of Katie finding out about it but didn't want to end his relationship with Katie, and he's also afraid of Sandra telling Katie about them that was why their affair went on for so long. Now Charlie was regretful for being weak. Now he will lose everything and gain nothing. A very huge price because of his weakness.

"You heard her, Charles, don't bother pleading for forgiveness, it will just fall on def ears. " Sandra finally said triumphantly. It feels like she pulled one on Katie this time. So she can't help but gloat.

"Shut up, Sandra." Charlie admonished Sandra. What she was saying wasn't helping him with his situation.

Of course, Sandra would only look out for herself and revenge. She doesn't care if she ruined Charlie and Katie's relationship. It was her mission in the first place. To take what everything Katie have since she's so envious of her.

"Don't act as if I'm the only one who did something regretful. Stop being righteous since you're the cheater here. Admit that you just fall for my charm, Charles." Sandra said in a sweet but venomous tone.

Katie knew that Sandra has an attitude but she couldn't believe she'd do something this spiteful.

"Congratulations Sandra, Charlie is all yours. after all, you're always so used to have all the things that I already thrown away." Katie said mockingly.

Sandra narrowed her eyes at Katie. "You're always so high and mighty Katie, never even stepping out on that righteous pedestal of yours. If you just pay attention more to Charles, then he won't easily be seduce by me." She said snidely.

Katie couldn't help but laughed as she shook her head. "And now you're pointing fingers at me because of both your actions. How ridiculous!" she couldn't believe that Sandra had the face to tell her she was the one to blame for what happened and what they did! Unbelievable!

Katie already wasted precious minutes talking to these two, she didn't want to waste more. It's time to get this over with. She might look calm because her anger and feeling of betrayal was getting the better of her, but inside, she wanted to scream and break something! Two of the few people whose close and important to her just betrayed her!

Katie looked at Charles. "In case your brain still can't understand we're over and our wedding is off." then to Sandra. "Goodluck. Since you love to cling to everything I threw away, he's all yours." then Katie walked out of the door.

Sandra narrowed her eyes at Katie.

Charlie started running after Katie. "Kate! Darling! Wait-!"

"Charles!" while Sandra yelled out Charlie's name as she followed him.

Katie's assistant and bodyguards followed silently behind her.

Katie was glaring in front of the elevator. When she just made her dramatic grand exit and had the last word, now her exit plan was ruined because of this damn elevator.

'Come up already!' Katie yelled inside her head as she frantically and nonstop with pushing the call button for the elevator. She didn't want to see Charles or Sandra's face again! She wanted to leave this place and forget everything.

Katie took a deep breath and sighed. Then she frowned when she heard Charlie calling her, and then Sandra calling after Charlie.

Impatiently, Katie decided to use the emergency staircase to leave the hotel. She walked hurriedly to the emergency staircase, ignoring the yellings and callings that Charlie and Sandra was doing. Now she was really annoyed with them and just wanted to leave.

Katie finally made it inside the emergency staircase, and she hurriedly start to descend the stairs. Since they were still several floors down. She planned on just going to a few floors down before trying for the elevator again. She wasn't crazy. She knew it'll took so long and so much energy to just use the staircase from where she was currently at and down to the first floor.

Katie only made it down a few steps when Charlie caught up to her and held her by one of her arms.

"Kate, wait, please!" he begged.

"Let go of me, Charlie. There's nothing for us to talk about! " Katie hissed at him as she tried to pry her arm off his hold.

"I'm sorry, I'll make things right. Give me a chance, please."

"No. Like I said, we're over." Katie said with finality.

"Listen to her Charles and stop begging for her forgiveness. She won't change her mind no matter what you say. There's a reason why she's also called as The Ice Princess. Once she made up her mind, she won't change it." Sandra told Charles after she made it to them.

"Oh yeah?" Katie raised her brow at Sandra challengingly. "And what do they call you Sandra? I also heard that you really like seducing married and commited men, since it's a rumour at first then I didn't bother to believe it, but seeing how you seduce my ex fiance, now I'm not surprise. So it's not really surprising when some people said that the only reason why you got some acting jobs for minor roles was because of your 'connections' with those men. So what do they call you again?" she asked baitingly then she looked at Charlie, "Careful Charlie, if I were you I'd visit your doctor as soon as possible."

Charlie was dumbfounded. Now besides his ruined relationship, and possible ruining of his career and reputation, he has to concern himself regarding his health too? All because of Sandra!

While Sandra's face darkened with hate and contempt.

"Damn you Katie!" then she slapped Katie's face with so much anger and hate.

Katie was stunned, and then she retaliated. Katie slapped back Sandra's face.

Charlie started to seperate both of them while telling them to 'stop already!' so he ended up being the recipient of some of those slaps and hair pulling.

The stunned bodyguards who was a few paced behind them started to approach and intervene, while Katie's assistant started to call for more reinforcement.

But it was too late, with a slight wrong move and push, Katie was airborne before she descended and fell down the steps of the long staircase.

While Katie was shocked as she felt herself flew to the stairs. Because of the two person who betrayed her, she ended up like this. She refused to accept this. Specially when she looked at Sandra who looked rather pleased with herself and Charles who was full of remorse and yet a little relieved. Why? because if something happened to her, he'll end up being a 'berieve' fiance instead of a cheater, and it'll save his reputation.

Katie can't forgive them. She will never forgive them!

Katie's head and body struck concrete and metal.

And everything went dark.
