Chapter 8

KALEB Jesus, I never imagined my mate would give me so much, and Demi has. All through the rest of the night and into midday, we f****d. I had her in all positions, and the sounds that came from her had Shadow and me wanting her to hear them more. The more she screamed, the more we f****d. I looked to my side; I couldn’t help but stare at her bare back as she slept. I moved toward her and kissed her shoulder, but she didn’t move. I smiled. This is what life is like with a mate; I missed out before. I knew Shadow was asleep as I could hear him snore. I got up and went into the bathroom. I quickly took a shower and put a towel around my waist. I returned to the bedroom and looked at Demi, who was still asleep. I placed my pants on and headed downstairs. I walked over to the window and stared out. The snow had finally stopped but was deep and right up to the window sill. Fuck. I didn’t have any other clothes to change into, I thought. I stared, I don’t know what it is about snow, but it sparkles when some light lands on it. It makes it so magical to see. I turned around, headed to the lounge, and noticed the TV had been on since last night. We should have turned it off last night, but things got heated between us. I knew I had one thing on my mind when I chased her: to make her realize that she was mine and that I wanted her more than anything. I switched the TV off and walked back into the kitchen. I could feel movement in my head, letting me know Shadow was awake. I walked over to the fridge and looked to see what we had; I might as well make some breakfast for us. I looked around and found some bacon. I thought I was going to give her breakfast for queens, as I took everything I needed out. I started to cook, and after an hour, I had everything ready, but before I could leave to wake up my sleeping mate, I heard her coming. “Something smells good,” she said as she entered the kitchen. I looked over my shoulder and smiled at her. “Hope you’re hungry,” I said, dishing the last food onto the two plates. Demi went to grab hers but went on her tippy toes and kissed me on the cheek. I frowned and moved her to me, catching her off guard and capturing her lips with mine. I kissed her and pulled back, “now that’s a thank you kiss,” I said with a smile. Demi smirked as she grabbed her plate. I watched her walk away. My eyes went to her ass, and I couldn’t help but admire how it swayed as she walked over to the table. “Want mate,” howled Shadow, drool slipping out of the corners of his mouth. I had to ignore him, even if I did want her again. Demi sat down but caught me staring. “Are you coming, lover boy,” she said, pulling me from my thoughts. I grinned. I grabbed my plate and walked over to the table. Her eyes stayed on me till I sat opposite her. We both started to eat, making small talk in between mouthfuls. Once the food was eaten, Demi looked outside and sighed. “Can we go out?” she asked. I stared at her and studied her but didn’t say anything, as I let her continue. I wanted to know what was happening in that little head of hers. I could feel Shadow move closer, but not to show himself. He was curious to know what she was thinking, just like I was. “Can we play in the snow?” she asked. I c****d my eyebrows at her, but a slow grin formed on my lips. “Why?” I asked. Demi looked at me as a slow smile slid across her face. “I love the snow,” she said, glancing at the window. “It was the one thing I missed while away from here, that and seeing my friends.” I looked outside; it did look good to go in. Making snowmen, snow angels, everything we all used to do as a kid. I glanced back. “I don’t see why not, though,” I said, but I couldn’t help but frown. “I don’t have anything else to wear,” I said, glancing at her. Demi smiled. “I’m sure my Dad will have something here you can wear,” she said and leaned forward slightly, “I mean, it’s only for an hour or so.” I frowned but gave a slight nod. I could hear Shadow chuckle in my head. Demi and I got up and cleaned up the kitchen. I had to make a mental note to buy a week’s worth of groceries for her parents; we were eating their food. I washed up and dried while Demi searched for clothes for me. Once I was done, I went upstairs and found Demi dressed and looking at me in the mirror as she placed her hair in a ponytail. I leaned on the door frame and watched her. I couldn’t believe how lucky I was to have her as a mate. “Are you done staring,” Demi said, which made me look at her reflection in the mirror as she stared back at me. I beamed as I pushed off the door frame, walked over to her, and leaned down to kiss her head. “Never,” I murmured. Demi smiled. “I found a coat of my father’s that will fit you,” she said, “also a jumper too.” I nodded and walked to the bed, where she placed the clothes. I quickly placed them and looked at her; Demi was staring but biting her lip. Shadow started to pant in my head as he moved closer to see what Demi was doing. “Don’t do that,” I growl, making her look at me with wide eyes. I grab hold of my bulge, which has grown slightly. “You don’t realize what you do to me,” I said, letting go of my c**k and moving toward her, pulling her into my arms. I wrap my arms around her and lean down and kiss her lips. Demi kisses back but pulls away. “Let’s go,” she said, “I want to go out and come back to warm up with you in my bed.” I groaned, which caused Demi to laugh. “We won’t be long, lover boy,” she said, glancing over her shoulder, “You can have me again when we come back inside.” Shadow was up on all fours, howling. He wanted her again, and so did I. I followed her out of the bedroom and down to the front door.
