Kimberly I opened my eyes slowly to see that I was in a strange room. The room had a strange DIY decor. The interior was somehow eerie that I couldn't help but panic as I recalled all that happened before everything went dark. Did I die? Was I in hell? I wondered as I looked around. My sight caught the back view of someone in the room. He was wearing all black. Was that the devil? As if to answer my question, he turned and behold, it was the devil indeed. "Kimberly?" Kendrick's voice rang in my head, reminding me of how evil the man was. I cringed immediately and shrank back to the bed. Why was Kendrick here again? Did he come here to make me more miserable? This wasn't the room he had allocated to me upon my arrival, where was this place? And why had he brought me here? "You're awake?" He muttered as he came close to the bed. Was that excitement I heard in his voice? He must be excited to see me so miserable. He had probably come to see if I was in any state to receive more of his torture. I wanted to close my eyes and pretend like I was still unconscious but I knew that it was no use since he had seen me awake. "Ye....Yes, Lord Kendrick," I muttered my response with a bow. "That's good," he turned away as if he couldn't stand being in the same room with me. He lit his cigarette and sat down on the leather couch in the room. He crossed his long legs and his long curly hair fell on his shoulders. I watched him while pretending to fall asleep. He looked too cute to be so evil. "Madam, have some hot porridge," Linda came in with a tray of food and fruits. I looked in Kendrick's direction to make sure that I was allowed to eat. I wouldn't want to get thrown into an icy dam this time for eating without being told to. He probably knew that I was waiting for his order. He looked at me briefly before reverting his gaze again. "Eat," he ordered like I was his trained dog. As much as I would love to refuse the order since I wasn't his dog and wouldn't like to be treated as one, I was too hungry to turn down food at that moment. I picked the spoon and took a first taste of the porridge, and my stomach grumbled loudly. I didn't realise how hungry I was due to all that had happened. Without caring if I was being watched by Kendrick or not. I dived into the food and ate it all. I looked up at Linda who seemed to understand my silent demand. "I'll get you some more," Linda immediately went out of the room with the tray, and like a flash she was back with the food. I took the food even before she could hand it to me, and dived in immediately. "Careful madam you'll burn your tongue." Linda's advice fell on deaf ears as I ate without caring if the food was hot or scalding. I exhaled heavily as I took the last spoonful of porridge. "Thank you," I muttered my appreciation to Linda and also looked in Kendrick's direction to let him know that I was glad that he at least fed me. If he had chosen to starve me to death, there was nothing I'd do. I didn't even have breakfast before I was brought to Kendrick's place, yet he had me so severely tortured that I probably wouldn't have survived if I didn't have my wolf, Zara, with me. "You should rest," Kendrick came towards me. He looked at me briefly before leaving the room. "I'll be in my study." I watched him leave and relief washed over me. I sighed and adjusted myself on the bed. I was able to look around the room as the devil wasn't there. It felt as if the air in the room had suddenly become warm after his departure. The ambience suddenly became different. It felt peaceful. "It's the master’s room," Linda announced as if she could tell that I was still trying to figure it out. "Kendrick's...." I paused as I realised what I had said could get into more trouble. "I mean, Is this Lord Kendrick's room?" I rephrased. "Yes madam. It's the master's room and he never allowed anyone into this room." She stood up and arranged the tray. "I'm only allowed in here to clean." I nodded in understanding as I listened to her. I knew Kendrick would definitely have a room where he'd hide his prey. I bet it was this room. That was the only explanation I could think of for not letting anyone into the room. "Really?" My heart tightened with fear. Did he bring me into his room to kill me? That explained why he brought me into his room after sending me to death's doorstep. Though, I had my mind made up when I was coming to Kendrick's Manor that I was going to get killed. I knew I couldn't escape it. What I didn't expect was to have it happen so soon. I had only been there for twenty four hours. "Yes ma'am," Linda nodded proudly. "Master brought you in here when you fainted earlier. He was so worried that he ...." Linda paused abruptly and smiled before hurrying off. She probably realised that she had spoken too much. "Wait!" I called before she could leave the room. If I would be staying with Kendrick as his wife and Luna, then I must know more about him. What I didn't know was how to gather the information if Linda wouldn't even tell me. "Tell me, Madam," Linda bowed as she returned to the room. I remained quiet as I thought of a way to ask the question without sounding too inquisitive. "The blood lord," I accidentally blurted and immediately corrected myself. "Lord Kendrick...." I paused to see if she would tell me what I intended to ask. "....was he always like this or.....”
