"Spar with me, Luna."
I looked around hesitantly and immediately shook my head in refusal. "I can't."
How could I spar with him?
Though, he didn't look overly strong and hefty like Kendrick. I knew he had to be strong. After all, he wasn't just a random man. He was Kendrick's beta. And Kendrick was the Alpha of the strongest pack in the world.
"Of course you can," one of the ladies screamed. "If you could defeat Mary so easily, then you're a force to reckon with."
"Yes Luna!" Other ladies chorused.
"Do us proud, Luna!" They cheered.
They've probably been defeated by the men that they already gave up trying. However, I was new to the pack and didn't think it was right to spar with Jonas.
Besides, I was the Luna of the pack and Queen of the six Kingdoms. I didn't know if it was right to have me spar with Jonas.
What if he defeats me? Will that make me be less respected?
"Don't worry, Luna," he raised the sword for me to see. "The swords are made of wood. You won't get killed."
I chuckled at his joke and took the wooden sword out of his hand.
I could still remember all the training my father gave me back home. He had me prepared to be the next Alpha of the pack.
Nevertheless, who would have thought that I would end up with a monster like Kendrick?
"Please Luna," he begged and others joined him.
I sighed and reluctantly agreed to their request. "Alright then," I agreed and they all cheered immediately.
The sparring began with Jonas dashing towards me with his sword. I ducked and immediately placed the shield above my head.
The sword landed on my shield and I hit Jonas' back with my shield.
He smirked and moved forward to attack me again, but I dodged again, and attempted another sneaky attack on him.
He caught me before I could attack him and he sent my shield flying across the field. He twisted my arm harmlessly and let my sword fall out of my hand.
I turned around, desperately trying to free my hand from his grip, but his grip was firm even though he was only holding lightly.
I tried to punch him with my other hand and a growl escaped my lips. Jonas ignored my growl and replied with a growl of his own.
I bent backwards and made him lean forward, thus my hand became free. I picked my sword and moved to attack again, but Jonas was too fast.
He moved like the wind. I could barely know where he would attack from. So, I based my attacks on my instincts.
I watched him move and studied his feet and once he moved in for attack, I dodged and made a slide to the left, leaving him surprised.
He thought he had me.
I moved to attack again but he ducked and slapped my belly lightly.
"You're quite agile, Luna, but ..."
I took advantage of his distraction and kicked his feet and he lost balance and fell on the floor, However, he made sure to drag me along there by making me fall atop him with his hand on my waist.
I was about to get up and bring a stop to the sparring when I heard that familiar voice. Kendrick's eyes were fixed on Jonas and me. His eyes narrowed as he noticed the location of Jonas' hand.
"What is going on here?"
I stood up immediately and Jonas also did. He bowed to the Kendrick immediately. "My Lord."
Kendrick ignored the greetings, his eyes narrowed at me and I could see rage brewing in the depth of his amber eyes.
"Training," Jonas stated in addition to his greeting, yet Kendrick didn't cut his eyes off me. He looked like he would murder me.
I knew I was in for another round of torture and pain.
"The Luna is quite agile and strong," Jonas stated in appraisal.
Kendrick's lips curled up in an evil smirk. He nodded, but didn't speak.
He turned and walked back to the manor with his hands placed behind his back.
Out of nowhere, I could feel a sudden rage sweep through me. My whole body trembled from anger. I didn't know why I was angry or what I was angry, but I knew I was angry.
"See you all later," I immediately discharged myself and went back to the manor.
I didn't understand what was going on in my body. I clenched my fist tightly until it drew blood.
Why was I feeling so angry? I wondered as I got closer to the manor.
I stopped by the river and washed my face and body, but that did nothing to calm the fury. It was about to erupt.
Then it dawned on me.
This wasn't me.
This wasn't my feeling. It was Kendrick's.
I was now able to feel Kendrick's emotions, and right now he was furious. I halted my steps and took a seat under the tree in the garden.
Why was he so furious just because he saw me training? Was I not supposed to mingle with the pack members? Why didn't anyone tell me this? Or did I do something wrong while at it?
I had several thoughts in my mind as I sat under the tree. It was getting dark and I had to go home, but I had no home. Kendrick's Manor was no home but a prison.
I sighed and stood up determinedly. I headed back to the manor. I had to face Kendrick at one point, so I gathered the little courage left in me and returned to the manor.
I entered my room and moved to switch on the lights. I needed to lay down on the bed and get some rest as my body still aches from Kendrick's rigorous banging.
Kendrick's voice sounded from the dark room. "You finally found your way home."
