"Good day, Luna." I heard a strange voice as I strolled in the manor.
I turned to see who it was and I saw a young man that looked to be in his early thirties walk towards me with a friendly smile.
"Hello," I waved as he arrived before me.
Though I didn't know who the man was, I figured that he must be one of Kendrick's pack members. After I had been introduced to the entire kingdom as Kendrick's Luna, I had not left the manor nor had I visited the pack house. So, I didn't really know the pack members.
Kendrick ruled over the six Kingdoms. He was a King to the other Alphas and the Alpha of Shadow Pack, the biggest and strongest pack in the world which made me the Queen of the six Kingdoms and Luna of Shadow Pack.
I didn't know if I would live long enough to rule alongside him or if he even saw me as his wife and Queen.
"Pardon me," I began as the man bowed in greeting. "But I don't seem to know who you are."
The man smiled as he rubbed his brow with his index. "But I do know who you are."
I knew that I must already be famous by now everyone already knew who I was, yet I didn't know them.
"What's your name?" I demanded in a polite tone.
"Jonas, Luna," he bowed. "My name is Jonas and I'm Lord Kendrick's beta.
My eyes widened, but I was quick to bring myself back to composure.
I mean, I didn't know that Kendrick had a beta. I thought he was too capable that he didn't need anyone to assist him in handling pack duties.
"Kendrick's beta?" I repeated, quite surprised to know that Kendrick had a beta who was so young and sweet while Kendrick was the opposite.
"Yes Luna," He affirmed. "Lord Kendrick introduced me to you the other day at your Coronation."
"Oh," I muttered as I offered a smile. "Pardon me for not recognizing you." I apologized to the man.
I was in no state to remember anything or anyone that day. However, I couldn't say that to the man so I only apologized.
"It's alright, Luna. I understand," he smiled.
Even if I didn't know him, he didn't seem to mind. He was such a a kind man.
"How about I introduce you to some of the pack members," Jonas offered. "They would be happy to meet you."
"Alright then," I readily agreed.
I had nothing to do back at the manor anyway and I was strolling just to help get Kendrick's cruelty out of my head.
After what he did to me the other night, I didn't know what to do with my life or how to go on living.
Although, he was my husband. I never thought that the day would come when he would seek to consummate our marriage.
He never treated me as his wife either. So, I couldn't understand why he chose to do that. Especially when he had several women who would jump on him upon his call.
Though, I let him have his right as he claimed. I didn't see any strings attached to it. I only gave way so he wouldn't have another reason to torture me. I hadn't healed from the ones he had inflicted on me before. And I didn't know how to rid myself off the taint he's brought to my soul.
"This way, Luna," Jonas ushered as he led the way to the pack house.
We arrived at the pack house and I was met with so many strange faces. I couldn't believe that I had met them all before. They were so warm and welcoming that I wished I resided in the pack house with so many nice people than inside the manor with Kendrick.
I was introduced to Kendrick's Delta and gammas and they were all sweet which made me wonder why Kendrick was so different.
If he was surrounded by so many nice people, why was he still so cruel?
"I'm Elijah," The Delta introduced himself as he brought a young beautiful lady along. "This is my mate, Annabelle."
The lady bowed before giving way for others to give their introduction.
I listened to each of them as they introduced themselves with glee. Indeed, I felt like a queen as I watched them all surround me.
Being around them helped me forget the pain in my heart as I watched them prepare for training.
I didn't know that it was okay to train in the evening. Back home in my father's pack, trainings are done in the morning while evenings are for catching up and bonding.
"Weren't trainings done in the morning?" I voiced my thoughts and Jonas chuckled. "It is, Luna. However this is Shadow Pack, we are the target of all the packs around and we can only stay strong if we train tirelessly."
He was right.
Yet, it didn't seem right to train so rigorously when there was no danger approaching. Especially when there were women and children who were involved in the training.
Besides, who would want to evade the blood Lord's Pack? Kendrick's reputation was such that everyone in the kingdom feared him.
Who would be daring enough to want to attack the pack of the man who killed over hundred soldiers with his bare hands only.
"Sounds good," I commented with a smile even though I had a different thoughts.
"Would you like to train with us?" One of the kids took my hand and led me towards the training was done.
The girl was about nine years. With minimally big eyes and long hair.
"I would love to, but...."
"Do not refuse, please." Another one joined in.
How do I say no to such cuties?
I turned to Elijah who immediately signaled Mary to get me some training gears.
At first, I was only training with the kids before Mary asked to spar with me. Everyone clapped at how smoothly I defeated her.
Jonas suddenly came before and stretched his hand. "Spar with me, Luna."
