Chapter 4 Mates

Darryl's P.O.V

  I carried Hayley to her room, she was so tired and hurt, but there was nothing that anyone could do to help her. I opened her door, walked in and laid her down on her bed, pulling the blanket over her to keep her warm. I turned to leave, when I heard her voice.

  "Wait, please don't go, please stay, come lay down beside me." Hayley said, I took off my guard gear and helmet, placed them on her dresser and got into bed, laying beside her and holding her tightly. 

  "Darryl." Hayley said, like there was something important she wanted to tell me.

  "Yes." I said, rubbing her arm.

  "I know we're mates, I've known for three years now and I've also known that you have held back, because you don't want to disrespect my father. If you're only wanting to be with me because of power, then please just reject me and leave." Hayley said and I couldn't believe my ears.

  "So you knew all this time?" I asked her, I could feel my heart starting to beat faster.

  "Yes, I kept thinking you would come to me and make me yours for the power, but you never did." Hayley said, once again surprising me. 

  "I didn't want you to think that I only wanted you for the power. I want you because I love you Hayley, I know I have a lot to prove, but just bear with me. I'm very protective of you." I said, sighing and she nodded in understanding.

  "Yes I know you are and I love you too. Thank you for being there for me today. When that man put his hand around my throat, I knew then that I had to be strong, so I cut his hand off. I thought about what my father would have done, so I did it." Hayley said, I was over the moon that she loved me back.

  "I'm proud of you." I stated, my chest swelled with pride. 

  "Thank you, my father would have approved of you and so would my mother." Hayley said, smiling up at me.

  "You know, they often talked to me about you and if anything were to ever happen to them, they always wanted me to protect you. It was like they knew before I did." I confessed, smiling back at her.

  "My parents always knew things before anyone else did at times, you should have been here when they met, they told me the story many times." Hayley said, laughing.

  "Come on you really need your rest." I said, watching as her eyelids were getting heavier, with each passing second.

  "Will you stay with me for right now? at least until I fall asleep." Hayley softly whispered.

  "I will stay until you fall asleep, then I have to get back to guarding the castle." I said, nodding, she nods and her eyes closed. I don't think she realised just how tired she was, but after what had happened today, it really wore her out and soon enough she was fast asleep. I waited a while and then slowly got out of bed, careful not to wake her up. I stood there watching her sleep for a while, then I put my armor and helmet back on. I have loved this woman since the very first time I laid eyes on her and I'm not even sure if she really wants me, but I'm not going to force it. I'm going to let her do everything at her own pace, because knowing her father this is what he would want. He would want me to let his daughter do everything, I took one more look at her and then left, I needed to get back out there.

  Ted's P.O.V

  I can't believe that b***h, I'm in a cell, chained by the neck like a dog. First she embarrasses me and strips me of my Alpha title, then she changes the name of my pack, cuts my hand off and throws me in here. Who the hell does she think she is? Doesn't she know who I am? That b***h is nothing but a spoilt brat, playing at being Queen.

  "You should have never laid a hand on the Queen, she's ruthless and she learned from the best." One of the guards said, laughing at me and my mistake.

  "How long do I have to stay in this hell hole?" I snarled at him. the guard smirked,

  "Until she decides to let you out, until then you will be collared like a dog and if you try to escape, I'll be more than happy to kill you." The guard replied, smirking at me. 

  "A woman ruling over us." I sarcastically said, causing the guard to growl at my insolence.

  "Shut up or I'll tape your mouth shut asshole." The guard growled at me, I shut up and glared back at the guard. I didn't like this one bit, I will have to try and find a way out of here, but first I'm going to need to get this collar off.

  Hayley's  P.O.V

  I felt so calm and comfortable with Darryl lying next to me and holding me tightly in his arms. I soon fell asleep and drifted off dreaming once more, I was back in the castle garden.

  "s**t this again? What now? What does she want now?" I said out loud to myself, sighing at the thought of seeing The Moon Goddess again. I began to walk through the flower garden yet again and I saw the Moon Goddess sitting down, it seemed like she was worried. 

  "Let's get this over with." I sighed, rolling my eyes and walked over to her. The Moon Goddess stood up, turned and looked at me.

  "I know you don't want to see me Hayley, but I have something for you." She said, speaking softly.

  "What do you have for me?" I cautiously asked her, she closed her eyes and then opened them a few seconds later. What the hell was she doing?

  "Look behind you dear." The moon Goddess whispered, so I turned around and was shocked by what or should I say who I saw standing there. 

  "Yes it's me baby, I'm so sorry I left you."
