“Being bare is so much more than stripping down your clothes and allowing someone to see your entire physique. It is when you allow someone to see the vulnerabilities you are trying to hide otherwise”.
Lavender found it impossible to sleep as she focused on the sound of the running water in Drew’s bath as she knew he had acquired such wounds due to her. This had now been the second time in which he had saved her life-and without much of a viable reason aside from finding her intriguing, she couldn’t understand why he would lay down his life so easily for her. As she laid within the confines of her room, beneath the thick duvet that covered the rest of the bed, Drew began to ease his way into the water, allowing the hot temperature act as a massage against his aching bones. As he rested within its soothing features, he thought of her, as she thought of him-wondering what it had been about the other person that drew them together. There had been an unspeakable connection visible upon a shared gaze, or even those given when the other party is unaware-nevertheless, the desire to know the person further was present. So much so, that it led the well-tempered Lavender out of the confines of her bed and towards the bathroom in which he had been escorted to, wanting to gain answers.
She knew he would be naked upon the other side of the door, and so, she remained on the outside, not wanting to take up an invasion of his privacy-while also wanting to keep herself at a distance from him. “Drew?” She asked upon bringing her hand to knock on his door. Although he could sense her scent leading up to the door, he believed it to be his imagination that was beginning to turn lustful.
“Is there something you need?” He asked, his voice echoing within the bathroom. She paused before trying to find the correct words to speak in order to achieve the proper interrogation she set out for.
“I was thinking about you-worried about you…” She quickly caught herself from sounding like a school girl with a crush. “You saved my life for the second time...so thank you.”
“I can sense that you are a girl that can hold your own-”
“Is that why you didn’t attack him?” A silence filled the bathroom before the door came open, much to her surprise. The steam that occurred from the unnatural hot water had filled the space as the door became ajar, leading for Drew’s nude body to be acknowledged to his pelvic region. He stood with only one leg in view, with the other resting behind the door-not wanting to place the clearly virtuous girl into shock-but also wanting to tempt her with what she acted appalled by.
“I didn’t attack him because he was just a kid.” His answer surprised her, as she did everything she could to ignore his glorious frame standing before her. His middle-eastern beauty had been something enviable by exotic models around the world-and he held such looks effortlessly. He could emerge from the shower or even directly after a run, and still appear as if he was on his way to a million-dollar runway show. But now, she had seen his figure-everything but his manhood, and every detail of his exterior had made her nervous before him. There was a perfect amount of chest hair upon his torso, along with muscle mass itself, without making him appear freakishly large. It was clear he took great care in his body, and even more clear due to the way his body would flex without much of a movement.
“See something you like?” He asked as her eyes then shot up to his, wanting desperately to have a clever comeback, but only coming up with ‘no’.
“I came here to thank you.”
“It couldn’t wait until morning?” He asked, as she realized how foolish she must appear standing at the outside of his bathroom-knowing he would be naked inside. She blushed at the thought before gaining a small amount of confidence in wanting to stand her ground.
“I also wanted to make sure you were alright.” Her sudden act of kindness from seeming distant from him until then surprised him-a reaction that was not unseen by his own facial response.
“I can assure you, I have endured worse than this-”
“Let me see.” She spoke in a way that made him want to comply to her. He had been in the role of a leader for so long, he had submission from everyone he met. But with Lavender, she wanted to fight against him, she wanted to stand her own ground-and so, she did. Lavender looked to him with aggravation while she waited for him to follow her instruction. Expecting him to bring a towel to his waist, he opened the door and turned at the same time, revealing each one of his rear cheeks to face her. She was able to see the dimples set above his ass, before her eyes fell to the marks upon his body. Some had been present recently, still red from having been received only a short while ago-as others had become part of his figure, hiding upon his perfectly etched physique.
“Where did the others come from?” She asked upon making note of the many scars that had become blemishes to him.
“I have fought to be alpha…” He spoke, his eyes becoming illuminated with a crimson-revealing the passion he felt for her in this moment. However, he wouldn’t allow her to see this, and so, he kept his gaze from her. “You don’t get into a position of power without making a few people angry.” He spoke, his head turning to face her, but his eyes remaining from her own gaze. Before she could stop herself, she set her hand upon his shoulder to try and get him to face her-but before this could be done to where she would know the desire he felt for her, she kept her hand from making contact with his skin. Whenever she would begin to feel sympathy towards Drew or even attraction, she would think of how joyous it was for him to see Maximus torn up and lifeless.
“You are afraid of me...aren’t you, Lavender?” As her name was spoken from his lips and his haunting gaze seemed to penetrate her, she struggled to find an answer. Due to her silence, he had taken this as his her response and a smirk came over his lips. “Good...it wouldn’t be any fun if you didn’t.” Before she could respond to this, the bathroom door came open and Astrid stood with a gasp upon seeing Drew nude. She threw his clothes at him and quickly shut the door before then leaving the duo alone. “I suppose she will question me about this later...What is it I should tell her?” The fact she was asked by him with what to say had made her feel included in his psyche, but also a bit confused-as she wasn’t sure if he had done this to taunt her or gain her genuine opinion.
“The truth…” She spoke in response as his brows shot up in alert.
“The fact you came into my bathroom, knowing I was undressed, and wanted to check me out?”
“That’s not-”
“Relax...I am sure she is in too much of a shock at what she saw…” He spoke in reference to his bare existence. “She is innocent, like you…”
“Like me?”
He nodded. “Astrid was set to be married once before...she had given herself before marriage and he had been killed in a mundane car accident. But...her reputation of being virtuous had been tainted...much like yours.” Lavender now looked away from him, not wanting him to see her as someone so fragile, but a force to be reckoned with-but this was not the case. “He did claim you...didn’t he?”
She couldn’t bring herself to confess the truth or conjure a lie, as she wasn’t sure what would have been worse. But her silence had answered for her once again. Understanding that she was still virtuous, Drew moved towards the towel upon the rack beside the bath and wrapped it around himself. He had every reason to be confident in his body, as many women would have found him attractive, but he seemed embarrassed of his bare torso and pelvis facing her, as if he had scarred her. But it was also a part of her in which he adored in knowing the girl he was going to take as his mate would be one of purity-of complete innocence. Lavender on the other hand, felt as though she had given a needle to a junkie.
“I’m sorry...I wasn’t aware.” He seemed truly ashamed of his actions before then keeping himself locked within the bathroom for the remainder of the night, as she waited for him to seek her out to explain himself further. Instead, they both fell asleep at the thought of each other, unaware that the other had done the same-but hoping they had.
