LUCIEN's POV: I watched my girls laugh and dance. She put on some movie I usually didn't want to watch, and Jackie did a little routine with her, helping her dance like a little princess. I could watch them for hours. The only problem, the music. I tolerated it in the car, and I liked how the movies used to put Cami to sleep, but to hear the music more than three times, I had it. Dinner was great, and Cami helped dry everything as I washed. We had been a duo team for so long it was different, yet nice. I would have gone for takeout if Jackie hadn't been here. I saw Cami yawn and stop dancing and I made my move then. "Alright munchkin. Bed." I lifted her over my shoulder, and she giggled and kicked a bit, but I kept her steady. Taking her all the way up the stairs and then tossing her on the bed I smiled at her. I heard Jackie coming up as I told Cami to change and that I would get her toothbrush ready. I went into our bathroom and saw that while it had been cleaned, it wasn't as organized as the rest of the rooms in the house. I shook my head, got her toothbrush ready and as Cami came in, now in her little night dress with Snow White on it, she brushed her teeth and I sang the happy birthday song twice. She used her little kid mouthwash and when she was done, I rinsed the sink and she set off to get a book for me to read. She was starting to get into the chapter books more and more. Thankfully she was finally getting into Harry Potter. I walked into her room and saw her snuggled in already, tucking her tight before getting the book she left out I asked if she remembered where she last heard and for another 20 minutes I read until I looked up and she was sleeping, mouth open, hands clenching her teddy and I smiled before leaning down and kissing her forehead. I flicked the night light on, moved towards the door and hit the big light before noticing Jackie watching me. "What?" She had this look in her eye, like she couldn't believe what she had just seen. "You are so good to her." She whispered and I felt my stomach bottom out. She told me she and her dad weren't close, but to know that she thought something so simple as a bedtime story was amazing... it made me hate the man too. Avery and she had talked about what their dad wanted to do until the guy was caught, and I had stayed out of it because it wasn't my family, and it wasn't going to affect her. He hadn't asked to see her which seemed to be a great news for her, but I had to wonder if she had wished he would make an effort. I grabbed her hand, pulled her right into my arms and gave her forehead a kiss like I had just done Cami. I held her tight and walked right into my room, her not trying to stop me even though she had said something about waiting for Cami to see more of us together, I took her to bed. Kissing her lips as soon as she sat down, and I rested my hands on her hips. "I wasn't going to give you the time of day ever." She whispered and I paused and waited for her to continue. "I saw the bike and the cut... and I was going to flirt back... but the first day I got to talk to you... you had dog tags." She reached up and pulled my cousins from under my shirt and I saw the tears rising in her eyes. "You didn't want a military man?" I asked and she shook her head and just looked at them for only a moment longer before up into my eyes. "I never wanted a man to choose duty over family. I never wanted a man who would control my life like he did." I shook my head and moved to put my forehead on hers and I waited. "And then you actually saved my life, and you are controlling me... but in such a different way." She raised her hands from my chest to around my neck and I felt her pull me slightly, and I let her. She gave me a kiss that would have any brother on their knees. Her mouth was heaven, her tongue danced, and I wanted to cherish every stroke and movement. She moved to lean back, her hands pulling me along, so I was bracing myself on top of her. I pulled back and pulled off my shirt, the dog tags making the routine clang and I noticed the slight wince, and I made a decision, pulling them from around my neck as her eyes were closed trying to keep herself calm. I pulled away, going to the box with my cousins medals and things inside and I opened it, hearing her sit up on the old mattress and I looked over as soon as the tags were inside and saw her eyes watering even more than before. "You don't have to do that." She shook her head and I walked closer, taking her back in my arms and I kissed her temple. "I have worn those for 3 years... she needs to rest too... I can't keep her here with me all the time." I whispered and she looked me in the eye, and I remembered how I was the only family member at the funeral that day, but I still had my brothers backing me up, and her family, all the people who felt her loss just as I did. Now... now I had my daughter, my brothers, and this woman in front of me. We might not have had time to date or fall in love, but she was mine, and she will always be mine. I leaned down and kissed her silent, and pliant. She was putty in my hands and she knew it just as I did. Jackie's POV: I woke up with his arms around me, the sun not even making an appearance, but I knew what time it was. I relaxed against him and heard his slight snore and I turned in his arms, feeling the breeze on my ass when I crinkled the blankets up. I kissed his jaw, his mouth closed, and his hands slightly tightened around my hips. I kissed again, pushing his hands down and off of me so I could get out of bed. I let him sleep and went to my room, dressing in his long shirt and grabbing all of my clothes from his room. I got a change and went right to the bathroom he told me I could use. I brushed my hair out and braided it tight to my scalp and let it drop on my black crop top and made sure that my socks were up around my ankles before walking out. His room door was open, and I peeked in to see Cami laying beside him on top the covers and I smiled. Tossing his shirt so there would be no evidence, I watched them for a moment longer. Taking my phone out and aiming the camera I snapped it just before Cami turned away from him. I walked downstairs, wondering if I should start making breakfast but I knew there was muffins, so I simply reheated them and less than half an hour later Cami made her way down. "How long have you been awake?" She asked still rubbing her eye and I pushed my lips together. "A while. I never got to sleep in when I was your age, so it's hard for me to do it now. I am always up before the sun." I told her and she seemed horrified but saw down at the table and yawned. "You don't have to be up just because I am." I told her and she wrinkled her nose before shaking her head. "Daddy farted and his whole room stinks. I couldn't go back to sleep." I laughed and she looked so grossed out that I shut my lips quickly. "He's up too, but he told me that he was going to take a shower." I nodded and walked over with two muffins and handed one over. She took it like a chipmunk and stuffed her face while I picked at mine. "Did you go with my daddy to the clubhouse?" She asked with a curious look in her eyes and I nodded. "And... you stayed there the whole night with him?" She asked and I nodded yet again. "So, you're officially his old lady?" "What does that mean?" I asked and she smiled before giggling. "It means... like you're his girlfriend, and all the club knows it because he took you there." She giggled against and licked her lips as she stuffed the last of the muffin in her mouth. I was stunned at first, but as it seeped in, I didn't care. I never had the whole 'what are we' talk before. I had boyfriends in high school, and some friends with benefits that seemed more like a boyfriend in college, and then there was the couple guys I was serious about that never seemed to take 'us' seriously, and now... now I was with Lucien and he didn't seem to care what I had to think about us, because we were an us. I looked at Cami as she folded up the muffin wrapper before she jumped around to toss it in the trash and she walked out of the kitchen to the living room and she turned on the tv and I heard the cartoons before I could even think about what she might put on. I sat in the kitchen, finishing off my muffin before he came down and entered the kitchen shirtless. I felt my eyes go wide when I saw the hickeys I put on his chest in plain view. "Go put on a shirt." I whispered and he looked confused before looking down before raising his eyes back to me and smirking. "She already saw them babe." He told me and went to work his coffee maker. I bit my lip and looked at him move around. "Keep looking at me like that and Razor is going to take her for the whole day instead of you two." He looked at me and his smirk just seemed to grow bigger. "Not my fault, eat some fatty foods and stop working out or whatever." I got up and moved to walk out but he snagged my waist and pulled me back into the kitchen and I kept in my loud giggles and gasp to myself and let him pull me back towards the counters. He gave me a kiss and I blinked at him as he pulled away. "Good morning." He told me and I felt my legs turn to goo. "Good morning." I whispered back and he smiled. "Why did you sneak out of the bed?" He asked and I smiled. "I was awake... and you were sleeping. I needed a shower after last night and I didn't want to wake you up." I told him and he shook his head before leaning in and putting his forehead on mine. "Besides... if I am going to open tomorrow... I will be waking up at 5 to get to the bakery." I told him and he seemed a little surprised at the information. "Why at 5?" He asked and I cooed before wrapping my arms around his shoulders. "Well, there is muffins, breads, cinnamon rolls and a couple other things to bake before 6 that need to be done. I need to get all that done." I told him knowing that there was usually leftover dough and things I would just need to roll out and make more. "How are you going to get there?" I paused at the question, the problem not even occurring to me. "I can get one of those ride share things." I told him and he shook his head right away. "I will make a deal with you babe. You take the jeep today; you still have a license, right?" He asked and I nodded. "Good. Because when one of your employees shows up tomorrow and you're also using the jeep, you'll have to come back and pick Cami and I up to take us to her school." "But then you would take the Jeep all the way back to the house after I go back to work." I said and he nodded. "Then I will head to work... and then I can pick her up when she gets out, and then come get you." He told me and I nodded slowly. "Okay." I told him and he smiled before looking over at his coffee now all filled. "Does Cami know she's hanging out with me today?" I asked him and he nodded as he took a sip. "I told her this morning. When I found her in my bed instead of you." He told me and I smiled wide. "Is that before or after you farted?" I squealed as he set his cup down and grabbed my sides, he found out last night were very ticklish. "Which reminds me... what does Old Lady mean?" I asked and he looked at me with a smirk this time and he pulled back and took his coffee with him. "Lucien, what does it mean?" I asked and he walked towards the kitchen door and walked in to watch cartoons with his daughter, and I huffed and took a deep breath before going to sit with them. It was some fairy cartoon she seemed to love, she sang every song and did every little routine step when they transformed and I sat there, giggling and smiling at her as she showed her little moves. After a couple more cartoons, one being a new TMNT that Lucien was excited over, I felt my phone going off and I stood and answered my brothers’ number. "What's up?" I asked and he laughed. "It's a greeting, called good morning, some people actually use it when they have loved one’s call." He told me and I rolled my eyes. "Stop being a smart ass and tell me what you called for." I closed my eyes when I realized I cursed but Lucien's words about how she's heard everything ran through my mind and I looked back to see him looking back at me with a smile and Cami was completely oblivious of me being on the phone. "I was just wondering where we are meeting up. I can come back to his place." Avery's voice pulled me back to the conversation and I pushed my lips together. "I was going to take Cami to a trampoline place... we could get something to eat after that." I offered and he hesitated, and I felt something wrong. "You okay?" I asked and he sighed. "I will meet you at the trampoline thing. I just need to tell you this." I felt my worry rising and I could tell that he was doing something stupid. "Don't you start that. It's not bad." He told me and I just clenched my jaw. "Well Cami is going to get ready to go after this episode, I will text you the address and I will let you know when we are on our way." I told him and I heard him flush the toilet. "Are you kidding me? That is so gross." I told him and he sighed. "Everyone poops sis." "Not when they are on the phone with someone." I hung up and shivered and saw Cami now looking at me. "You think your dad is gross for passing gas... my brother just called me while he took a-- poop." I caught myself before I openly cursed, and she giggled like it was the funniest thing in the world and I looked over at Lucien to see him smirking. "Go get dressed. Pants, no skirts while you're doing flips and jumps and any other kind of shit." He told her and she just nodded as she ran towards the stairs. "Why no skirts?" I asked knowing that it didn't matter. "You think I want some boy looking at her while her skirt comes up?" He asked me with a serious look on his face and I felt my mouth crack a wide grin. "As a former cheerleader... I have to tell you, one day she is going to wear a skirt, and she will be challenged by some boy to do a cartwheel, and that is going to happen." I told him, putting my hands on his shoulders and giving him a squeeze just as his entire body tensed up. "Cheerleader huh?" He let it go and I nodded when he leaned his head back to look at me. "Still do the splits?" "You're a pig." I told him and he oinked again just like that time in the café. "Your daughter is going to end up with a boy 10 times worse than you." I told him and he shook his head. "She's going to be a nun." His words sounded absolute and I just laughed. "And am I really 10 times worse than your dad?" "First of all, there are many ways to be worse. You could have been a woman beater... you could have been a tight ass with a stick shoved up your ass worse than him, you could be a badass biker daddy who would take down a gunman." I had worked my way around the couch and sat beside him and he smirked at me. "You could have a son in law that rides his Harley with no helmet, no cut, and he could mess around with strippers and hookers and then he could one day come across a cute little girl, in a skirt-" I felt his hands over my mouth stopping me and he shook his head. "Don't even put that out into the universe." He told me and I giggled and shrugged before he pulled his hands away. "That's why a daddy has to be a daughter’s goal, not a starting point." I told him and he smirked. "So, I was your goal huh?" He bounced his eyebrows and I rolled mine before he pulled me in and pulled my chin around so I would give him a kiss. "You are mine." "Daddy can I please wear a skirt!" I giggled at the pained look on his face before getting up. "You might want to wear leggings under it." I called up and he closed his eyes and whispered a thank you as she shouted 'ok' and I licked my lips. "Wanna tell me what an Old Lady is now? I'm not even 30 yet." I told him and he smiled wide this time. "It means that you're mine. That you and I are together. That... basically no one in the club or in other clubs will hit on you or try and take you from me. You're mine, and I am yours." He told me and I took a moment and knew deep down he was keeping something back about the whole definition, but I let it go for now. I was sure we weren't ready for that. She came down in a fluffy skirt, white leggings and a white short sleeve with a design that matched the skirt. "Okay... today, she is in charge of you. If she goes to the bathroom you are to stay with her, or when her brother joins you, you stay be his side. You don't beg to stay longer, you don't run off, and you do not talk to adult strangers." He told her and I saw her nod like it was routine before she looked up at me. "Uncle Ryan might be stopping by for dinner too." "Yes." She shoved her fists up and I wondered what that was about before going with her to get my shoes on. I felt his hands on my hips steadying me as I put on my boots and I pushed them off as both feet hit the ground. "You be careful." He told her as she took off to get in the back of the Jeep. "You too. Stay inside, don't leave with anyone more handsome than me... and surely don't let your brother get you all upset." "He doesn't upset me... if he does, he doesn't mean to, probably would just be passing along a message from the man." I rolled my eyes at the thought of this all being about him. "Well, either way, come back around 3 and I will probably be back with Razor and have the grill running again." He pulled my hips back into his and leaned down to give me a kiss. I put my hand around his neck and held on for the ride. He knows how to make me melt, but I had to be serious about this. I haven't driven in 3 years almost and I was about to drive around with Cami. I shook off the kiss as he let me go and I walked around to the other side as he went to make sure she was buckled and told her one more time to be good. He moved to put my purse in the front seat and sent me a wink. "Have a good time." He waved at us as I started the car, hit the garage and the gate button at the same time and put the car into reverse. I waved as he shut the gate after us and I turned on the music and tried to remain focused and got into the groove of driving again. I pulled into a big enough parking space and since there wasn't anyone on Cami's side I didn't rush around, she pushed her door open and met me at the back of the car. I saw my brother there already, a coffee in his hands and I took it as soon as we were within reach. "Cami, this is my brother Avery, and Ave this is Cami. Lucien's daughter." "It's nice to meet you little lady." He held out his hand and as soon as she put hers in his he turned it and gave it a kiss like a princess would receive. "You look like her but more hairy and square." She moved her head to the side as if she was going to see it all go away and we would transform into the same person, but Avery just smiled and nodded. "Are we jumping today?" He asked and turned to look at the place we were going in. "Yes." She jumped up and down and I smiled at her excitement before going right to the door and holding it open for both of them. There were already so many kids and I watched Cami's eyes light up before she took off for the front desk. "Hey there! First time in?" I shook my head and explained I had been here before but not the little one. "Okay, well there are some rules. Number 1, no shoes beyond the yellow lines. Number 2, every child under the age 5 needs a parent or guardian with them at all times. Are you under 5?" "No." Cami shook her head and the lady looked to me for confirmation even though she was well above 5. "Okay and number 3, no pushing, shoving, or kicking the other kids. If there is an accident, please apologize and walk a safe distance away before you start jumping again. There are a few people who try and keep an eye on the kids in case someone is hurt, but we ask all parents to watch their own children. Now, how long are you going to be jumping?" She looked at us even through Cami was looking at the kids still. "Just until 2." I told her and looked at their little wrist chart and saw she would have a green one on. "Okay, well, may I have your arm little lady?" She took a green band and slid it around her wrist before making sure it was tight. "If you lose this come back up here and ask for another one with your mommy so she can show the receipt." I didn't bother to correct her as I handed over my debit card and Cami played with the new bracelet. I put the card and the receipt right inside my purse before pushing her along by the shoulder and I watched her take off her shoes and I sat down besides where she left them and I saw her face. "What's wrong?" "She called you my mommy." She told me and I nodded slowly. "But you're not." "I know... but you know what... it's okay if strangers do that." I told her and her eyes looked a little happy instead of worried. "You Cami... are a bright little girl... and there is no reason that anyone who knew you wouldn't want a little girl just like you." I tipped her chin up and she nodded. "Go and jump around, when you get hungry come and tell me and we can go get lunch." I told her and she took off like a rocket and I felt my brothers stare. "What?" "Well... mommy Jackie, I have to say... I was worried I would never get nieces and nephews." He told me and I rolled my eyes. "Tell me what you need to tell me." I turned my eyes on him but as soon as I heard a squeal I looked back and realized it wasn't Cami. "I am retiring." He said it slow like he wanted to make sure I understood. "Don't bullshit me." I told him and he shook his head. "I am. I put in a week before you even called me. I was losing my mind in the sand, and like you always told me it was dads dream not mine." He shrugged and looked at all the kids. "When?" I asked and he looked back over at me. "I have 6 months. I will be training some kids and then I am back." He told me and I nodded and felt my whole-body shake. I had been worried that one day I would answer the door and there would be two men telling me that they were sorry and that he would be coming home in a box. I took deep breaths and he stood up and hugged me tight and I let myself cry of relief. "Oh my god." I held him tighter and was even more thankful he would only be training. "You're okay. I am okay, why are you crying?" He asked with a laugh and I sighed. "I have been waiting forever for you to get out." I told him and he laughed. "It's not prison." "Might as well be." I sat back down and wiped my face before laughing slightly before leaning back. "Oh look." He tapped my arm and pointed to see Cami doing a couple tricks. "She in gymnastics?" He asked and I shook my head. "I don't think so." I told him and he watched her do it again. "She's good." She was. "You gunna hire me at the little cafe?" He asked me and I turned and looked at him. "I'll give you a roof over your head... but no job. We don't work well together." I told him and he nodded slowly and laughed. "Think I will be able to ride with the club?" The thought should have made me want to smack him, but there wasn't something reassuring about him joining the MC. I didn't know all of them that well sober, but they were a fun drunk lot. "You'd have to be a prospect first." I told him and he seemed confused. "It's a word for a newbie. Someone who hasn't shown they're loyal and all that yet. Lucien has a prospect on me at all times." I told him and he looked impressed. "I've made it through bootcamp, being a prospect would probably be easy." He told me and I laughed lightly and shrugged. I didn't know either side of the coin that well, but there was something about my brother that always seemed invincible. If he wanted to do it... he would have my blessing, and if he ever got hurt, I would have Lucien's ass. "Well come to his house again tonight, meet their prez." I rolled my eyes at the term and he seemed confused. "It's like your commanding officer." I told him and he laughed but shrugged and nodded. I pulled my phone and messaged Lucien that my brother wanted to come by again tonight and I didn't get the ok until after we ate lunch and went back to the trampoline place. Thankfully I could just show the bracelet and Cami got back in. We watched her jump for just a little while longer before I felt like I was being watched. I looked around and saw no one, so I sat back, and tried to ignore the feeling.
