Lucien's POV:
I knew what Friday would bring, and I was dreading it as much as I was looking forward to it. I had a short meeting with the MC scheduled, and Razor offered to postpone it, but in reality, he knew that I didn't want to be there as much as the next dad.
Today, we had a prospect to consider, to see if he was even worth giving a shot, and while I was on the fence, Razor was against it. I knew the guy from the shop, he had done a lot of deliveries, and eventually he asked for a job, or a side job, anyways.
And after work, I went right to the café, picking my woman up, and then heading right to pick Cami up. She was absolutely excited for tonight, she had woken up early, cleaned up her room, and then got dressed.
I got them home, and while I moved to move my bike out, I heard Cami and Jackie talking about what to set up, and I stopped what I was doing and walked back in.
Jackie had taken the first clothes, shoved them in the washing and told Cami to take the empty basket back up to her room. I didn't get it until I realized it was to make it look like someone had already done laundry and the house was perfectly clean.
She then told Cami to pick out four DVDs. Then she was going to set out a couple clean blankets, and then came back to the living room, set them out, and then she went to grab more pillows and told Cami to get her things.
Apparently, the girls were all going to sleep down here and not in Cami's room like I had guessed they would. At least it would give me and Jackie the upstairs to ourselves.
I watched as they ran around the house, nit picking over the movies, the blankets, and then where to move things so they would be enough room, but not too far for the food and snacks.
Then they went through the snacks and talked about leaving them in the bags or putting them in bowls.
I was so confused as to why that mattered so much. Then we had our first girl arrive.
The squealing commenced, and Jackie handled the mom, saying what they would have for dinner and snacks, what the activities and movies were going to be. Talked about what time they should be picked up and what was for breakfast.
I was just standing there, I might as we of been wallpaper. I felt my phone ringing in my back pocket, and I answered right away.
"Go." I told Razor and he talked about how most of the guys were already there and wanting to get on with the party, so I had to get my ass to the table now. "I am on my way." I told him and looked to Cami who tilted her head at me.
I hung up and walked closer to her. "What time are you going to be back?"
"After dinner. I am going to go and talk with Razor and then I am coming right back. But the other girls should be here soon, you'll eat after they're all here, and then put on your first movie." I had heard that much of the plan anyways.
I gave her a kiss and moved towards Jackie who was just smirking at me. "You just had to go out tonight." She shook her head and finger at me, but still kept smiling.
"Yes. It's important." I told her, wondering if she was really mad and trying to cover it up.
"Yeah well... hopefully it isn't about me and what happened to the Jeep." She gulped and looked down.
"No honey. It's about whether or not we're going to accept someone as a new patch in." I told her and she bit her lip, probably not understanding but I felt my phone buzz again and I sighed. "I will explain more when I get home. Save me some of the good food." I kissed her softly, letting her make it hot and she bit my lip before I pulled away.
"Ok. But hurry. I might know how to plan and handle these girls, but that doesn't mean I might not be bored out of my mind." She ran her finger up and down my cut and circled the Razorback emblem over my heart.
"Yes honey." I gave her forehead a kiss and waved to Cami one more time before I went out to my bike.
I started it, blazed down the streets and was thankful the entire meeting that while yelling men did give me a headache, loud little girls would drive me to drink and I would have an even longer headache that hurt even worse.
Jackie's POV:
I wrung my fingers and gulped as all the girls ate, and talked, and ran around the house like they were little puppies. I hadn't even given them sugar.
Hopefully, instead of hyping them up later, it would make them even more tired and they would just crash.
I cleaned as they settled and watched the second movie, dolls in hand, still bouncing and slightly talking over the movie, but they had started to settle.
I dried my hands and heard the garage opening and sighed and leaned against the counter as Cami explained it was just her daddy coming home. I watched as none of them, but Cami bothered to say hi, some even looking like they were ready to sleep now.
Whoever made them that tired, I had to thank them one day. Lucien came in through the front door and made a beeline to kiss Cami hi before coming into the kitchen and kissing me hello. I got his dinner from the microwave as he washed his hand and took off his cut.
He sat down and pulled me onto his lap, and I wondered why he looked so irritated, but I let him eat before I asked any questions.
"Are you okay?" I asked him while I washed and dried his plate.
"No... but ask me about it after they sleep." He winked at me and I nodded slowly before sighing. I rubbed his shoulders, and he cracked his neck and relaxed into my touch.
I patted his shoulders and went to ask the girls that were still awake if they wanted to put on the next movie and have snack or go right to bed.
"Next movie and snacks... do you have cookies?" One of the girls asked and I nodded. I had brought some from the café, knowing they were better than factory or processed ones. I went and put them on the plate as Cami went to change the DVD. Putting the other DVD back in its case before putting it back in the basket it had come from earlier.
I smiled so happy she was helping me keep things organized. I gave out two cookies each, and before the movie was over, all the girls, even Cami were asleep.
I waited for the credits to roll in case any of them woke up, and I went to get Lucien. He was watching me move closer to him. I had told all the girls where they could find me if they needed anything in the middle of the night, but I had given a small tour and Cami even suggested to wake her up before they wake me up.
I felt Lucien more pushing me than letting me pull him into his room, and he turned to shut the door very quietly.
"Magic woman." He kissed me softly and I hummed and shook my head when his hands went to my shirt.
"We are not having s*x while there are little girls in the house. I feel nervous enough with just your daughter." I told him and he laughed but seemed to understand.
"Besides... headaches are enough to put me out of my misery tonight."
"Headaches huh? What happened?"
"A fight over the brothers."
"Physical?" I asked and he huffed.
"I wish. I wouldn't have a headache. They were shouting over the kid they want to patch in. some 19 year old who used to only do deliveries to the shop from all around, and now he works in the oil change, and apparently he wants in on the club. I don't get why... he never asked me or Razor, just the others he works with if he was the right fit... and now he isn't going to be a patch in. Just work for us."
"And that got men in a shouting match?" I asked and he nodded slowly before shoving his jeans down, and in my head, I had to chant that there were kids’ downstairs that weren't his.
"He's the stepson of a cop. We might not do illegal s**t, but that doesn't mean we don't brawl with other clubs that try and pull that s**t in our town." He moved to the bed I had made for the house tour for the girls, and he climbed in. I went to grab a pair of my shorts and tank top. I changed in front of him, not caring he might think I was teasing. Before I was in bed, I realized he had shrugged off his shirt too, and when I laid down, he kept on his elbow above me and traced the freckles on my arm up to my shoulder.
"So, what happens if he doesn't get to join?"
"He will probably still work for the garage, but if he really wants to join a club, he will have to go somewhere else, and we will fire him for associating with our rivals. It's not good for business."
"What if he still wants to join in a couple years?" I asked and he laughed.
"Once it's a no baby, it's a no forever. Unless there is a unanimous option for all of us to want him to be a prospect, then it might happen. However, that hasn't happened in years." He told me and I shrugged and ran a hand over his chest.
"So... a no is a no, but if he does something like save Razor from a bullet, or an accident, or a wrap... what?"
"I don't know. Last time there was a unanimous patch in it was Razor, and he was only 15. I didn't even know what he did, he didn't talk about it. He didn't like to. Not with anyone." He told me and I nodded slowly before biting my lip.
"Does he have a lady?"
"Ryan... he has sisters... and a mom... that's what he called 'enough women in his life' and I always tried to get him to talk about why he doesn't date, but he just keeps ignoring my questions. I stopped asking and pushing." He told me and I just nodded and worked my jaw, wondering if he would get caught up in a woman like Lucien and I seemed to be caught up in each other.
Maybe I would try and find a woman for him.
There were never enough women in a man’s life, we saved them... at least, that is what my momma used to say.
The more the women, the better thee man.
Razor needed a woman, a good one, a strong one. Someone who would give him what I was giving Lucien. Help.
Razor might not have kids, but he was probably thinking that every brother was his responsibility. It made sense, but that didn't mean he didn't get to relax or have a good life away from just club matters too.
I needed to get to know him better to. He was Lucien’s best friend, and Cami's godfather.
If I really wanted to stay with both of them, I would need his permission, and to get to know him too.
Another day, another add on.
Maybe one day he would be in the cafe and I could get to know him a bit.
