"Shut up,—James, stop! Hold it." Abby said, before James could ruin her mood again but he continued to say, "Why do you always shut me up when I'm trying to be vocal?" He complained, greatly offended by Abby's insensitive response.
James had enough of her, so he opted to leave just as he promised but Abby stopped him by holding his arm and pulling him to sit down on the chair.
