"Mom, what are you doing?" My mother turned to me, clearly annoyed. "What's it look like Elizabeth? I'm cleaning this trash pile you call an apartment." I glanced at Sarah, who thankfully was looking at the situation apathetically. "It's fine, mom. It's late, why don't we all go to bed?" "What do you mean 'all'?" "Sarah is staying over because of the weather. The snow has gotten pretty bad and I didn't think it was a good idea for her to drive home."
