There was a thick snow falling as we stepped out from the cafe that covered everything in a fluffy white blanket. The light from the street lamps peeked through the falling snow, creating an eerily beautiful ambience for us. As we walked towards my apartment, I held Sarah's finger in my hand, our arms swinging in unison as we went. In that moment I forgot about everything; I forgot about my mother, about how little I really knew about Sarah, about how I should act around my new partner, about just everything. It was peaceful, and as we edged closer and closer to the apartment, I felt a sense of dread creep up on me.
