Billie, the town veterinarian and his sister’s new girlfriend, examined him while he stood there in wolf form. It felt weird to be treated like an animal, by another wolf nonetheless.
She lifted his back paw, then carefully rotated the leg, testing the limits of his flexibility.
“Yeah.” She frowned in thought. “This is definitely in the supernatural territory. This kind of healing for something congenital isn’t normal. Shouldn’t have happened, yet it did.” She patted his rump and grinned. “You can shift now.”
He rolled his eyes and walked to where he’d left his clothes on the couch. He shifted back, marveling at how easy and natural it felt.
“It’s the bond then, right? Nothing else has changed.” He pulled on underwear, sweats, and a cardigan he knew Kyler liked to see
