"Look man we are just traveling through. We didn’t realize we were on your Pack lands." Zeke stated as he looked around guns pointed at them in all directions.
"You're werewolves aren’t you? You should know where the boundaries are." The man replied.
Zeke looked at him. He was and older gentleman maybe in his Sixties or seventies. Likely the Alpha he could feel a strong aura pouring off of him. "We aren’t from this area, and I am sorry we don’t know the boundaries here. We will leave straight away and not come back."
The man shook his head. "That is not acceptable." He looked over at man next to him. "You shouldn't have made it this far." He glared at the man. "You’re going to come with us for now. Ryan get their guns."
The man next to him walked over and grabbed their guns.
The old man turned and started to walk away as the others followed. The one names Ryan pushing Zeke forward to follow. James and Chase looked at one another as two more men pushed them forward as well. They walked for about fifteen minutes, they walked out of the tree line and saw a small cabin, many tents surrounding it. Everyone stopped and looked around as they approached. People were working. Doing laundry, some were training, others were cooking. An older woman walked over meeting them. "Samson what is going on?" She asked.
"We found them at the creek eating berries." He replied.
"And you what? Took them as prisoner?" She huffed shaking her head. She walked over and smiled at Zeke. "Put your hands down, you'll have to excuse my husband he thinks everyone is out to attack us."
"Gemma!" Then man said walking next to her. "Some are coming to attack us. Your son was busy." He glared at Ryan. "And let them stroll right in."
Gemma rolled her eyes. "These boys aren't a threat relax. Are you boys hungry?"
Zeke looked at the man and then back at Gemma. He slowly let his hands down, Jams and Chase following suit. "Honestly? We're starving."
Gemma smiled and put her arm behind his. "Follow me." She winked.
"Gemma!" The older man called. She threw her hand up dismissing him as she walked towards the cabin. The man sighed and followed behind. They made their way into the cabin and then down a small hallway into the kitchen. "Sit sit." Gemma smiled pointing to a table.
Zeke, James and Chase sat down as the older man walked over to Gemma. She was pulling some things out of cupboards, and turned on a camp stove that was sitting on top of the electric stove. She sat a pan on top. The old man bent over and whispered to her. "Samson stop!" She sighed. "You can ask them whatever you want, but look at them." She pointed towards them. "They look as if they haven't eaten good in weeks." She shook her head and walked over. She smiled at them and sat a loaf of bread down. "I've got soup too give me just a minute." They stood their staring at one another as Samson and Gemma fused at one another. Ryan standing in the doorway watching them. A few minutes later she walked over and sat three bowls in front of them. She smiled and sat down on one of the chairs. "Eat."
They smiled and started digging in. Samson took one of the other seats. "Alright I have questions." He sternly said.
Zeke nodded. "We are happy to answer any questions you have."
"Well." Gemma looked at Samson. "How about you tell us your names first? This is Samson, Alpha and I am Gemma Luna of Night Walker Pack. That handsome guy." She smiled. "Is Ryan our son." They looked at Ryan who nodded.
"I am Zeke, and this is James and Chase."
Gemma smiled. "Nice to meet you."
"Where are you from?" Samson asked.
"Our pack is close to Indianapolis." Zeke informed them.
"I know of some of the Alpha's from that area, what pack are you from?" Samson looked at them seriously.
Zeke looked at James and then Chase. "Look I understand your concern about strangers wandering into your pack lands. But I am not comfortable telling you what pack we are from and chancing you retaliating against them. With all due respect Alpha, we have no idea who you guys are either."
Samson stared at Zeke trying to read him. He nodded. "I can understand that. How about telling me why you left and are all the way here?"
"We left to see if we could find out mates." Zeke stated.
Ryan walked over and sat down at the table. "You left your packs to search for your mate?"
James nodded. "We're all from the same pack though."
Ryan looked at his mom and smiled. She shook her head.
"We figured out best chance was getting out for awhile and searching for them. I had been holding out hope for the Decade ball, but when the grid went down I figured that wasn’t happening." Zeke filled them in.
Samson nodded. "You seem to be telling the truth. Don’t hold it against me, my pack comes first."
Zeke nodded. "I understand. I would have reacted in the same way. We have had our own fair share of problems since this all started. We had hoped once we took out Asher." Zeke shook his head. "Sorry I am tired and speaking out of turn."
"Asher?" Samson asked. "Asher Adlestone?"
Zeke furrowed his brows and nodded.
"Was he the cause of all of this?" Samson asked.
"We think he more took advantage of the situation he knew was coming then created it." Zeke replied. "Why did you know him?"
Samson shook his head. "Yes. I went to college with him and his brother Amos. When he went off the rails I joined Amos in the wars from twenty years ago. I thought he had left for good." He sighed.
Gemma reached over and grabbed his hand. He looked up at her and smiled.
"Did he try and come take the title from Amos?" Samson asked.
Zeke looked at James and Chase mind linking them. They both nodded. "Yes they attacked and we were able to kill Asher, but Amos died as well."
Gemma started crying. "What about Dahlia?"
Zeke smiled. "Dahlia is fine."
Gemma nodded. "I don’t know if that’s better or not. She lost everyone, her whole family."
"Well." Zeke smiled. "That's not entirely true."
"What do you mean?" Samson asked.
Zeke looked at them. They seemed to be trustworthy, but could they trust them? Six months ago he wouldn't have given it a second thought. But things were different now, people were different now. The last six months had changed everyone and some not for the better.
Samson could see his hesitation. "I know you don’t trust us, but I promise we are on the level. Amos was a good friend." He reached over and grabbed Gemma's hand. "We were both there when they buried Samuel and Sophrona. Our daughter is Samuel's age." He laughed. "She used to drive him crazy chasing him around. I think she had a crush on him. And Sophrona, she just adored her."
"Please." Gemma pleaded. "Tell me how Dahlia is doing?"
Zeke nodded. "Well." He laughed. "Sophrona is alive. They sent her away with the pack Beta and his wife to raise and faked her death so that Asher couldn't find her."
"What?" Gemma gasped. "She is alive? And with Dahlia?"
Zeke nodded. "She is our Luna."
Gemma smiled, wiping her cheek. "I am so happy to hear that." She looked at Samson and they hugged.
"But I talked to Dahlia a few years ago at an Alpha gathering, she didn’t say anything." Gemma stated.
"Well she ended up in the system after Rebecca and Michael died in a car accident. She didn’t know she was a wolf, they had a spell out in her to hide it. Our Alpha found her just a few weeks before everythign went crazy."
Gemma shook her head. "Wow. All those years. So she is okay?"
Zeke nodded. "She is great."
Gemma smiled then looked at Samson. "Jade will be so happy to hear that."
Samson nodded. "She will." He turned and looked at them. "If Sophrona is your Luna, then you must be part of The Forrest Pack."
Zeke laughed. "Yes that's party true. We are from The Shadow pack. Justin Wright is our Alpha, but when he and Sophie got married our two packs merged into one. We are now The Shadow Forrest Pack."
Samson got a wide grin on his face. "I can’t believe I didn’t see it before." He laughed. "You're Elias boy."
Zeke nodded. "I am."
"And are they ok?" Gemma asked.
Zeke smiled. "They are great. Loving being grandparents to Justin's kids."
Gemma smiled. "I bet they are. You have met our Jade before once at a big Alpha gathering. Like we said, she had a huge crush on Samuel, so she followed the three of you around the entire week."
Zeke laughed. "Oh my gosh I remember that! It was a big resort right? They rented the entire place. She did follow us around, it drove Sam crazy." He laughed.
Gemma stood up. "I am going to go fetch Jade. She should be here for this." She rushed out the door.
"Well." Samson chuckled. "It seems I really did overreact." He held out his hand, shaking each of their hands. "No hard feelings, we have to be careful these days."
Chase laughed. "I am glad we figured that out. I thought you were gonna put us in a dungeon and throw away the key!"
James shook his head. "Agreed. I thought I was doomed to die a virgin when you surrounded us."
They all look at him and burst into laughter.
"Sorry, but I guess the intimidation factor worked." Samson laughed. "Ryan here was supposed to be on patrol but he was making out with my Beta's daughter instead."
Ryan shrugged. "I too had been holding out for the Decade ball that is now not happening. Who knows if I'll meet my mate now."
Samson looked at his son, then at the other three. "You know that give me an idea. Why don’t we.."
James jumped out of his chair and spun around looking down the hallway towards the front door. "MATE!"
