"What the hell is going on?" A man walked out of the woods. He looked at the man with the gun.
"Alpha." The man replied. "They were trespassing on pack lands."
The Alpha looked at Chase and then Zeke. "Well you are out gunned. Did you even ask them what they are doing here?"
"No they didn't." Zeke sneered.
The Alpha shook his head. He walked over and grabbed the gun out of the mans hands. "Dammit Harvey you’re always going around half c****d. What did I tell you about that?" He turned and looked at Zeke. "I am sorry about my i***t brother. He is always worried someone is coming to attack us. Please put the gun down and tell us why you're here."
Zeke looked at the Alpha then the others. He slowly put the gun down. "We are looking for Dark Moon Pack and Alpha Miller."
"I am Alpha Miller. Why are you looking for me?"
"Alpha Samson of the Night Walker pack told me where your pack lands would be. We were searching for our mates when we ran into them. He told us we could trust you."
Alpha Miller nodded. "I am glad to hear he is ok. What about his Family?"
"They are all fine. Surviving for the moment."
"That is good. Let's head to the Packhouse we can talk there." He turned and started through the woods. "Oh and please call me Sylas."
They walked for about ten minutes when they came to a big house, surrounded by other smaller homes. They walked into the house and then took seats in the living room.
"So." Sylas said. "Who are you guys? What pack are you from? What is it I can do for you guys?"
"I am Zeke and this is Chase. We are from the Shadow Forrest pack." Zeke replied.
"Shadow forest?" Sylas questioned.
"Yes the Forest pack and Shadow pack combined as one, when our Alpha Justin Wright found his mate, Sophie Adlestone. Long story, but turns out she's been alive this whole time."
"Ah I know Alpha Wright. Good guy, very serious, but good guy. What is it you need from us?"
"Samson had the idea to go ahead and have the Decade Ball this year. He asked us to spread the word."
"Will it be at your pack, as it was originally supposed to be?"
Zeke nodded. "Samson along with another guy who was travelling and found his mate were going to talk to him, But knowing Sophie I’d say its yes."
"Well. I admit I am happy to hear that. I havent found my mate either, I would love the chance to meet her at the ball. So you guys are traveling in search of your mates?"
Zeke nodded. "Yes we've been out about four weeks. One out of three of us isn't bad odds I guess."
"Well in that case I will have to take you guys for a walk around the pack, see if maybe one of you find her here." Sylas offered.
"We would appreciate that Alpha thank you." Zeke smiled.
They got up and Sylas took them out to the pack, He introduced them to his leaders, walked through the neighborhood of homes, and stopped by the hospital. They had no luck finding their Mates here in Dark Moon Pack.
"Well I was hoping." Sylas stated. "Sorry about that."
"Not your fault. Maybe they are no longer on this earth, maybe they are with the Moon Goddess now." Chase mused.
"I don't believe that." Sylas shook his head. "I believe they are still out there, just waiting for us to find them."
"I hope you're right." Zeke chimed in.
"Why don’t you guys stay here tonight? Head out in the morning? I know Layton Hayda, Alpha to the Red Moon pack was still fairing well a few weeks ago. I can show you where to find them."
"Samson showed us their Parklands on the map."
Sylas shook his head. "They're not there anymore. They moved to a subdivision a couple months back. They came through here and we helped them find a spot to settle."
Zeke nodded. "Thank you we would appreciate the help."
"No problem."

A young woman with long dark brown hair was gathering berries in the forest. She was wearing jeans and a t-shirt with a black cloak over top, a sword on her right hip. She was humming when she heard someone coming through the woods. She got worried and his behind the bush. A big, broad shouldered man came walking up. She stayed hidden face down trying to make herself as small as possible.
"I already saw you, it’s no use hiding. I thought I told you stop going into the woods by yourself princess. It’s dangerous."
She walked out of the bushes. "I didn’t realize it was you, and I am tired of being copped up in that cabin all the time. You treat me as if I am some damsel who can’t take care of herself!" She snapped, then stomped past him.
"Princess wait. I am sorry but you are our responsibility. Your father would kill me if anything happened to you."
"What the hell does it matter now? We will probably never see them again anyways!"
"Don't say that, you may still."
She turned and glared at him. "It's been six months since things went to hell. If there was any way possible to get here, don’t you think they would have done it by now?"
The man frowned and lowered his head. "You're probably right."
She rolled her eyes and turned walking into a clearing where their was a huge cabin next to a lake. Another big man was pacing in front of the cabin and came running over when he saw them.
"Princess why did…" The man said.
She raised her hand up in the air at him. "Don’t you start with me too." She stomped up the stairs of the cabin and slammed the door behind her.
"She's in a mood again isn't she?"
"Can you blame her? This was only supposed to be a two day visit, she misses them."
The second man nodded. "I miss them too. I hope they're ok. Do you think things are as bad there as they are here?"
"I don’t know. But as she just said to me, if there was any way for them to get here to her, they would have by now."
"We better give her some time too cool off. Let's see if we can catch some dinner."
The girl walked into the kitchen and sat the basket of berries down on the island next to a cast iron dutch oven. She turned grabbing some flour and sugar from the cabinet. She grabbed a knife and cutting board. She mixed the flour and sugar. Then grabbed a jar of butter sitting on the countertop. She rinsed the berries off, laid them on a towel, then proceeded to slice them in half. As she cut she put them into the Dutch oven. She was just about finished when her hand slipped cutting her finger. "Ouch!" She threw the knife down and grabbed her finger. Tears started falling down her cheeks, as she put the cut to her mouth. She turned and slid down the side of the island to the floor. She brought her knees up to her chest and sobbed in to her hands.
"Princess I am sorry I got so mad. I was just worried about you." The man from earlier walked in. He looked and saw blood on the cutting board then her sobbing on the floor. He rushed over kneeling at her side. "What's wrong, what happened?"
She looked up at him and showed him her finger. "I just cut my finger it’s fine."
"Why are you crying?"
"I just miss them. I wish we had never come here." She cried.
The man laid a hand on her shoulder. "I am so sorry princess. I miss home too." She leaned in and wrapped her arms around him, catching him off guard. He rubbed her back. "It's ok Wenig you've still got us."
She sobbed into his chest as he continued to rub her back. She pictured home, her father, mother, her brother, she missed them so much. She missed the mountains outside her window from the castle. The way the sunset would dance along the water as it departed behind the mountain peaks. But atleast she had them, atleast they stayed by her side when things went bad. She had grown to love these two men who had been in her life as long as she could remember. Always her protectors, always with her. She used to try to ditch them, it drove her crazy never having any privacy. But now she was grateful for them. They had been calling her Wenig any time she was sad for as long as she could remember. She asked him once why, and he said in his country it meant little one. She found it anoying at the time. As a 12 year old, she thoguht she was too big to still be called little one. Now however she found comfort in that nickname. After all, these two barreling men where still twice her size, so to them she was still a little one.
She wiped her cheeks and stood up. "Thank you Hans. I am thankful I have you and Klaus."
"Is your finger ok? We are trying to catch dinner, would you like to join us?"
She shook her head. "No I am going to finish this cobbler. My finger is fine. I'll put a band aid on it. Could you start a fire for me?"
He nodded. "Of course Princess."
She walked to the bathroom and pulled a first-aid kit out of the sink cabinet. She sat on the floor next to the bathtub, put some ointment on the cut, then wrapped it in a band-aid. She closed the first aid kit and leaned against the tub. 'Atleast I won’t have to marry that jerk of a prince now.' She thought to herself. She put the first aid kit back, walked to the kitchen and finished making her cobbler.
