Marie

I groaned and slowly opened my eyes. Everything is white.

Why is this scenario seem familiar? Am I in the hospital again?

I slowly rise to sitting position rubbing my temple.

What happened?

The door opened and Leah came in. She beamed when she saw me awake.

"Great you're awake!" She exclaimed rushing towards me.

She pulled me in a tight hug, before placing a gentle kiss on the top of my head.

She pulled away and looked at me.

"Are you feeling okay? Does your head hurts?" She asked.

"What happened? Where is Nathan?" I asked.

"You passed out Marie. You were out since yesterday. Nathan brought you here." She told me.

Not again.

I been having this flashes of what I think is my past, accompanied with headache for a month now. I'm not telling to anyone, even Leah. This may be the worst attack ever. I even passed out.

"Leah, where is Nathan?" I asked her.

"He was here yesterday, then he received a call from his mother. So he had to leave." She said.

I looked down in my fingers.

"I see."

Nathan's mother never like me. The first time we met, the clear disgust is written on her pretty face.

"Marie honey, tell me what happened." leah said.

I sighed and looked at her.

"Im having these flashes. A little girl and three boys. They're looking at the stars. They're happy..." I told her.

"Do you think they are your memories?" she asked.

I shrugged.

"I don't think so. The girl seems very elegant, sophisticated even in her pajamas." I told her.

She sighed.

"Why don't you rest for now and don't think about it too much."

Leah smiled and patted my head. Then she left.

She might have said not to think about that much but still. If its a memory, then who are those boys? Who is the girl?

By the end of the day, I was discharged with a strict orders that I should take it easy.

The next day, I decided to go to work. Hilda was worried that she became like a protective mama bear. Even Tina constantly asking how I feel. I assured them that I'm alright and that they don't need to worry.

I haven't heard from Nathan since my latest episode. He just sent me one text saying that he was kind of busy with work.

I know he's been a very busy person way before we met but I'm just not used to this kind of busy. When we started our relationship, he's a very devoted boyfriend. But now, I feel like he's not the same man I loved.

To take my mind off my recent episodes and Nathan's absence, I decided to go to work and keep myself busy.

"Are you sure you're okay to work now?" Tina asked me.

I gave her a small smile.

"Of course. I've been telling you guys a million times. Besides I cannot stay at home. I'm gonna loose my mind." I told her.

"If you feel something just tell us okay?"

I nodded and we went back to work.

Honestly, I wanted to work because I need to keep my mind occupied. I can't stop thinking about Nathan , and what's going on with him.

Alexander

I was in my office when I received a call from my best friend Nathan.

"What the hell are you doing in Macau?" I asked.

"I have some things to take care of. " he said.

I let out an audible sigh.

"Did you even tell Marie?"

"No. I don't want to stress her with my problems. She needs to rest."

"Did you even think that she's stressing more when you'd suddenly disappear just like that? Without even a word? "

"She's not well Alex. She's having those fainting episodes again. I can't handle her being like that. I don't even know how to help her." He reasoned.

I rubbed my temple.

"You can help her by breaking up with her." I told him.

"f**k no! Why would I do that?!” he exclaimed.

"Nathan we both know that it'll happen eventually. You know your fate is already written and yet you chose to defy it. " I paused.

"You know from the start your relationship with her isn't going anywhere." I added.

"Alex, you're suppose to be my friend. You're suppose to support me in every decision I make. Not criticize me!"

"I'm not. I'm just telling you the truth. Do you really think aunt Natalia will let you end up with a girl with no money, worst no memories?! " I argued.

"The hell I care about her being poor or having amnesia! I love Marie and that's enough. I will marry her even if its the last thing I do! Now stop terrorizing her! She's very upset with you!"

"Like I care! I'm just telling the truth. End everything with her or I'll tell her what's really going on."

"Don't you dare Alexander! Stay out of our relationship! I never did meddle with yours!"

And then he hanged up. I sighed and put the phone down.

"Stubborn son of a bitch." I grumbled.

I pressed the intercom button and called up my secretary Janice.

When she entered my office.

"Is there anything I can do for you sir?" She asked.

"Cancel all my appointments today. I have something personal to take care of." I told her.

"Y-yes sir. Uhm..."

I glared at her.

"What is it?!"

She visibly gulped.

"Your mother called. She said you have to accompany her to Monaco this weekend to attend a royal gathering." She said.

"Tell her I'm busy. I have no time to play tea with those stuck up royals." I told her and got up, leaving her gaping like a fish.

Marie

Around four in the afternoon, the shop is pretty much packed. I was waiting tables when a beautiful and elegant lady approached me.

"Is there anything I can help you with ma'am?" I asked her.

"Are you Marie?" She asked.

"Yes ma'am?"

She raised her eyebrows and looked at me from head to toe. Like she's inspecting every single detail of my appearance.

"I admit you have a pretty face. No wonder Nathaniel is so fascinated. But that won't last." She said.

I furrowed my eyebrows when she mentioned Nathan.

"You know Nathan?” I asked.

"Know Nathan? Of course I know Nathan. He's m-"

"What are you doing here Anika?”

We both turned and saw Alex standing with his hands tucked inside his pockets.

The lady who's name is Anika smiled.

"Nothing Alex. I just wanted to meet Marie here. And see for my self what kind of girl Nathan chose over me." She said.

What?

Alex smirked and shook his head.

"Now you've seen her. You can leave." He said.

The girl Anika rolled her eyes.

"Fine. I'll leave." She paused and glared my way.

"She's not much of a competition anyway." She added before walking away.

I was left dumbfounded. Who is she? How did she know Nathan?

"That's Anika Reeves. The daughter of the owner of the biggest publishing company here in New York." Alex paused and looked at me.

"She's Nathan's fiancee." He added.

The menu fell from my hands the moment those words left Alex's lips.

"You're lying." I mumbled.

Alex shrugged.

"I am not. You can ask Nathan if you like. I told you. The two of you are not meant for each other. Nathan's future has been written the moment he was born. And you coming to his life just mess it up."

He said before turning his back and walking away.

He's engaged to someone else?

I felt my chest hurt. All of the sudden its hard to breath. And then everything went dark
