The Blur Flashbacks

I woke up when I felt someone shaking my shoulders. It was Nathan smiling down at me.

"Wake up sleepy head, we're here." He said.

I looked outside the window. Trees. I see a lot of trees.

"Where are we?" I asked him.

"Minnewaska State Park Preserve. We're just hours away from the city, but perfect place to unwind. " Nathan said.

He opened his door and stepped out of the car. I unbuckled my seatbelt and followed him out.

Nathan grabbed our bags before taking my hand.

"Our cabin's this way. Come on."

He lead us to a trail leading us inside the forest. I marvelled my surroundings while walking.

"Its beautiful here." I said

"I know. That's why I chose this place for us." He said.

After a couple of minutes, we're in front of a cabin. Nathan pulled a key from his pocket and opened the front door. He stepped back letting me go in first.

"Ladies first." He said.

I walked through the door. I gawked when I see the cabin's interior. It felt warm and cozy.

"Nathan, this place is awesome." I told him.

Nathan closed the door before dropping our bags next to the couch.

I looked around. I jumped on the bed next to the window. I closed my eyes just feeling the soft mattress.

I felt the bed dipped, and I opened my eyes. I saw Nathan hovering me.

"I'm sorry I've been very busy." He said.

I cupped his cheek and gave him a small smile.

"I understand."

He brought my palm on his lips.

"I love you Marie. You're my everything."

I smiled and pulled him to me until our lips meet.

Our lips moved in sync. Warmth and a different sensation pooled my abdomen down in between my thighs.

I felt his hands inside my shirt, caressing my sides. I pulled him closer and deepened our kiss.

Next thing I know, our clothes were scattered on floor, our skin glistened with sweat as our bodies become one

I woke up feeling something heavy on my waist. I looked on it and saw Nathan's arm draped around me. I smiled and removed a few strands of his hair from his face.

I placed a small kiss on his forehead before removing his arm around me. I slipped out of bed and grabbed my clothes on the floor. I went into the bathroom to freshen up and get dressed.

I went towards the small kitchen and inspect everything. The fridge has stocked with food.

I decided to cook for our dinner. I grabbed some chicken from the freezer, cream, pasta, and cheese from the cabinets.

I began cooking his favorite meal.

I was placing plates on the table when an arm snaked around my waist, and a gentle kiss landed on my neck.

"Hmm.. That smells amazing." Nathan said.

I giggled and turned around facing him.

"Why don't you sit down and eat." I said.

He smiled and pulled down a chair for me. Once I was seated, he pulled the chair next to mine and sat down.

He started to devour the food I cooked.

"Your cooking skills once again amazes me." He said.

I rolled my eyes.

"Just eat."

He chuckled and continued eating. I begun to eat my food as well.

After finishing our food, Nathan volunteered to wash the dishes. While he was washing, I noticed that it was already dark outside. I decided to step out a bit for some air.

Once I set foot outside, the chilly window caused me to hug myself. I looked up to see millions of stars sparkling.

"Wow." I mumbled.

Then a scenario flashed in my mind. It was in huge garden. The place was illuminated by fairy lights, and the dark sky was full of millions of stars.

A little girl appeared wearing nothing but her pajamas. She was looking up in the sky, smiling. But I cannot seem to see her face. It was blurred. She plopped down in a concrete garden bench.

" Rie Rie. Entre. Maman et papa seront bientôt de retour. Nous devons être dans nos lits maintenant"

('Rie rie. Come inside. Mom and dad will be back soon. We have to be in our beds now.')

A little boy with his face blurred like the girl appeared, casually walking towards the girl.

" Mais Ron, le ciel est si joli! C'est comme les bijoux de maman " the little girl said.

(But Ron, the sky is so pretty! Its like mom's jewelries.)

The little boy shook his head with a smile across his face.

" Il est tard. Nous devons dormir " The boy said.

(Its late. We have to sleep)

Then two boys who seems older than the two children appeared with their arms crossed over their chest. Like the other two, they're faces was blurred as well.

"Vous deux entrez à l'intérieur maintenant. Il est tard.." the tallest boy that looked like the eldest said.

(The two of you get inside now. Its late.)

The little girl pouted.

" Non, je veux regarder les étoiles. " the little girl said.

(No. I want to watch the stars.)

The older boy sighed.

"Vous pouvez le faire à l'intérieur. Nous avons un observatoire pour une raison." The other older boy said.

(You can do it inside. We have an observatory for a reason.)

'No.' The little girl huffed.

The two boys looked at each other and sighed. They walked towards the two younger children, and sat at the each side of the little girl and boy.

The little girl began talking but I can't seem to hear her now. Then the whole place started to darken.
