I was doing my best to hide it, but the truth was that I was really excited for my picnic with Dan. I wasn't sure what was more exciting, the picnic in itself, or the idea of swimming in the lake. Once I had decided to let things go and enjoy my day, it was like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders, and I felt young and carefree.
"So you are excited for your picnic?" Dillan asked.
"I'm looking forward to visiting the lake. It's something I wasn't expecting, but it sounds so cool!"
"I'm glad, it's so nice to see you smiling," he said, moving closer to me. He lifted his hand, as if he wanted to touch my smile, but at the last second he realized what he was doing and moved his hand back. "I really hope you enjoy your afternoon."
