They went down two flights of ladders near the stern, descending into well illuminated deck space with gleaming varnished bulkheads and polished brass railings. Two decks down, Marla stopped at an unmarked door and used a magnetic key card to open it. It was a normal young woman’s room with a few items of clothing strewn about, but generally neat and clean. She excused herself and went to use the head. Casco sat on the bed and did a double take when he saw a single metal hand cuff chained to a steel pad eye on the bulkhead next to the bed.
