Chapter II: Vacation Time!

Ryan POV

    As I was packing my bags, my cell phone rung.

Me: Hi Madda!

Mom: Hey, son. Just checking to see what time you will be landing today. I want to have one of the warriors pick you up at the airport.

Me: We will land between 12noon and 1pm. Mom, I didn’t tell my girlfriend and my friends about our kind. So please we can only use our names and not our titles.

Mom: That’s fine with me but when are you going to tell her who you are?

Me: I plan to tell her during our vacation. I will feel more comfortable telling her at home. They don’t know that we exist. I’m scare that she won’t accept me, Madda.

Mom: Son, she loves you and will accept you. You have to trust her. She might be upset because you waited so long to tell her.

Me: I know, Madda… How’s Ajani and Kalani?

Mom: Your brother and sister are fine. He just upset that the elders what him to choose a mate. Don’t forget that I planned a dinner party for you tomorrow night.

Me: I know, Madda. Did he pick one yet?

Mom: No, he is waiting for you to come home so yall can discuss it.

Me: Madda, he is stalling…  

Mom: He just wants to wait and finds his destined mate.

Me: I understand because it’s nothing like it.

I heard my brother voice in the background.

Me: Mom, is that Ajani? Let me talk with him.

Mom: Ok, son. I will see you tomorrow. Ajani, your brother wants to talk with you.

Ajani: Hey, Brotha! Is she coming?

Me: Hey, Brotha and yes. What’s going on, Ajani? Why do you need to meet my mate’s best friend?

Ajani: Ryan, it’s none of your concern.

Me: You know she is human.

Ajani: Yes, I know…

Me: Ok… I will see you later, Brotha.

    I hung up my cell phone and started to think back to when I came home for a weekend to handle pack business. Ajani and I was in my bedroom when I started to unpack my clothes. As I took out my shirt, Ajani snatched the shirt out of my hands. He says, “Who shirt is this?” I say, “It’s mines… My mate’s best friend gave me the shirt for my birthday… Why?” He took my shirt and left my room. I never received an explanation on why he took my shirt. Ever since then, he has been trying to arrange a meeting with my mate’s best friend. I tried to string him along because my mate’s best friend is in a relationship with one of my friends. I don’t want to hurt either one of them. My brother threaten that he would come to the states so he could meet her. Ajani in the states would be a disaster. My brother is our Alpha of our werewolf pack, Moonshine. Alphas do not play well with other Alphas especially when it comes to their destined mate. I don’t need him causing trouble with the werewolf packs in the states. I made the decision to bring my mate, Bryna’, and Travis to my home country, Jamaica. My thoughts were interrupted by my wolf, Knox.

He says, “I told you, she is his destined mate. Our Luna! You didn’t see when his wolf almost took over. He became possessive over the shirt.” I say, “Yeah, I missed that part. Why didn’t he just tell me?” He says, “He wants to make sure, and his wolf must confirm it.” I say, “This is going to be a mess… Our Luna is a human.” He says, “Yes, just like our mate.” I say, “I am going to tell her about us during this vacation.” He says, “It’s about time… I’ve been dying to meet our mate for six months now.” I say, “I know… You have died yet tho!” He says, “Whatever!” He blocks me. I know it’s wrong to keep a secret from Lazaye, but I haven’t had the courage to tell her about my family. If Bryna is my brother’s destined mate, this is going to be harder than I thought. Once I was done packing, I caught a taxi to the airport.

Travis POV

    I was seating with my girlfriend, Bryna’ and Lazaye at the airport gate. My girlfriend says, “You had to bring your computer with you on vacation.” I say, “Yes, I have a video meeting with a very important client this Thursday. Once I win this case, I will make partner.” She says, “I know…” She turns and start talking with Lazaye. I know that she feels neglected but everything I am doing… I am doing for us and our future. I want to give her everything she wants. I was hoping that we could talk about the investor position at her company. This would be very good for us and her. I’ve decided that she would be my only focus while we are on vacation. I wish I could have rescheduled the video meeting, but I couldn’t. I closed my computer and ask the girls if they want something to drink. They both declined so I walked to the nearest concession store. I ended up bumping into Ryan. 

“Hi Ryan… Glad to see you on time, man.”

“I know, right… traffic was terrible this morning. Are the girls here?”

“Yeah, they are waiting at the airport gate. Bryna’ is in a mood.”

“You must have your computer.”

“Yeah, I didn’t have a choice.”

“Well, I hope you will show her some attention while you are on this trip.”

“Yeah, about that… Can you arrange a private dinner for Sunday night on the beach?”

“Travis, that’s a good idea. I will have the resort manager set it up for you.”

“Ryan, thanks so much. You ready for Lazaye to meet your family.”

“Yeah, this gives me a change to show her where I come from.”

“Jamaica is an awesome and romantic place.”

“Yes, for the tourists but not for us.”

“Ryan, I understand…”

“Let’s get back to our ladies and get on this flight.”

    Ryan and I walked back to the airport gate. As usual, Lazaye ran and jumped into Ryan’s arms. The are like an old couple from them black and white movies. I am very happy that my friend found love. It took forever for us to arrange them to meet each other. I mat Ryan when he needed some legal work completed for a resort contract in Atlantic City. They were able to make the purchase on a casino resort. Ryan was so down-to-earth; I knew he would hit it off with Lazaye. He also has a protective and sibling type of relationship with Bryna’.

    We boarded the plane and set in first class. I turned to Bryna and say, “I know you feel neglected, and I haven’t spent a lot of time with you. You will have my undivided attention for now on. I know that I have to make you my number one priority. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I love you, Bryna.” She leaned towards me and gives me a kiss. I just hope, I’m not to late to make things better.
