NARRATOR'S POV
The weight of the situation pressed down on Adira's fragile heart, leaving her on the verge of contemplation. "Is what I am doing right? Am I being stupid? No! It can't be stupidity. I love him, and I have to make this work," Adira said in her mind as she sat on the outlook of the environment.
After the humiliation and accusations, Adira still couldn't stop coming to watch over her lover at night. It was her prior job to look after her mate. Putting her life on the line and nearly starving to death.
As King Jasper came to know and was sure that Brayan had evicted Adira from his life, he decided to make use of the great opportunity to strike. His plans were greatly strategized, following the fact that Brayan was too strong to be eliminated like an ordinary man. But his plans started going in a different direction the moment Kiki confessed her love for Brayan as he addressed her in the well-decorated king's sitting room.
Kiki angrily stood up from the chair and stood at the back of the couch. "Dad, I can't do what you are asking me to do. That's evil from a well-respected king like you. I can't!" She said that and looked away.
King Jasper chuckled and asked Kiki, "When you sent his mate away with the charm, that wasn't evil, right?"
Kiki turned, moved closer to her father, and went down on her knees. "Dad, I thought you did that for me to have him; you know how much I love him. Please, whatever he has done to you, let it go." She pleaded, but King Jasper wasn't having any of that.
"That young man can't be alive; he is a threat to our family. Don't you understand?" He rhetorically asked, causing tears to drop from Kiki's eyes.
"Dad, just this one favor, and I can do whatever you wish for me to do. Please, do it for me," she pleaded. King Jasper looked at her from head to toe and smiled.
"Well, I wish I could say no to you. I will spare him, but you have to be careful," he said to Kiki, and she happily jumped up from her knees and hugged her father. As she was about to leave, King Jasper called her back. "I have a gift box for your man," he said, and he ordered one of his men to bring the gift. After some minutes, he came in with a very beautiful box and handed it over to Kiki.
Kiki's face lightened up more; she smiled uncontrollably and asked her father, "Dad, what is inside?"
King Jasper replied with a smile without saying anything. Kiki asked him again, and he answered with a smiley face, "It's a surprise for him."
Kiki smiled and thanked him, then turned to leave. King Jasper called her back, "Please return immediately; you dropped that for him. I want us to talk about a very important thing," he said, and Kiki accepted. She happily left.
King Jasper remembered the prophecy when the witch told him that his kingdom would be ruled by Brayan and a golden child. He immediately pictured it as his daughter, and he swore that nobody could come between him and his kingship. He sent his men after his daughter.
Darkness was already taking over the day as Kiki happily went to deliver the gift.
Adira sat in her secret spot and watched as Kiki went inside Brayan's house. She quickly remembered the dream where Kiki came to Brayan's house with a rose that turned into a sword. Fear gripped her, but she couldn't do anything.
As Kiki went inside, she happily dropped the gift and ran to Brayan. They hugged and exchanged a quick kiss. "Come with me; I have a surprise for you," Kiki said, dragging Brayan to see the gift. Adira watched their shadows move from outside. Her instinct was giving her bad signals, but she couldn't do anything or even figure out what was about to happen. She rubbed her stomach.
As Brayan tried to open the box, Kiki refused. "No, it's a surprise for only you. My dad said it's a special gift for his son-in-law, and you should be the only one to see it," she said, and they smiled. Kiki dropped the piece of flower in her hand as she heard a knock on the door. It was her guards who were trying to remind her of the meeting with her father. "I have to go now. I will come by later; I have a meeting with my dad." They hugged and exchanged a quick kiss. Kiki happily left. Brayan stood in front of the gift, smiling. Something was strange about the gift, but he wanted to know what was inside.
A few minutes after Kiki left, Brayan's house exploded. Adira, who saw the drastic incident, ran to Brayan's house. As she entered, the house was covered by smoke, which made her cough uncontrollably. "Brayan! Brayan! Brayan!" She called out to him, but there was no response for some seconds.
Adira saw Brayan on the floor, breathing profusely and coughing. She ran to get water and poured it on Brayan. As Brayan regained himself, he stood up and pushed Adira close to the fire. "Fool! You are here again. This time, you turned the gift the king gave me into a time bomb. How dare you?" He groaned.
Adira tried to stand up, but Brayan didn't allow her. He pushed her again and ran out of the house. Adira struggled to stand up; on getting to the door, Brayan had locked it. "Brayan!!!!!!!" Adira screamed, but there was no answer. Brayan stood outside the house, watching his house get destroyed by fire.
Adira started coughing and hitting the door at the same time. The fire was fast approaching her, but she couldn't do anything. She continued crying and pleading to be saved. "Even if you won't save me, save your child inside me," Adira screamed.
As Brayan heard that, it sent a signal, but he ignored it. As the fire approached Adira, she had no other choice. She accepted her fate. "I tried my best to stand against losing you, not knowing it would lead to my death. I should have let love be and focused on my unborn child; now I see where I am. Brayan, even in my next life, I will never forgive you. You pay so dearly for the pain you have caused. I wish the moon goddess would bring me back to take my revenge. Adira couldn't finish her statement as something fell from the sky and struck her head.
Immediately after she died, the charm left Brayan. "Adira!!!!!!!" Brayan screamed and ran to open the house. He couldn't step into the house because the fire was on the next level. Brayan fell to the ground, and he cried for the first time. He screamed the king's name, "Jasper!!!" His voice echoed in the woods.
That same night, Brayan angrily went to the palace with his sword. Ready to take down the palace. Anytime he picks up his sword, heads roll on the floor. As he arrived at the palace, he met a surprising sight. Kiki's lifeless body is on the ground, and the king looked very happy.
As the king saw him, he was shocked and dropped the cup in his hand. "This can't be true," King Jasper said.
Brayan smiled. "Yeah, it's the truth. I am very much alive," he said, moving closer to the king. As he took four steps forward, someone stabbed him in the back, and before he could react, they stabbed him again and again, doing it three times.
Brayan slowly went down on his knees, blood rushing and dripping out of his body. He managed to raise his head and look at the king. "I don't think you have won. I must pay you back. Your death will be ten times more painful than all the lives you have taken. This is just the beginning!" As Brayan finished his statement, King Jasper took one of his men's swords and stabbed him twice. Brayan bent his head on his sword and seized his breath.
