Mira’s face was red with anger as she banged the door shut behind her, stopping whatever was about to ensue between Dave and Cassidy. She stormed over to Dave’s bedside and it took everything in her not to dig her fingers into Cassidy’s hair and yank out every single strand in it.
“You have no business being here. Why don’t you go stay by your son’s side instead?” Mira spat, her words dripping with venom as she looked down on Cassidy and Dave.
“Mira, what do you think you’re doing?” Dave asked, his voice straining as he spoke.
“Sending her to her son is what I’m doing. I am here now and can take better care of you than her.” Mira replied, her cold eyes glaring at Cassidy who sat silently through the rants and spite lashed out at her.
