“Umm. Ryan. The nanny will soon be here” Cassidy said, grabbing her phone and her purse, her hand flying to her hair to tie it into a messy bun.
"Let me come with you, Cassy," Dave urged, standing up too, a concerned look etched on his face.
Cassy hesitated for a moment, torn between wanting to handle this family matter alone and appreciating Dave's support. Finally, she nodded gratefully.
"Okay, thank you, Dave."
Dave offered to drive her to her parent's house and she got in without a word
The entire ride was silent but Dave could sense her discomfort and worry as she stared out of the window, her heart racing.
